Effect of Shielding with Electromagnetic Absorbing Materials on Specific Absorption Rate Reduction 电磁吸波材料屏蔽对降低比吸收率的影响

In this paper, a new specific absorption rate reduction technique is introduced. The shielding technique is performed by different electromagnetic absorbing materials. Electromagnetic absorbers used in shielding are glass, FR-4, teflon, Nickel, Gallium Arsenide and Silicon. Specific absorption rate reduction factor of 48.38% averaged over 1 gm of mass is achieved. The infinity-shaped structure is a new metamaterial structure which is used in shielding. The infinity-shaped structure achieves specific absorption rate reduction factor of 53.8% averaged over 1 gm of mass tissue. The standard anthropomorphic mannequin phantom human head model at 900 MHz is presented. Specific absorption rate distribution and radiation pattern are analyzed, as well, to verify the performance of the model and the antenna. Simulations show the effect of changing the thickness and the width of the shield on the specific absorption rate value.

Networking Technologies for IoT 物联网的网络技术

In IoT, the connectivity among various “Things” is indispensable. New requirements concerning these connections have been specified in addition to those of legacy networked services. For example, requirements of transmission performance, resilience, security and safety, and some operation issues have been discussed to configure networks accommodating IoT services. Therefore, to deploy IoT services, communication networks should adapt to these requirements. This paper identifies IoT service scenarios, and then classifies networks technologies focusing on deployment of these IoT service scenarios to some topics. It also surveys these technologies according to classified topics.

AutoRIO: An Indoor Testbed for Developing Autonomous Vehicles autoorio:开发自动驾驶汽车的室内测试平台

Autonomous vehicles have a great influence on our life. These vehicles are more convenient, more energy efficient providing higher safety level and cheaper driving solutions. In addition, decreasing the generation of CO2, and the risk vehicular accidents are other benefits of autonomous vehicles. However, leveraging a full autonomous system is challenging and the proposed solutions are newfound. Providing a testbed for evaluating new algorithms is beneficial for researchers and hardware developers to verify the real impact of their solutions. The existence of testing environment is a low-cost infrastructure leading to increase the time-to-market of novel ideas. In this paper, we propose Auto Rio, a cutting-edge indoor testbed for developing autonomous vehicles.

A Frequency Reconfigurable Antenna for Microwave Applications 用于微波应用的频率可重构天线

In this paper, two models for dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) with frequency reconfigurable capabilities are investigated. The frequency agility is achieved via integrating ideal switches with the DRA structure employed for microwave applications. The first model investigates the integration of five switches on the DRA surface to connect the printed metallic ring and the ground plane. The resonance frequency and the impedance matching bandwidth are controled by the combination of the switches states to be ON and OFF. The resonance frequency is varied from 9.7 GHz to 11.5 GHz with 190 MHz bandwidth. In the second model a conducting plate is printed on the top of the DRA and eight metallic switches connect it with the ground through eight metallic strips. The reconfigurable frequency of the antenna is changed from 6.2 GHz to 8.08 GHz. A full-wave analysis is used to model and analyze the radiation characterstics of the antenna structure. A time domain based finite integral technique (FIT) and frequency domain finite element method (FEM) are employed.

Novel CMOS-Inverter Based VGA and VCRO 基于VGA和VCRO的新型cmos逆变器

In this paper, a novel variable-gain amplifier (VGA) and a novel voltage-controlled ring oscillator (VCRO) are proposed. The two proposed schemes depend on the same controlled inverter unit with a single added device. The relationship between the voltage gain of the proposed VGA and the control voltage and the relationship between the oscillation frequency of the proposed VCRO and the control voltage are both derived. Finally, the proposed VGA and VCRO are simulated adopting the 45 nm CMOS technology with a power-supply voltage, VDD, equal to 1 V.

