In this paper, some necessary and sufficient solvability conditions for the system of mixed generalized Sylvester matrix equations A_1X-YB_1=C_1,A_2Y-ZB_2 = C_2 are derived, and an expression of the general solution to this system is given when it is solvable.Admissible ranks of the solution, and admissible ranks and inertias of the Hermitian part of the solution are investigated, respectively. As an application of the above system, solvability conditions and the general Hermitian solution to the generalized Sylvester matrix equation are obtained. Moreover,we provide an algorithm and an example to illustrate our results.

As orthogonal frequency division multiplexing(OFDM) has unique advantages,it has been widely used in radio communications. In recent years,OFDM has been introduced into optical communications. Until now, studies of optical orthogonal frequency division multiplexing(OOFDM) are mainly concentrated on offline experimental analysis and based on real-time analysis with the global clock. This paper demonstrates a high-speed real-time optical OFDM transceiver system based on asynchronous clock transmitting 2.5 Gbit/s 16-QAM-encoded OOFDM signals over 25 km standard single-mode fiber(SMF).The bit error rate is less than 1.2xl0"5.

By nature, the present financial tsunami is the crisis for the whole world's financial system, which is due to the following three reasons:(1) the American dollars freeing from regulation cannot guide the international monetary system since the falling-apart of the Bretton Woods system in the early 1970s;(2) the American economic savings are so low that the high consumption level is kept by way of borrowing from the whole world;(3) the Fed has always been adopted the expansionary monetary policy and flabby financial supervision to support the prosper of the American capital market. As for China, because of 30 years of the reform and opening to the world,it melts deeply into the process of globalization. The first 20 years witness a rapid,long-term growth. But,in recent years, there appear a lot of bubbles in China's financial system because of some objective factors. And there are two reasons why the present financial tsunami gives an impact on China's economy:(1) the financial tsunami causes the deflation of the bubbles in China's financial system and the disappearance of the virtual assets makes the liquidity in short supply as well as the fund chains break-down of some enterprises;(2) the decline of the international purchasing power makes China's export orders cut down and, accordingly, the danger of enterprises' bankruptcy and unemployment enlarge. Therefore,on the one hand,an international co-operation should be carried out so as to construct a new system of the world's finance;and on the other hand, for a short period of time, more attention should be paid to the stabilization of macroeconomy and to the problem of the small or middle enterprises. But,the most important is,by further reform, transforming the mode of economic development and enhancing the industrial efficiency.

In this paper, a new feedback scheme is presented based on the comparison of several CQI feedback schemes for OFDMA systems. The number of feedback level is decreased. And the number of feedback RBs (Resource Blocks) is increased in each level, in order to enrich the feedback information of the radio channel. Simulation results show that the new scheme enhances the description precision of the radio channel and is quite flexibile when used under different channel conditions, with hardly no more bit cost compared to some current schemes.

In this paper, we report a multiple sequence alignment result on the basis of 10 amino acid sequences of the M protein, which come from different coronaviruses (4 SARS-associated and 6 others known). The alignment model was based on the profile HMM (Hidden Markov Model), and the model training was implemented through the SAHMM (Self-Adapting Hidden Markov Model) software developed by the authors.

We studied dynamical behaviors of the depletion--mode AlGaAs/GaAs high electron mobility transistor (HEMT) under optical illumination. Photovoltage and the effect of optical generated carries on space charge concentration had been taken into account. Using the chargecontrolling model, we analyzed the optical effect on device's pinch--off voltage, sheet concentration of two dimensional electron gas (2-DEG), I-V characteristic and transconductance as well. Compared with the dark condition, the pinch-off voltage is reduced and the sheet concentration of 2--DEG is increased, which results in an increase in the current gain while the transconductance is insensitive to optical illumination.

By analyzing the textual embodiment of a set of symbolic divisions valorized by the Chinese patriarchal socio-cultural order in classical Chinese fiction, drama, critical discourses and film melodrama and the ways in which these divisions contribute to the construction of a viewing subject implicated in the complex social relations that make up the Chinese social formation in spatial terms,we can gain new insights into the intertextuality of Xie Jin's film melodrama in terms of its relation to the traditional Chinese melodramatic paradigm and the political paradigm of the Mao period and the vital role it plays in the new period as a period of political and cultural transition.Focusing on Xie Jin' s deployment of a bipolar narrative pattern informed by the Chinese yin-yang cosmology that allows him to blend history with fiction and the socio-cultural and political function of his melodramatic treatment of touchy political issues and identity problems with recourse to specific mise-en-scene techniques and cinematic codes, the author argues that the significance of Xie Jin' s film melodrama which centers on the definition and redefinition of the social and political status of the main characters within a highly limited ethical and political discursive field lies in its function to provide women and other socially disadvantaged social groups with a semantically complex reference framework and new modes of moral expressivity to negotiate with the dominant forces in society and its capacity to mediate social contradictions and facilitate the construction of a collective subjectivity that promotes and affirms socio-cultural transformation in the new period.

Nowadays, the cultural studies of the European and American scholars have gone beyond the scholastic methods of research. They no longer consider the cultural studies merely as a research method or form, and, therefore, jump out of the endless stereotype of defining concepts.Especially,Ben Agger proposes decanonization and de-specialization.Instead of turning the culture studied into a kind of empty methodology,he points out that there is no single form of the cultural studies and that the scholastic research method results in its departure from politics. All these cultural theories of "new lefts" in the European and American countries are instructive for China' s accurately understanding of what cultural studies is.
