IMPROVING STUDENTS’ WRITING RECOUNT ACHIEVEMENT THROUGH PICTURE WORD INDUCTIVE MODEL (PWIM) 运用图词归纳模型提高学生写作叙述成绩

Abstract This research attempts to improve students’ writing recount achievement by using Picture Word Inductive Model (PWIM). The result showed the improvement of students’ writing recount achievement. It was found that the mean of the students’ scores in every test was improved. In the first test, the mean was 53.8 and there was 8.3% of the students who got up 70 points (Minimum Completeness Criteria), in the second test, it was 68.7 and 50% of the students who got up 70 points, and in the last one, the mean was 78.4 and there was 97.2% of the students who got up 70 points. The result of the research showed the progress of achievement scores. Based on the diary note, observation sheet, questionnaire sheet and interview sheet it shows that the students felt enthusiastic, enjoyable, and active in learning recount text through Picture Word Inductive Model (PWIM). It can be concluded that Picture Word Inductive Model (PWIM) gives contribution to improve students’ writing recount achievement. 摘要本研究试图运用图片词归纳模型(PWIM)提高学生的写作叙述成绩。结果表明,学生的写作叙述成绩有所提高。结果发现,学生每次考试的平均分都有所提高。在第一次测试中,平均得分为53.8分,达到70分(最低完整性标准)的学生占8.3%;在第二次测试中,平均得分为68.7分,达到70分的学生占50%;在最后一次测试中,平均得分为78.4分,达到70分的学生占97.2%。研究结果显示了成绩分数的进步。通过对日记、观察表、问卷调查表和访谈表的分析,发现学生在运用图片词归纳模型(PWIM)学习复述课文过程中表现出热情、愉快和积极的态度。由此可见,图词归纳模型对提高学生写作叙述成绩有一定的促进作用。关键词:成就,写作,叙述,图词归纳模型(PWIM)

ABSTRACT This study attempted to improve students’ achievement in writing narrative text by applying Problem Based Learning technique. This study was conducted by using clasroom action research. The subject of this research was the students of  VIII science SMP I BARUMUN TENGAH PADANG LAWAS with the total 40 students. The esearches conducted in two cycles consisted of six meetings. The instruments for collecting the date were tests, diary notes, observation sheets, and interview. Based on the date analysis, the mean of the students’ score for the orientation test was 51. 52 for test I (cycle 1) was 39. 61 and for test II (cycle 2) was 58. 76. The conclution is Problem Based Learning technique can improve the students’ achievement in writing narrative text. Keywords: Problem Based Learning, Writing, Narrative Text

IMPROVING GRADE V STUDENTS’ VOCABULARY ACHIEVEMENT THROUGH FLASH CARDS 通过抽认卡提高五年级学生的词汇成绩

ABSTRACT This study attempts to increase students’ vocabulary achievement by using flash cards. The objective of the study is to investigate whether the using of flash card can improve students’ vocabulary achievement. This study conduct by applying Classroom Action Research which was carried out in two cycles in six meetings. The subject of this study of SD Negeri 174559 Siraituruk, Porsea which consisted of 34 students. For collecting data, the instruments used were quantitative (vocabulary test) and qualitative data (interview sheet, observation sheet, and diary notes. Based on the data, it was found that the mean of the second cycle (80, 44) is higher than the mean of first cycle (64, 85) and pre-test (44, 41).  Based on interview sheet, observation sheet and diary notes, it was found thee students were more active and more enthusiastic during the teaching learning process in the second cycle than the first one. It was concluded that teaching vocabulary by using  flash cards can improve the students’ vocabulary achievement.   Keywords : Flash Cards, Vocabulary, Action Research

IMPROVING STUDENTS’ VOCABULARY ACHIEVEMENT THROUGH ANAGRAM TECHNIQUE IN SMP N I BANDAR 运用变位法提高学生在英语教学中的词汇成就

