"St.Retrospect" is an interactive platform of cultural heritage dissemination, that presents culturally significant locations of Saint Petersburg visualized on the map of the city. The map is structured around relations between locations and historical figures and complemented with historical overview of the sites and famous people linked to them. The project is being carried out by the team of International Digital Humanities Center at ITMO University.

The aim of this research was the development of a web-based infrastructure that incorporates the historical geographical information derived from the maps and texts of the French Scientific Mission (1828-1829). The infrastructure supports the research and analysis of spatial relations and functions during the establishment of the first Hellenic State illuminating the historical landscape of that time. The maps and geographical reports of the French Scientific Mission constituted the first systematic scientific mapping of the Greek territory and thus was the basic technological infrastructure of the new state that was about to be formed. For the development of the spatial infrastructure, new technological approaches have been followed in line with the recommendations suggested by the Geospatial Semantic Web, introducing the concepts of "semantic interoperability" and geographic data models in the management of historical data. This means that the spatial dimension of historical data is highlighted and thus these are modelled according to spatial information standards and as linked geo-data. The latter allows interconnection with other relevant historical sources and applications.

Humanities for Change is an international network of students and young scholars who are committed to establishing a different role for the humanistic disciplines in the present time. Its publication activities are concentrated on certain fundamental themes, such as: the digital and public humanities, innovative professional opportunities for graduates of this field, the reflection on innovations in the didactic environment and the potential derived from the collaboration with hard sciences. The network does not propose specific contents on the humanities itself, but aims at reflecting in a metadisciplinary way about the conditions through which this knowledge can survive and still play an important role in the next decades. For this reason, Humanities for Change does not exclusively address to experts, but aim to reach a much wider and heterogeneous audience by using different dissemination channels (social networks, blog articles, journal essays, interviews, conferences, lectures). The ultimate goal is to redefine the role of humanitistic knowledge in the social context in order to transform a culture considered to be an end to itself into an instrument of practical action and an essential prerequisite for a democratic society.
