Changes in Islamic elementary schools (as known as madrasah ibtidaiyah) are a response to the strong demands and pressures in the world of education today. The increasingly open competition encourages madrasah ibtidaiyah to change the direction of its learning and management model, which is no longer top-down, but more accommodating. This research was conducted at MIN Malang 1 and MIN 2 Druju Malang Regency. Research conducted between 2018-2019 involved many informants, including the head of the madrasa, deputy head of the madrasa, teachers, educational staff, and guardians of students. The data used as the basis for analysis are the results of observations, interviews, and documentation studies. From the data analysis, it was found that changes in madrasah ibtidaiyah occurred not only in the curriculum aspect, but also in institutional management in general. This allows madrasah ibtidaiyah to compete with other educational institutions because they have adopted an interactive-accommodative education system by juxtaposing two kinds of education; religion and general. This study confirms that the changes that occur in madrasah ibtidaiyah are not only aimed at increasing competence so that they are able to compete openly with various existing educational institutions, but also in order to show themselves as the main choice of students in obtaining knowledge that is not limited to religious knowledge. However, changes like this have the opportunity to forget the substance of the change itself, namely the presence of a new form of education that is more accommodating and responsive. Therefore, a madrasah ibtidaiyah management model is needed that is able to respond to scientific and social challenges comprehensively in the future.

There is no one-size-fits-all answer to support the uniqueness of a student’s learning needs. Providing accessibility to enable every student to achieve the same learning goals is a critical issue to create an inclusive environment. This study investigated ways of science teachers met the challenges in providing accessibility for students in learning science. Ten participants from three Schools Providing Inclusive Education (SPIE): Schools Cerdas, Pintar, and Pandai in basic education level in the Province of Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta Indonesia were selected purposively. The participants were interviewed individually and in group to share their thought and experiences in meeting the challenges of learning accessibility for students with disabilities (SWD) in the science classrooms. As part of a qualitative case study, data were analyzed systematically and three themes were generated to discuss the findings, i.e., inclusive pedagogy, inclusive content, and inclusive technology. All participants considered how learning is achieved and provided the means to help students succeed. A syllabus was made available in all schools, although expectations were set low and learning objectives were not clearly defined and measurable. Collaborative teaching only existed in School Pandai with limited co-planning time. All teachers revisited science content and ensured it was set up for all students to meet their expectations. Science teachers in School Pandai created different worksheets based on the student’s needs as the main learning source, while other teachers in Schools Cerdas and Pintar claimed they had no time to vary science modalities. Although all teachers understood how SWD needs to interact with different tools, only teachers in School Pintar and Pandai utilized assistive technologies to help SWD in learning science.

Educational problems often occur at every level, including the elementary school level. Often found students who have bad morals, it reflects the occurrence of moral and ethical decadence. This happens because in learning only focus on the development of cognitive aspects, even though it must be balanced with the development of affective aspects. Efforts to overcome this are through the implementation of character education and optimizing it for elementary school age children. Educators can imitate the success of the Prophet Muhammad in educating. Therefore, researchers are interested in examining the book Islamic Parenting by Jamal Abdurrahman about the concept of education in children. The method used in this research is library research method using documentation data collection techniques. While the data analysis used is content analysis with data analysis model Milles and Huberman, the steps are data reduction, data presentation and conclusion/verification. The results showed that the concept of child education in the second stage (Age 4-10 years) and education in the third stage (Age 11-14 years) in the Islamic parenting book has relevance to character education for children aged (MI/SD), namely in terms of its integration with the curriculum or subject matter in MI/SD. Of the 10 character values, there are 9 character values that have relevance to character education. In addition, each class has relevance to the Islamic Parenting book.

The Indonesian adolescents’ knowledge on the subject of puberty is very limited according to a national data survey. This is the reason this study aims to increase knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors of healthy living during the puberty phase through the contextual teaching and learning (CTL) method of classroom action research with cyclical procedures. The participants were 20 students and a teacher of fifth-year at the elementary school; meanwhile, the object was knowledge about puberty, collected through test questions and observations. The data analysis technique was conducted in a quantitative and qualitative descriptive manner, and the result showed that the method used was able to improve the knowledge, attitudes, and healthy living behavior of fifth-grade students in SDIT Mutiara Insan. This is evident in the pre-cycle with a percentage of 5.3%, which further increased to 15.8% in the first cycle, while in the second cycle, it increased to 94.7%.

The shift from face-to-face learning to online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic has made printed teaching materials irrelevant. Teaching materials in online learning need to be designed to be more interactive in the form of electronic teaching materials in order to create two-way communication between teaching materials and students because online learning requires maximum learning autonomy from students. The irrelevance of existing teaching materials causes various learning problems in primary schools such as the teaching materials used do not encourage students' willingness to learn, some students experience learning backwards, and teachers need extra time to correct students' assignments. This study aims to develop electronic student worksheets based on Problem Based Learning (PBL) in primary schools. This development research refers to the ADDIE model as the model consists of systematic stages in an effort to solve learning problems according to the characteristics of the learner. The subjects of this study were 40 grade 3 students of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (Islamic Primary School) Pembangunan Lamongan. The results showed 1) the validity of the electronic student worksheets in the very valid category based on the assessments of linguists, material experts, design experts, and learning experts, 2) The attractiveness of electronic student worksheets in the very interesting category. Based on the results of this study, the use of electronic student worksheets is appropriate to be used to support the thematic learning process.

This study aims to improve the cognitive learning outcomes and the cooperation in science subjects during the 2018/2019 school year by utilizing an outdoor study method. Fourth-graders in SD N 1 Pengasih were used as the subjects in this Classroom Action Class study. The models used were that of Kemmis and McTaggart, which include three stages, namely Planning, Implementation, and Observation, as well as Reflection. Meanwhile, the data retrieval instruments used were Observation sheets, questionnaires, and test questions. Quantitative and qualitative methods were used to analyze the collected data. In action cycles I and II, the number of students who scored in the good or excellent category amounted to 47% and 94%, while the average achievement of indicator cooperation was 69% and 80%. The cognitive learning outcomes of science subjects students to reach the Minimum Mastery Criteria (KKM) were 59% and 82% for action cycles I and II, respectively.
