Challenges and Innovative Ideas to Improve Steelmaking in India 改善印度炼钢的挑战和创新思路

: India is on the threshold of being a world leader in steel production. In this context, India being the 4th largest producer of steel in the world is in a position to dominate the steel industry. This beng the case, Inida should concentrate more on innovate solutions to improve its steelmaking. However, there are a lot of challenges to be faced regarding production of quality steel in accordance with International norms. In this paper, some of the challenges are discussed and innovative solutions are given. Recent research on steelmaking has been given and progress in Indian steel making has been shown graphically Various types of steelmaking have been briefly touched upon and the challenges that India is facing have been outlined. India has to take up these challenges and is poised to be a world leader in steelmaking. Therefore, improvements and innovations become necessary and, innovative solutions are required in steel making in order to face the challenges of the future. This paper discusses these challenges from an Indian perspective. Data are given from literature indicating some of the innovations already made and some more innovative methods which are unique to the Indian situation are discussed. These ideas when implemented could result in higher and cleaner steel productivity. Future trends in steelmaking have also been suggested. It is hoped that the new ideas given in this work will benefit and the global steel industry in general and. Indian steel industry, in particular.

The Roles of Cloud-Based Supply Chain Integration on Firm Performances and Competitiveness 基于云的供应链集成对企业绩效和竞争力的影响

Cloud computing systems have emerged as a useful technology that contributes to this optimization SCI process by providing infrastructure, platform, and software solutions for the whole supply chain via the internet. But in developing regions like Ethiopia, there's a weak traditional, fragmental, non-integrated, weak, and underdeveloped supply chain process. There’s still space for research on real industrial applications where Ethiopian firms strive for cloud-based integration and implement new models and integration strategies practices in their supply chains. Thus, this study is designed to investigate the impacts of cloud computing technology on the supply chain integration process to improve the performance and comparative advantage of manufacturing industries in general, and the Ethiopian basic metal industry in particular. Using primary and literature survey data, the study has been carried-out through SPSS correlation and regression analysis methods. The study shows that the adoption and utilization of cloud-based services in supply chain integration leads to improvements in both the performance and competitiveness of the firm at regional and global levels. In particular, the cloud-based supply chain integration strategies provide enhanced resource utilization, reduce the constraints on information flow in the firm, increase product and service visibility, and create flexibility within systems within supply chain partners, and manufacturing industries as a whole. According to these investigations, cloud computing has a great impact on supply chain integrations so as to improve the performance and comparative advantage of the firm. Thus, effective and efficient utilization of cloud-based supply chain integrations has a higher positive impact on firm performance and competitiveness. Furthermore, this study demonstrates that data privacy, information risk, security issues, cloud architecture, process customization, and trust among collaborators must be prioritized for long-term supply chain systems and joint ventures in cloud-based supply chain integration.

A Systematic Review of Cloud Computing Adoption by Organisations 组织采用云计算的系统回顾

Cloud computing represents a paradigm shift in information technology outsourcing. The technology renders numerous benefits such as flexibility, cost reduction and scalability. Also, it presents organisations with the opportunity to conform to environmental management system. Several studies have applied different theories to investigate the factors that affect cloud computing adoption by organisations. However, the results are inconclusive. Therefore, this study systematically reviews factors influencing adoption the adoption of cloud computing by organisations. A total of 174 papers were reviewed from different databases such as Science direct, Emerald and IEEE Xplore. Consequently, 37 of these articles have been considered to come up with the most salient factors based on their frequency. The findings indicated that technology readiness, top management support, relative advantage, competitive pressure, compatibility, complexity and data security are the significant factors that affect cloud computing adoption in organisations. This review consolidates literature and can benefit decision makers in organisations who intend to adopt cloud computing technology. Furthermore, it has laid a foundation for a future part of this work which is conceptualising a model for cloud computing adoption in the upstream oil and gas sector.

Designing of Power Management requires the reduction of power dissipation in every section and unit of design system. During all these steps of designing process, it incorporates the constraints within the system and its performance. An embedded system inculcates rigid constraints to power consumption and memory of suitable size along with other terms like weight and cost. The basic Power consumption through embedded system based devices is a complex issue. The system always has to extend its battery or may reduce the environmental issues. Basically, it is a pure hardware issue. In latest development, an embedded system within its upgraded technology takes responsibility for all the power management. Embedded systems can be said to come into existence for specific purposes and should be optimized in order to meet all sorts of constraints. By constraint, it is meant to be system performance, timing, power and cost. The designing process of such system therefore involves many optimization techniques. In this paper, we will study and analyze the techniques, strategies, main advantages and disadvantages of applying optimization method of constraint problem in designing of embedded system. Also this will reviews the procedure of characterizing power management in minimizing power consumption.

An Empirical Analysis of Sustainable Denim Washing Technology in the Apparel Industries 服装行业可持续牛仔洗涤技术的实证分析

Over the last few decades, a lot of innovations and development works had already made denim “classic” in the fashion cycle. The modern consumers of today’s world are not only devoting themselves on clothing comfort but also emphasizing on economic and environmental sustainability. As a result, there has been increasing interests in terms of using environment friendly, non-toxic and highly biodegradable wet and dry process of denim washing technology, which is a combination of both the mechanical and chemical washing process. These are generally applied for denim garments and casual wearing. Without garment washing technology, apparels can’t draw proper attention on its end-users, just because it includes very few value added properties (such as hand feel, clothing comfort) with a view to attaining customer satisfaction. In addition, it improves the quality characteristics of apparels within low price margin. Some ecofriendly dry process of garments washing includes whiskering, hand sand, grinding, destroy effects. On the contrary, some wet process (such as enzyme wash, super white wash, bleach wash, acid wash, acid-stone wash, enzyme-stone wash and stone wash) utilizes very less amount of toxic dyes and chemicals. This research work simply made a general discussion related to the different types of garments dry and wet process. It also dealt with necessary apparatus, SOPs (Standard Operating Process), operational steps of sustainable and ecofriendly denim washing technology. Within limited global resources, it can help manufacturers and garments washing technologists to diversify the product and market of apparel trades.

