COST-EFFECTIVE DESIGN FOR BIOREMEDIATION USING NUMERICAL ANALYSIS AND TESTING METHODS FOR THE ANALYSIS PARAMETERS 采用数值分析和测试方法对分析参数进行具有成本效益的生物修复设计

It is well-known that bioremediation for oil-contaminated soil takes a lot of remediation duration and is difficult to predict the duration. Previous research predicted the period of purification of the bioremediation of soil contaminated with a single chemical substance. In this research, a numerical analysis model was developed to solve the problem of bioremediation of oil contaminated soil. Parameters for the numerical model were obtained by opened- and closed-batch experiments. The reliability of the numerical model was confirmed by column experiments with oil-contaminated soil. Next, parametric studies were conducted to investigate an appropriate embankment height that can keep aerobic condition by diffusing atmospheric oxygen into the embankment for rapid bioremediation. Two method case studies for a biopile method and a land farming method in bioremediation were conducted to evaluate the remediation performance. As the results, this paper concludes that the numerical model is useful to design the bioremediation effectively and evaluating the cost-benefits of a biopile method and a land farming method.
