Following the success of the 1st International Conference on Natural Computation (ICNC 2005) in Changsha, ICNC 2006 in Xi’an, and ICNC 2007 in Hainan, ICNC 2008 was held jointly with the 5th International Conference on Fuzzy Systems and Knowledge Discovery (FSKD 2008) from 18 to 20 October 2008 in Jinan, Shandong province, China. ICNC 2008 received 1875 submissions from 38 countries/regions. After rigorous reviews, 914 high-quality papers were selected for publication in the ICNC 2008 proceedings. The acceptance rate was 48.7%. The joint ICNC-FSKD 2008 received 3185 submissions, a total of 1545 papers of which were included in the ICNC-FSKD 2008 proceedings, representing an overall acceptance rate of 48.5%.
继第一届自然计算国际会议(ICNC 2005)在长沙、ICNC 2006(西安)和ICNC 2007(海南)取得成功之后,ICNC 2008与第五届模糊系统与知识发现国际会议(FSKD 2008)于2008年10月18日至20日在中国山东省济南市联合举行。ICNC 2008收到了来自38个国家/地区的1875份意见书。经过严格的评审,914篇高质量论文入选ICNC 2008论文集。录取率为48.7%。ICNC-FSKD 2008联合会议共收到3185份意见书,其中1545份被纳入ICNC-FSKD 2008会议记录,整体接受率为48.5%。