In addition, it improves the quality characteristics of apparels within low price margin. Some ecofriendly dry process of garments washing includes whiskering, hand sand, grinding, destroy effects. On the contrary, some wet process (such as enzyme wash, super white wash, bleach wash, acid wash, acid-stone wash, enzyme-stone wash and stone wash) utilizes very less amount of toxic dyes and chemicals. This research work simply made a general discussion related to the different types of garments dry and wet process. It also dealt with necessary apparatus, SOPs (Standard Operating Process), operational steps of sustainable and ecofriendly denim washing technology. Performance Optimization of Super White Washed Stretch Denim Fabric by Deviating Washing Process Time and Machine RPM 超白水洗弹力牛仔织物的性能优化与洗涤时间和机器转速的变化

Over the last few decades, a lot of innovations and development works had already made denim “classic” in the fashion cycle. The modern consumers of today’s world are not only devoting themselves on clothing comfort but also emphasizing on economic and environmental sustainability. As a result, there has been increasing interests in terms of using environment friendly, non-toxic and biodegradable wet process such as super white wash. Though it enlarged higher consumer aspects and market opportunities in the denim washing technology, no research work had done yet regarding to super white wash. It can easily be applied to solid fabrics and finished garments. This research work was intended to analyze the physical and chemical changes of denim fabric while incorporating into super white wash at variable process parameters such as washing process time and machine rpm. Though its prime objective is to improve the whitening effect of textiles and apparels, it also can improve color strength (K/S), color fastness properties (color fastness to washing, color fastness to light, color fastness to perspiration), pilling resistance and fabric handle. In this article, it was demonstrated that all the fabric samples achieved gradual deterioration of tensile strength, tear strength and dimensional stability with the increase of washing process time and machine rpm up to a certain stage. Furthermore, the fabric samples showed better results regarding whitening index (WI), color strength (K/S), pilling resistance, fabric handle and color fastness properties with the gradual rise of washing process time and machine rpm. There were some notable changes in fabric GSM at the following washing conditions.

A Tool Tilt Angle Calculation Method in 5-axis Flat-end Milling for Free Surface Machining 自由曲面五轴平端铣削刀具倾角计算方法

This paper proposes a method for calculating the tilt angle of the tool and the machining strip width when the tool is inclined to the feed direction. Tilt angle of the tool and machining strip width are important factors which affect feed rate and machining quality in five-axis flat-end milling for free surface. There are some methods to calculate the tilt angle of the tool in five-axis flat-end milling for free surface, but mathematically complicated algorithm is applied to the calculation of tilt angle of the tool, so it is difficult to apply it in practice. We considered the geometry of the surface and the tool as well as the scallop height to determine the tool tilt angle, thus ensuring the tool to be contacted with the surface at two points. This allows us to calculate the tool tilt angle and the machining strip width by solving quadric equations based on the contact circle. Moreover, tool tilt angle and machining strip width are calculated analytically. Thus the speed of calculation is quick and easy to implement. An experiment of machining on the biquantic B-spline surface was performed and the results show that the proposed method has considerably higher machining efficiency than the CMM.

Studying the Possibility of the Destruction Control of Machine Parts by Applying Directed Sharp Concentrators 研究定向锐选矿机对机械零件破坏控制的可能性

The problem of preventing fatigue failure is highly relevant in all branches of engineering, especially for such structures, the failure of parts in which can lead to accidental effects. But this problem is becoming incredibly important recently due to the need of intensively increasing of the service life and reliability of machines during operation. As a rule, particular attention is paid to the study of the areas in the details with the sharp change in share and size, in which local zones with stress changes exist, leading to the appearance of cracks and, ultimately, to the destruction of these parts. The most extensive research in this area has been performed on various samples. However, the obtained results do not allow to describe the stress state and the stress concentrators with the help of analytical dependencies, especially in the case of sharp cuts and when superposition of stress concentrations, because they do not take into account the scale factor, state of material, etc. In particular, sharp depressions and small cuts (scratches), which do not reduce the strength of the material according to their concentration coefficients, are of special scientific interest, as well as the development of methods for controlling the destruction process. The usage of numerical methods (in particular, the finite element method) significantly expands the possibilities of analysis of stresses in the concentrators of samples and parts. However despite the results achieved, it is considered that it is still difficult to obtain a satisfactory solution for the stress field in the part’s concentrator, taking into account local design features. The article examines the stress state and fatigue resistance under bending loading of the on specially developed physical models of a crankshaft produced with different technologies, having a sharp decrease in the radii of fillets. Models with applied sharp concentrators of various geometries were tested. The performed studies allow to conclude that research in this direction is promising, since new knowledge about stress concentrators and their effect on the fatigue strength of full-scale parts can open up new reserves for increasing the fatigue strength of full-scale structures.
