Determinants of Net Interest Margin in Commercial Banks in Viet Nam 越南商业银行净息差的决定因素

This riveting study dives into the dynamics of net interest margin (NIM) within Vietnam’s commercial banking sector from 2007-2018, offering fresh perspectives by considering factors like mergers and foreign ownership ratios. Our findings unveil a positive correlation between NIM and variables such as credit risk, risk aversion, loan-to-customer ratio, implicit interest rate, foreign equity ratio, and inflation. Conversely, NIM takes a hit with better management efficiency, during mergers, and in times of economic crises. Development of a Laboratory-Scale Steam Boiler for Polyurethane (Foam) Waste Recycling Machine 实验室规模聚氨酯(泡沫)废物回收机蒸汽锅炉的研制

In this paper, a laboratory-scale (small) Steam Boiler was designed and developed for a small-scale polyurethane recycling machine. A small-sized polyurethane machine was developed for the recycling of polyurethane foams to reduce wastes in the polyurethane production industries and also to reuse old discarded foams after their useful lives. It has been observed from studies carried out in many foam manufacturing industries that the polyurethane foam wastes generated from various plant operations are enormous. Also, polyurethane (foam) products are everywhere in our homes, industries and automobiles and are always discarded after their useful lives. These wastes need to be recycled always in other for them not to get back into our ecosystems thereby polluting our environment because polyurethane foams are non-biodegradables and can remain in the environment for a very long time. However, only a few companies with strong financial capabilities are able to embark on this venture because of the high costs of machinery and large quantities of chemicals involved. The high costs of machinery and chemicals also deter cottage industries from participating in the recycling of old and discarded polyurethane foams. Therefore, there is a need to develop small-scale polyurethane foam waste recycling machines to reduce the costs of machinery and chemicals involved in the recycling thereby allowing more participation in the recycling process. The boiler is used to generate high-temperature steam for curing and better bonding of the shredded foams. The heating chamber of the machine consists of the steam boiler, and pressure hose to enable passage of steam from the steam boiler into the molding box. The total volume of the boiler is 2.5 Litres. The outlet steam temperature is 135 0C and 25 psi pressure. The heat rate is 1.52 kJ/s. The recycled foams were able to cure and bonded better with the addition of steam compared to without the steam. Comparing the Performance of Molecular Docking Tools for HIV-1 Protease Inhibitors 比较HIV-1蛋白酶抑制剂分子对接工具的性能

Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) continues to pose a significant public health threat worldwide, disproportionately affecting marginalized and vulnerable populations despite advancements in prevention and treatment. One promising approach in the development of antiretroviral therapies is the inhibition of HIV-1 protease, a key enzyme in the virus life cycle. To this end, we evaluated 23 known inhibitors of HIV-1 protease using three docking methods - Autodock 4.2 (AD4), AutoDockVina (Vina), and a modified Vina (mVina)- and found that all three methods produced reasonable binding affinities for these ligands, but Vina performed best in terms of precision and docking success rates. Incremental Ensemble Learning Model for Imbalanced Data: a Case Study of Credit Scoring 不平衡数据的增量集成学习模型:以信用评分为例

Imbalanced data is a challenge for classification models. It reduces the overall performance of traditional learning algorithms. Besides, the minority class of imbalanced datasets is misclassified with a high ratio even though this is a crucial object of the classification process. In this paper, a new model called the Lasso-Logistic ensemble is proposed to deal with imbalanced data by utilizing two popular techniques, random over-sampling and random under-sampling. The model was applied to two real imbalanced credit data sets. Development of Decentralized Speed Controllers for a Differential Drive Wheel Mobile Robot 差动驱动轮移动机器人分散速度控制器的研制

This research presents a comprehensive mathematical model and a control-oriented model for a differential drive wheel mobile robot (DDWMR). The components and their interconnection within the robot are thoroughly modeled. The proposed mathematical models are used to analyze the characteristics of the robot. The control-oriented model is a simplified one which will be used to design speed controllers. The performance of the proposed system is evaluated through four case studies, focusing on both stand-alone motor systems and the entire DDWMR. The tracking performance is evaluated using metrics such as absolute error integration and root mean square error. Simulation results show that under ideal step command, the pole-zero cancellation PI speed controller achieves the best tracking performance, while PID controllers obtained from Matlab’s Auto-tuning App perform best for standalone motor systems. For motors in a DDWMR, the PID controller with parameters derived from the Ziegler-Nichols tuning rules provides optimal tracking performance. These simulation results show that there is no universal controller that can achieve the best performance in all situations; rather, each controller is suited to specific circumstances. Computational Investigations of an Internally Heated Convective-Radiative Porous Fin subjected to Magnetic Field: Comparative Methods and Parametric Studies 磁场作用下内加热对流辐射多孔翅片的计算研究:比较方法和参数研究

