Taraxacum erythroboreale Efimov, a new apomictic species, is described and illustrated. It occurs in Russia (North of the European part), in the Murmansk and Vologda regions, in the Komi Republic, being locally very abundant. It occupies mainly dry sandy roadsides and other similar ruderal places, and seems benefiting from the anthropogenic disturbance of the land. The new species may belong either to the section Erythrosperma (H. Lindb.) Dahlst., or have originated from the hybridization between this section and some species of Asiatic sections Stenoloba Kirschner et Štěpánek or Dissecta (Soest) R. Doll. The new species displays rather wide morphological polymorphism as to the presence/absence of purplish achene pigmentation, shape of outer phyllaries, corniculation of phyllaries, and in some other traits.
Dahlst.

Synopsis of the genus Oxytropis DC. in Eastern Europe (within the former USSR, including northwestern Kazakhstan) and the Urals is published, comprising 25 species, 1 subspecies, and 5 varieties. To compare, in the «Flora of the USSR» (Vassilczenko, Fedtschenko, 1948), only 17 species of the genus were listed for the same territory. The lectotypes of O. approximata Less., O. gebleriana Schrenk ex Fisch. et C. A. Mey., O. glabra DC., O. gmelinii Boriss., O. hippolyti Boriss., O. sordida (Willd.) Pers., and O. uralensis (L.) DC. are designated. Oxytropis baschkirensis Knjaz. is included in O. uralensis, whereas synonymization of O. songarica (Pall.) DC. and O. ivdelensis Knjaz. with O. uralensis is rejected. The new nomenclatural combination O. uralensis var. baschkirensis (Knjaz.) Knjaz. is published. Oxytropis baschkirensis subsp. skvortsovii Knjaz. is synonymized with the type variety of O. uralensis. A key for indetification of Oxytropis in Eastern Europe and the Urals is compiled.

Typhashipunovii Mavrodiev, Kapit. et Belyakov (Typha sect. Ebracteolatae Graebn., Typhaceae) is described as a new species for science. This cattail is an endemic to Yuri Island (Lesser Kuril Chain, Russian Far East) and likely results from the hybridization of T. latifolia L. and T. japonica Miq. The species is named after the remarkable Russian and American botanist Professor A. B. Shipunov (1965–2022).

A review of the tribe Potentilleae Sweet (except for Alchemilla L.) in the flora of the Republic of Dagestan with an identification key is presented. According to preliminary data, the tribe includes 8 genera and 36 species. Genus Potentilla L. is the most numerous and numbers 26 species. Among them, P. assalemica Soják is a new species for Russia, P. pedata Willd. ex Hornem. is reported for Dagestan for the first time, P. daghestanica Soják is a subendemic of the study region, which was omitted from the earlier published «Conspectus of the flora of Dagestan» (CFD). In the flora of Dagestan, the genera Fragaria L. and Sibbaldia L. consist of 3 and 2 species respectively; Aphanes L., Argentina Hill, Dasiphora Raf., Drymocallis Fourr. ex Rydb. and Sibbaldianthe Juz. include one species each. For some botanical-geographical regions of Dagestan new findings are given, including Potentilla adenophylla Boiss. and P. ruprechtii Boiss., subendemics of the Caucasus. Compared with CFD, Potentilla is considered here in a strict sense, with separation of such genera as Argentina, Dasiphora, Drymocallis, and Sibbaldianthe.

According to preliminary data, the tribe includes 8 genera and 36 species. Genus Potentilla L. is the most numerous and numbers 26 species. Among them, P. assalemica Soják is a new species for Russia, P. pedata Willd. ex Hornem. is reported for Dagestan for the first time, P. daghestanica Soják is a subendemic of the study region, which was omitted from the earlier published «Conspectus of the flora of Dagestan» (CFD). In the flora of Dagestan, the genera Fragaria L. and Sibbaldia L. consist of 3 and 2 species respectively; Aphanes L., Argentina Hill, Dasiphora Raf., Drymocallis Fourr. ex Rydb. and Sibbaldianthe Juz. include one species each. For some botanical-geographical regions of Dagestan new findings are given, including Potentilla adenophylla Boiss. and P. ruprechtii Boiss., subendemics of the Caucasus. Compared with CFD, Potentilla is considered here in a strict sense, with separation of such genera as Argentina, Dasiphora, Drymocallis, and Sibbaldianthe.","PeriodicalId":201309,"journal":{"name":"Novitates Systematicae Plantarum Vascularium","volume":"3 3","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"138967473","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