Hardware Friendly Algorithm for Earthquakes Discrimination Based on Wavelet Filter Bank and Support Vector Machine 基于小波滤波器组和支持向量机的地震识别硬件友好算法

Discrimination between earthquakes and explosion is one of the main challenges in the field of seismology. In some cases, the explosions recorded as an earthquake or vice verse, which can contaminate the seismic catalog. Rapid discrimination is required to support the real-time seismic application. The discrimination algorithm is based on a wavelet filter bank to extract the discriminative features, and support vector machine (SVM) as a classifier. Therefore; we propose to optimize the hardware implementation of the discrimination algorithm on Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA). First, we implement the wavelet filter bank using optimized lifting scheme. Then, we utilize the linear classifier to implement the SVM classifier. Finally, we optimize the hardware resources of the discrimination algorithm to be utilized on low-cost FPGA called TE0711 board (Xilinx Artix7). The implemented design is utilized 1.2% and 39.8% of the FPGA's Look Up Table (LUT) and register resources, respectively.

Silicon-on-Insulator First-Order Mode Converter Based on Binary Phase Plate 基于二相板的绝缘体上硅一阶模式变换器

A silicon-on-insulator fundamental to first-order mode converter is proposed based on binary phase plate. The device can be operated in both polarizations simultaneously as it converts both fundamental TE0and TM0modes to first-order TE1and TM1modes, respectively which will be very useful in implementing PDM-MDM systems. The proposed device has a simple and compact structure. It has a low insertion loss of −2 dB and low crosstalk.

High Efficiency 2.45 GHz Low Power Hybrid Junction Rectifier for RF Energy Harvesting 用于射频能量收集的高效2.45 GHz低功率混合结整流器

This paper presents a 2.45 GHz low power rectifier utilizing a 180° hybrid junction for radio frequency (RF) energy harvesting. This rectifier provides enhanced efficiency at low input power levels compared to the typical Greinacher voltage doubler rectifier. The proposed rectifier consists - in addition to the 180° hybrid combiner - of two rectifying branches and two output ports. Each rectifying branch is based on the Greinacher voltage doubler configuration but contains only one rectifying diode for each branch. Using of only one diode instead of two provides significant improvement in the efficiency of the RF rectifier. The proposed rectifier configuration has been simulated using advanced design system (ADS) and its performance has been investigated and compared to the ordinary voltage doubler rectifier. The proposed rectifier provides maximum power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 70 % compared to maximum PCE of 51 % for the ordinary voltage doubler circuit. Moreover, the proposed rectifier topology provides sensible enhancement of the efficiency at the lower input power levels.

The proposed rectifier provides maximum power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 70 % compared to maximum PCE of 51 % for the ordinary voltage doubler circuit. Comparison with Assured Transfer of Information Mechanisms in MQTT MQTT中保证信息传递机制的比较

Various protocols for IoT services are widely discussed currently. One of these protocols is message queuing telemetry transport (MQTT), which is an approach based on the information centric network (ICN) technology. However, MQTT must be operated over IP and its related protocols; therefore, the co-operation between MQTT and these protocols is an interesting topic of study. One of the issues related to the abovementioned study is the mechanism to transfer information assuredly. MQTT provides some mechanisms for the assured transfer of information such as “Quality of Service (QoS) classes” with several options such as QoSO, QoSl, and QoS2. TCP also provides a re-transmission scheme for this purpose. This study surveys the mechanism based on MQTT QoS classes, and discusses transmission performance with comparisons among TCP based and MQTT QoS class-based approaches. It concludes that the QoSl in MQTT can be invoked to perform an assured transfer of information with small delay.

Improving the Performance of the Digital Predistorter Based on Sample Reuse- Rls Algorithm 基于样本复用Rls算法的数字预失真器性能改进

In this paper, a modification is introduced over the conventional recursive least square (RLS) algorithm for designing adaptive digital predistorter (DPD). The modification is performed using a sample reuse technique to raise the performance of the DPD even when using small number of samples. The designed DPD based on the new algorithm reduces the nonlinearity and memory effect problems of power amplifiers and gives better performance than the conventional RLS algorithm. In addition, the proposed algorithm gives the designer full control of the resulting error which can be conveniently determined for each application. Simulation results are performed using different types and numbers of input samples and different PA characteristics to compare between the performance of the classical and the modified algorithm.
