С гликозиды (СГ) были первыми лекарственными средствами, предложенными для терапии ХСН. Более 200 лет назад, в 1785 г. W. Withering описал полезные свойства растения наперстянка (Digitalis purpurea). На середину ХХ века пришелся расцвет применения этой лекарственной группы, были предложены для использования как пероральные препараты (Рulv. Fol. Digitalis, затем дигосин, дигитоксин, адонизид), так и препараты для внутривенного применения (корглюкон, строфантин). Однако после завершения исследования DIG-trial (1997) и по настоящее время эти препараты, кроме дигоксина (Диг), практически не применяют в связи с отсутствием доказательной базы, а твердая позиция последнего в терапии СН на сегодняшний день изрядно пошатнулась: препарат имеет узкое терапевтическое окно, множественные лекарственные взаимодействия и потенциально опасные нежелательные эффекты.

Assistive Technology, is, in a nutshell, technology for persons with disabilities. For example, there is a piece of software called "JAWS" that is a screen-reader, which literally reads the contents of the screen aloud for blind individuals. There are many other software packages and hardware devices we work with and attempt to provide to departments, students, and even faculty and staff to increase the accessibility to this institution for everyone.
