FCNC and EFT interpretations in top quark events in CMS CMS中顶夸克事件的FCNC和EFT解释

Top quark production can probe physics beyond the standard model (SM) in different ways. The Effective Field Theory (EFT) framework allows searching for beyond the SM (BSM) effects in a model independent way. CMS experiment is pioneering EFT measurements that move towards using full potential of the data in the most global way possible. Searches for flavour-changing neutral currents (FCNC) and anomalous top quark interactions are also being pursued in CMS which are complementary to the EFT approach. This talk reviews the current limits on FCNC searches in the top sector, and EFT interpretations.

Top quark pair reconstruction using an attention-based neural network 基于注意力神经网络的顶夸克对重构

For many top quark measurements, it is essential to reconstruct the top quark from its decay products. For example, the top quark pair production process in the all-jets final state has six jets initiated from daughter partons and additional jets from initial or final state radiation. Due to the many possible permutations, it is very hard to assign jets to partons. We use a deep neural network with an attention-based architecture together with a new objective function for the jet-parton assignment problem. Our novel deep learning model and the physics-inspired objective function enable jet-parton assignment using jet-wise input variables while the attention mechanism bypasses the combinatorial explosion that usually leads to intractable computational requirements. The model can also be applied as a classifier to reject the overwhelming QCD background, showing increased performance over standard classification methods.

The light pseudoscalar mesons [ and [′ are central to our understanding of QCD at low energies, and their decays provide important tests of effective field theories. They are also important laboratories for tests of discrete symmetries and searches for beyond Standard model physics. Through its large dataset at the /k resonance, the BESIII experiment has a unique opportunity to study the [′ meson and measure its decays with unprecedented precision. Recently, the absolute branching fractions of the five most common decay modes have been determined for the first time, and the rare decays [′ → c+c−4+4−, c+c−`+`−, 4c0, and WW[ have been studied with high precision.

Measurements of Luminosity in ATLAS with Tile Calorimeter 用瓦式量热计测量ATLAS的光度

Luminosity measurements in the ATLAS experiment are provided primarily by the LUCID detector, but rely on other detectors for determining the systematic uncertainties associated with this measurement. The Tile Calorimeter (TileCal), the central hadronic calorimeter of the ATLAS experiment, and the ATLAS Inner Detector (ID) play an important role due to their luminosity measurements being independent of pileup. Comparison of the LUCID luminosity measurements in different run conditions to those obtained by TileCal and ID, as well as a comparison of TileCal to ID, is used to measure and study the dominant systematic uncertainty associated with the LUCID luminosity measurement. In this document the methods of measuring ATLAS luminosity with the Tile Calorimeter and its transformation to a systematic uncertainty are described.

ATLAS Tile Calorimeter time calibration, monitoring and performance in Run 2 ATLAS瓷砖量热计时间校准,监测和性能运行2

The Tile Calorimeter is the central hadronic calorimeter of the ATLAS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider at CERN. This sampling device uses steel plates as absorber and scintillating tiles as activemedium. Its response is calibrated to the electromagnetic energy scale bymeans of several dedicated calibration systems. Accurate time calibration is important for energy reconstruction and non-collision background removal. The principle, procedure, and results of time calibration using collision data are presented. Monitoring of the time calibration with a laser system and collision data are discussed as well. Finally, the time resolution as measured with jets in Run 2 is presented.

Leptonic and semileptonic decays with taus at the Belle II experiment 贝尔2号实验中的轻子和半轻子衰变

Lepton flavour universality as predicted by the Standard Model is challenged by various measurements of meson decays involving tau and charged light leptons. The Belle II experiment started recording first collision data in spring 2018 and offers a unique laboratory to study lepton flavour universality in leptonic and semileptonic decays at high precision. Here we report the status of establishing first measurements of (semi) tauonic decays and preliminary results of the → gag channel using the available Belle II data, and discuss the future potential of investigating '( (∗) ) anomalies.

Quantum fields, strings, and physical mathematics 量子场、弦和物理数学

I briefly review several important formal theory developments in quantum field theory and string theory that were reported at ICHEP conferences in past decades, and explain how they underlie a new research area referred to as physical or quantum mathematics. To illustrate these ideas in some specific context, I discuss certain aspects of topological string theory and a recently discovered knots-quivers correspondence.

Constraining anomalous $ZH$ couplings using $Z$ polarization parameters 利用$Z$极化参数约束反常$ZH$耦合

We study the anomalous ZZH vertex contributing to the Higgsstrahlung process at the LHC and future e+e− colliders using the polarization of the Z as a probe. We calculate the eight independent polarization parameters of the Z boson by using the spin density matrix formalism. We estimate 1σ limits on the anomalous ZZH couplings using the angular asymmetries of leptons from Z decay which are simply related to the eight polarization parameters. We discuss the results for a) two possible c.m.energies ( √ s =) 250 GeV and 500 GeV for the e+e− colliders, with the possibility of polarized e+e− beams, b) LHC at √ s = 14 TeV.
