While remarkable initiatives have been developed based on leveraging the latest technologies, these transformations have not been automatic and have occurred at an uneven speed. e transition to digital government is a significant management challenge. is article focuses on two management strategies to support that process: the creation of digital agenda agencies, as well as on new public service positions, such as Chief Information Officers and Chief Data Officers. e content includes an exposition of most common barriers to the success of digital governance projects, a description of functions of CIOs and IODs and a description of cases of specialized agencies in Denmark, the United Kingdom, and Uruguay.
