Performance analysis and power allocation strategy in overlay cognitive networks 重叠认知网络的性能分析与功率分配策略

In this paper, we propose a power allocation strategy for overlay cognitive networks, where each node is equipped with single antenna. Owing to the overly strategy, the secondary user (SU) can help transmitting the primary user's (PU) data and meanwhile can convey itself own data with the superposition coding (SC). We first analyze the bit-error-rate (BER) of the PU and the SU Then, the power allocation strategy is devised by minimizing total power, providing that the BER of the PU and that of SU are guaranteed. Since the BER formulations are not convex, the optimization is difficult to conduct. We then propose two new tractable BER approximations for the PU and SU, which can sophisticatedly transfer the design into a convex problem. The solution can thus be obtained. Simulations verify that our power allocation design is validated for different channel environments.

In Source Separation research, "cocktail party problem" is a challenging problem that research into source separation aims to solve. Many attempts have been made to solve this complex problem. A logical approach would be to break down this complex problem into several smaller problems which are solved in different stages - each considering various aspects. In this paper, we are providing a robust solution to a part of the problem by localizing and tracking multiple moving speech sources in a room environment. Here we study the separation problem for unknown number of moving sources. The DUET-CBMeMBer method we outline is capable of estimating the number of sound sources as well as tracking and labelling them. This paper proposes a track management technique that identifies sound sources based on their trajectory as an extension to the DUET-CBMeMBer technique.

Smoothing of spatial filter by graph Fourier transform for EEG signals 基于图傅里叶变换的脑电信号空间滤波平滑

Spatial filtering is useful for extracting features from multichannel EEG signals. In order to enhance robustness of the spatial filter against low SNR and small samples, we propose a smoothing method for the spatial filter using spectral graph theory. This method is based on an assumption that the electrodes installed in nearby locations observe the electrical activities of the same source. Therefore the spatial filter's coefficients corresponding to the nearby electrodes are supposed to be taken similar values, that is, the coefficients should be spatially smooth. To introduce the smoothness, we define a graph whose edge weights represent the physical distances between the electrodes. The spatial filter spatially smoothed is found out in the subspace that is spanned by the smooth basis of the graph Fourier transform. We evaluate the method with artificial signals and a dataset of motor imagery brain computer interface. The smoothness of the spatial filter given by the method provides robustness of the spatial filter in the condition that the small amount of the samples is available.

Fetal ECG extraction using adaptive functional link artificial neural network 应用自适应功能链接人工神经网络提取胎儿心电

In this paper, a nonlinear adaptive noise canceller (ANC) based on the functional link artificial neural network (FLANN) is proposed for extracting fetal electrocardiogram (FECG). The FLANN is placed in parallel with an FIR filter. The two filters are designated to implement the linear and nonlinear mappings between the maternal ECG (MECG) and the composite abdominal ECG (AECG) acquired in the thoracic and abdominal areas, respectively. The AECG is used as the primary signal while the MECG serves as the reference signal in the ANC. The FLANN is essentially a linear combiner with nonlinear input, and thus enjoys many nice properties such as fast convergence, computational efficiency etc. The LMS algorithm is applied to the proposed ANC. Application to a real dataset reveals that the proposed system is quite effective and outperforms previous ANC with only FIR filters.

Fast and automatic body circular measurement based on a single kinect 基于单个kinect的快速自动身体圆周测量

The development of commodity depth camera such as Kinect has paved the way for low-cost human body measurement. The existing Kinect-based body measurement methods are too time-consuming since their purposes also include 3D reconstruction. In this paper, we present a Kinect-based simple but fast and effective solution that is tailored only for human body measurement. In particular, our method captures four views of a subject body and constructs a 3D point cloud for each view. The point clouds are then registered and merged to have a full body cloud on which the body measurements are estimated automatically. The experimental results show that our method requires much shorter execution time than the previous works while still producing measurements with comparable quality.