ABSTRACT This study attempts to improve students’ vocabulary achievement through anagram technique. This research was conducted by using action research method. The subject of this study was grade VIII students of SMP N I Bandar. The number of the students was thirty one students, consisted of ten boys twenty one girls. They were taught through anagram technique. The instrument used were vocabulary tests, diary notes, interview sheet, questionnaire sheet and observation sheet. The technique of data analysis were quantitative and qualitative. In analyzing the data, the mean of the students’ score for the first vocabulary test as orientation was 38,70, for the second vocabulary test as a cycle I test was 66,29, for the third vocabulary test as cycle II test was 82,74. The total percentage of the improvement from the first reading test to the third reading test was 7,12%. The conclusion is that anagram technique can improve the students’ vocabulary achievement. The qualitative data show that the students were more interested and motivated on vocabulary achievement through anagram. It is suggested that teachers should apply anagram technique as one of methods to improve students’ achievement in vocabulary. Keywords: Anagram technique, Action research
摘要本研究试图通过变位法提高学生的词汇学习成绩。本研究采用行动研究法进行。本研究以班达尔中学八年级学生为研究对象。学生的人数是31名学生,包括10名男孩21名女孩。他们通过字谜法学习。使用的工具有词汇测试、日记、访谈表、问卷调查表和观察表。数据分析技术分为定量和定性两种。通过对数据的分析,学生在第一项词汇测试中得分的平均值为38,70分,在第二项词汇测试中得分的平均值为66,29分,在第三项词汇测试中得分的平均值为82,74分。从第一次阅读测试到第三次阅读测试,改善的总百分比为7.12%。结论是变位术可以提高学生的词汇成绩。定性数据表明,学生对变位词汇成就的兴趣和动力更大。建议教师将变位技巧作为提高学生词汇成绩的方法之一。关键词:变位法;行动研究

ABSTRACT This study attempts to Improving Students’ Vocabulary achievement Trough Word Webbing Technique. The objective of the study is to discover whether the use of word webbing technique could significantly improving students’ vocabulary. This study conduct by applying Classroom Action Research which was carried out in two cycles in six meetings. The subject of this study of SMPN 4 Takengon, Aceh Tengah which consisted of 40 students. The quantitative data were collected by using observation sheet, questionnaire sheet and diary field. Based on the vocabulary test score, students’ score kept improving in every test. The mean of students’ score cycle (80) was higher than the fist cycle (67,75) and orientation test (55.25). based on observation sheet, questionnaire sheet and diary field, it was found that teaching learning process ran well. The students were more active and more enthusiastic during the teaching learning process in the second cycle than the first one. ABSTRACT This study deals with the students’ achievement improvement in writing procedure texts by using videos by applying classroom action research. The subjects of this research were 38 students of class X-1 SMA TELADAN MEDAN. After analyzing the data in two cycles of classroom action research, it was found there was an improvement of students’ mean score from 60.44 in assessment before applying video became 68.52 in cycle I and improved again became 78.89 in cycle II. It means that the use of video significantly improves the students’ achievement in writing procedure texts. Keywords: writing, procedure text, action research, videos, X-I SMA Teladan Medan.
摘要本研究运用课堂行动研究的方法,探讨利用视频提高学生程序文本写作成绩的问题。本研究以38名SMA TELADAN MEDAN X-1班学生为研究对象。通过对两轮课堂行动研究的数据分析,发现学生的平均分从应用视频前的60.44分提高到第一轮的68.52分,第二轮再次提高到78.89分。这意味着视频的使用显著提高了学生在程序文本写作中的成绩。关键词:写作,程序文本,行动研究,视频,X-I SMA Teladan Medan。

IMPROVING STUDENTS’ WRITING ACHIEVEMENT IN DESCRIPTIVE TEXT THROUGH QUANTUM LEARNING 通过量子学习提高学生描述性文本的写作成绩

This study deals with the improvement of the students’ achievement in writing descriptive text through quantum learning. This study was conducted by using action research at second year of SMP N 1 Kabanjahe. The sample of this study was just one class namely: VIII-2. The number of this class was 36 students. The research was conducted in two cycles. Cycle 1 consisted of three meetings and cycle 2 consisted of two meetings. There were two kinds of data collected during the study, qualitative and quantitative data. The instrument for collecting the quantitative data was writing test while the quantitative data were gathered through interview, diary notes and observation sheet. Based on the writing test result, the students score kept improving in every test. In pre test, the mean score was 52, 61. In the test of cycle I, the mean score was 63 and the mean score in test of cycle II was 80. The conclusion is that quantum learning can improve the students’ descriptive writing achievement.   Key words: Students’ Achievement, Writing, Descriptive text, Quantum Learning

