In order to reveal the typical sand source area reservoir, temporal and spatial distribution characteristics and correlation of nitrogen and phosphorus,it laid out 5 monitoring cross sections in the reservoir and analyzed the reservoir water quality by taking Dahekou Reservoir as the research area. The results show that the sandstorms and dust, the river water and reservoir upstream on temporal distribution, water thaw from April to June, the nutrient concentration detection of TN and TP is obvious rising in general; on the spatial distribution, from A-A and B- B sections of reservoir inlet to E- E section of the outlet,TN and TP concentration gradually reduce; on the vertical distribution of reservoir surface water and bottom water, nitrogen and phosphorus concentrations are higher than that of the middle layer water; the change law of unity between the TN and TP in the reservoir is a proportion exists in the reservoir; the temperature is an important factor that results in the change of TN and TP concentration; the growth of algae plays a role of inhibition of TN and TP; the change of the reservoir of TN and TP has basically nothing to do with DO content.