Blind median filtering detection based on histogram features 基于直方图特征的盲中值滤波检测

Recently, the median filtering (MF) detector has attracted much interest as a forensic tool to identify image editing process. In this paper, we propose a novel method for the blind detection of MF in digital images based on the histogram features. As histograms are fundamental resources and can present most image information, we propose to directly utilize them by taking several highest histogram bins of the residual images as features to carry out classification. To this end, multi-scaled rotation and symmetry invariant patterns are introduced as convolution kernels for various residual images calculation and histograms generation. The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified by extensive experiments on a large image database, and the experimental results demonstrate that, with only 21 features, the proposed method outperforms some state-of-the-art works.

Improvement of signal to noise ratio (SNR) in ECG signals based on dual-band continuous wavelet transform 基于双频连续小波变换的心电信号信噪比提高

For ECG signal analysis, a QRS detection algorithm is very important. The QRS detection algorithm consists of two steps, i.e., ECG preprocessing and ECG beat detection. In preprocessing step, noises in ECG signals are removed. The higher signal to noise ratio (SNR) after noise removal in preprocessing step leads to the less complicated algorithm in beat detection step and the increase in accuracy. However, ECG signals have various types in the real situation such as normal beat and premature ventricular contraction (PVC) beat. Each type of beat has its own frequency response. Therefore, we propose the dual-band continuous wavelet transform to maximize the SNR of ECG signals after noise removal in this paper. The proposed algorithm was evaluated with the ECG signals from MIT-BIH arrhythmia database. Results demonstrate the feasibility of the method.

Remote FxLMS algorithm for active control of sound in remote locations 远程FxLMS算法在远程位置的声音主动控制

Available adaptive control algorithms can only create a silent point at the locations of an error microphone. In this case, the error microphone occupies a part of the zone of quiet established around the silent point, resulting in an ineffective use of space in the zone of quiet. This paper develops a novel adaptive control algorithm for active control of sound in remote locations rather than the locations of error microphones. It establishes a link between the performance of the FxLMS adaptive algorithm in the digital control domain and the performance of the active noise control mechanism in the acoustic domain. The transfer function of an optimal controller that can minimize the acoustic pressure in a location away from the error microphone is first derived. For the realization of the proposed controller, an adaptive algorithm, called Remote FxLMS is then developed. Different computer simulations are used to show the efficiency of the proposed algorithm.

In this case, the error microphone occupies a part of the zone of quiet established around the silent point, resulting in an ineffective use of space in the zone of quiet. This paper develops a novel adaptive control algorithm for active control of sound in remote locations rather than the locations of error microphones. It establishes a link between the performance of the FxLMS adaptive algorithm in the digital control domain and the performance of the active noise control mechanism in the acoustic domain. The transfer function of an optimal controller that can minimize the acoustic pressure in a location away from the error microphone is first derived. For the realization of the proposed controller, an adaptive algorithm, called Remote FxLMS is then developed. Design and evaluation of a conversational agent for the touristic domain 旅游领域会话代理的设计与评价

This paper focuses on the design and evaluation of SARA, a conversational agent for the touristic domain featuring a high number of different, unique characteristics: spoken dialogue interaction, dialogue orchestration, context dependent information, an animated avatar and support for different kind of dialogue types, i.e. chat, specific and general question-answering, task oriented dialogues. The agent has currently two implementations: as web client and as mobile phone application. The paper describes the modules and resources required for running the agent on both interfaces, as well as the evaluation results obtained from two assessment studies concerning the interaction design of these two agent interfaces. The feedback gathered from the studies will enable us to improve the applications in terms of service, performance and usability.

MPEG activities for 3D video coding 用于3D视频编码的MPEG活动

In this paper, we introduce the 3D video coding research activities of the moving picture experts group (MPEG), the leading international standardization group for multimedia. Since 2001, MPEG has worked on a number of 3D video coding projects, notably, 3D audio-visual (3DAV), free-viewpoint television (FTV), multi-view video coding (MVC) and 3D video coding (3DVC). Such research works have significantly contributed to the 3D video processing industry. Since multi-view video and depth maps are critical parts of 3D video, the handling techniques of such components have evolved throughout the years. MPEG will continuously develop efficient standards for emerging 3D video applications.