This study was conducted by using action research at second year of SMP N 1 Kabanjahe. The sample of this study was just one class namely: VIII-2. The number of this class was 36 students. The research was conducted in two cycles. Cycle 1 consisted of three meetings and cycle 2 consisted of two meetings. There were two kinds of data collected during the study, qualitative and quantitative data. The instrument for collecting the quantitative data was writing test while the quantitative data were gathered through interview, diary notes and observation sheet. Based on the writing test result, the students score kept improving in every test. In pre test, the mean score was 52, 61. In the test of cycle I, the mean score was 63 and the mean score in test of cycle II was 80. ABSTRACT This study attempts to improve students’ achievement in reading comprehension through team pair solo. This study was conducted by using classroom action research. The subject of this research was class VIII2 MTs Al-jihad which consisted of 41 students. The research was conducted in two cycles, cycle I consisted of four meetings and cycle II consisted of two meetings. The instruments for collecting data were quantitative data (reading comprehension test) and qualitative data (diary notes, observation sheet, and questionnaire sheet). Based on reading comprehension scores, students’ score kept improving in every reading comprehension test. Based on diary notes, observation sheet, and questionnaire sheet, it was found that the teaching-learning process ran well. The students were active, interested, and enthusiastic in reading. The result of the research showed that team pair solo significantly improved students’ achievement in reading comprehension. Key Words: reading, reading comprehension, team pair solo  
摘要:本研究试图通过小组配对独奏提高学生的阅读理解成绩。本研究采用课堂行动研究法进行。本研究的对象是由41名学生组成的圣战八班。研究分两个周期进行,周期一包括四次会议,周期二包括两次会议。收集资料的工具为定量资料(阅读理解测验)和定性资料(日记、观察表、问卷)。从阅读理解成绩来看,学生在每次阅读理解测试中的成绩都在不断提高。通过日记、观察表和问卷调查,发现教学过程运行良好。学生们对阅读很积极,很感兴趣,也很热情。研究结果表明,组队独奏显著提高了学生的阅读理解成绩。关键词:阅读,阅读理解,小组配对独奏

IMPROVING STUDENTS’ ACHIEVEMENT IN READING COMPREHENSION THROUGH NATURAL APPROACH 运用自然教学法提高学生的阅读理解成绩

ABSTRACT This study deals with improving stuudents’ achievement in reading comprehension through natural approach. The objective of this study is to iinvestigate whether there is any significant improvement of the students’ achievement in reading comprehension when it is taught by using natural approach. The subject of the study was Grade XI students of  Nasrani 3 Private Senior High School (Sekolah Menengah Atas Swasta Nasrani 3) Medan. There were thirty one students. They were taught by using Natural Approach. The instrument for data collection were teacher made test, observation sheet and questionaire. The techniques of data analysis applied were quantitative and qualitative. In analysing the data, the students were given three reading tests namely, Orientation Test, Test Cycle I and Test Cycle II. The mean of the students’ score for the first reading test as Orientation test was 51.61 the second reading test as Cycle I test was 66.61 and the third reading test as Cycle II test was 76.61. The total percentage of the improvement from the first reading test to the third was 77.41%. the conclusion is that the procedures of natural approach can improve the students’ achievement in reading comprehension. The qualitative data shows that the students were enthusiastic and interested in reading comprehension. It is suggested that teachers should apply Natural Approach as one of the media in improving students’ achievement in reading comprehension. 摘要:本研究探讨如何运用自然教学法提高学生的阅读理解水平。本研究的目的是探讨采用自然教学法教学是否对学生的阅读理解成绩有显著的提高。这项研究的对象是棉兰Nasrani 3私立高中(Sekolah Menengah Atas Swasta Nasrani 3)的11年级学生。有31名学生。他们采用自然方法进行教学。数据收集工具为教师自编测试、观察表和问卷调查。应用的数据分析技术有定量和定性两种。在分析数据时,对学生进行了三个阅读测试,即定向测试、测试周期一和测试周期二。学生的第一项阅读测试成绩为51.61分,第二项阅读测试成绩为66.61分,第三项阅读测试成绩为76.61分。从第一次阅读测试到第三次阅读测试,总改善率为77.41%。结论是,自然教学法的教学过程能够提高学生的阅读理解成绩。定性数据显示,学生对阅读理解有热情和兴趣。建议教师将自然教学法作为提高学生阅读理解成绩的媒介之一。关键词:阅读,自然教学法,课堂行动研究