The concern of this paper is to compare the computational efficiencies and accuracies of three approximate analytical methods; namely, homotopy analysis method (HAM), optimal homotopy asymptotic method (OHAM) and differential transform method (DTM) for the nonlinear thermal performance analysis of a convective-radiative porous fin with temperature-dependent internal heat generation under the influence of magnetic field. To establish the computational accuracies of the three methods, the results of the three series solutions are compared with the results of the developed exact analytical and numerical methods. Also, the symbolic solutions developed in this work are used to explore the impacts of the controlling parameters on the performance of the passive device. It is established that as the coductive-convective, conductive-radiative and magnetic field parameters increase, the fin temperature distribution decreases and hence, the fin thermal efficiency is improved. An increase in temperature distribution in the fin is noticed as the nonlinear thermal conductivity parameter increases. Power consumption by telecommunication industrial loads is increasing day by day as the user of this technology is on the rise. Telecommunication base station towers are consuming twice or more energy than in the past for the implementation of high-capacity devices to serve more users. As a result, there is an extra power requirement for the telecommunication loads which can cause an inadequate power supply and lead to the implementation of additional infrastructure in the power industry. Powering these resources will demand more energy production and introduce various types of new problems in the grid network. The impact analysis of the effect of this extra demand in a regular network system has great interest. Also, most of the base stations are equipped with a backup battery as an essential need in third-world country grids and contribute a portion of the load demand of a power distribution system. All telecommunication industrial towers are considered under industrial load and have a special industrial tariff imposed by the power supply authority. This paper utilizes the optimal power flow method to calculate a proposed schedule base demand-side management system adopted to shift the pattern of charging batteries along with temperature control loads in the telecommunication towers and outlines an analytical study on a test power grid network. To determine the best electricity flow, generation, and locational marginal prices for each hour, an algorithm is created. Following careful evaluation of the appliance status, the constraint and condition are then applied to the load curve. Isogeometric Buckling Analysis of The Magneto-electro-elastic Foam Plates Resting on An Elastic Foundation 弹性基础上电磁弹性泡沫板的等几何屈曲分析

This study combines the isogeometric approach (IGA) and refined plate theory (RPT) with two variables to investigate buckling behavior of magneto-electro-elastic (MEE) foam plates resting on an elastic foundation. The pores in the MEE foam plates are arranged in three patterns: uniform, symmetric, and asymmetric distributions across the plate thickness. The elastic foundation supported by Winkler and Pasternak is utilized to approach computational model. The governing equations are derived by using RPT and Hamilton’s principle. The Non-Uniform Rational B-Splines (NURBS) basic functions in the IGA method are used to approximate the displacement fields, magnetic and electric potentials. The critical buckling load of the MEE foam plates is determined by solving the above governing equations with the help of the IGA. The study investigates and discusses the influence of various parameters such as the porosity distributions, porous coefficient, external electric voltage and magnetic potential, spring/shear coefficients of the elastic foundation, and the geometry of the MEE foam plates on the critical buckling load. The results show that these parameters significantly influence the buckling behavior of the MEE foam plates. A Moving Kriging Meshfree Method for The Vibration Analysis of Homogenous Magneto-electro-elastic Plates 均质磁电弹性板振动分析的移动Kriging无网格法

The free vibration analysis of the homogenous magneto-electro-elastic (MEE) plate based on a refined first-order shear deformation theory and moving Kriging meshfree method is presented in this paper. The refined first-order shear deformation theory (RFSDT) only includes four variables and reduces one variable when comparing to original first-order shear deformation theory. The MEE materials which are coupled between piezoelectric and piezomagnetic effects, are combined of BaTiO3 and CoFe2O4 materials. The magnetic and electric potentials satisfying to the Maxwell equations are assumed to be a combination of cosine and linear variations along the plate thickness. The coupled governing equations of motion of the MEE plates are obtained by using the principle of extended virtual displacement. These equations are solved to achieve the natural frequency of MEE plates by utilizing the moving Kriging meshfree method. In the thermal analysis of moving fins, there have been conflicting results as well as discussion on the effects of Peclet number on the thermal responses of fins. While some authors agreed the increase in Peclet number, increases the fin temperature, the other class of researchers is of the opinion that when the Peclet number increases, the fin temperature decreases. It could be said that many of these divergence views arose from the physics of the problem as well as the mathematical model governing the heat transfer problem. Therefore, in this work, through modeling from the first principle, the effect of Peclet number on the thermal behaviour of convective-radiative moving porous fin is explored. First, a transient thermal model of a convective-radiative rectangular moving porous fin with temperature-dependent internal heat generation is developed. The developed thermal model is nondimensionalized to bring up the needed Peclet number in the dimensional governing equation of the heat transfer process. Thereafter, the model is solved analytically using the Laplace transform method and the effect of Peclet number on the thermal behaviour of the fin is investigated and discussed.
