理化学研究所では,産業利用の現場における評価解析装置システムとして,さらに社会インフラを検査する屋外利用可能な可搬型計測システムとして広く利用されることを目標とし,小型中性子源システムRANS, RANS-II, RANS-III, RANS-µを開発している。多様なニーズに的確に対応するため,中性子源をさらに小型化,軽量化しながらも,中性子線の高い透過能と分解能を活かした高度な計測が実現しつつある。
