Fair resource allocation for inband relaying in LTE-Advanced LTE-Advanced带内中继的公平资源分配

In this work, we investigate the issue of fair resource allocation in relay-enhanced wireless networks. Our focus is on Type-1 relays as proposed for LTE-Advanced. The latter operate as inband relays, i.e., the backhaul and access link must share resources in the time domain. For the case of full buffer traffic on the downstream, we demonstrate how the data flow from the network to the terminals can be arranged in a fair manner. This includes different strategies for resource partitioning at the macro base station, as well as frequency-selective scheduling at both base station and relay nodes.

On coefficient memory co-optimization for channel estimation in a multi-standard environment (LTE and DVB-H) 多标准环境下(LTE和DVB-H)信道估计的系数内存协同优化

This paper presents a novel memory optimization technique to exploit the analogy between correlation coefficients in MMSE-based channel estimators across multiple standards. The need for coefficient storage for robust MMSE channel estimators is expensive in terms of on-chip memory. Besides, the memory requirements grow linearly by integrating more standards onto one platform. Thus, it becomes inevitable to address the increased on-chip memory problem for such estimators. In this paper, we have shown that by exploiting the inherent similarities between LTE and DVB-H design parameters, a three-fold memory optimization may be achieved with minimal performance loss.

PHY modifications of IEEE 802.11 systems for transmission at very low SNR 在极低信噪比下传输的IEEE 802.11系统的PHY修改

Consumer electronic devices based on IEEE 802.11 are widely-used in home networks. Recent evolution of IEEE 802.11 mainly focused on increased data rates. Besides, the transmission of control information in smart home networks is gaining increasing importance with the emergence of the “Internet of Things”. This scenario demands robust and reliable transmission at low signal to noise ratio (SNR) while allowing for lower data rates. Therefore, this paper presents physical layer (PHY) modifications of IEEE 802.11 systems to increase the SNR robustness and communication range by reusing common system components. The performance of the presented modifications is evaluated in terms of resulting bit-error-rate (BER).

Unified framework for flexible multi-carrier communication systems 柔性多载波通信系统的统一框架

The design of efficient architectures for Multi-Carrier (MC) communication systems can be a challenging task when it involves the adoption of Filter-Bank Multi-Carrier (FBMC) modulation techniques. The main design issues found in FBMC systems are generated by the incorporation of band-limited shaping pulses. Yet, these pulses have many advantages in terms of performance, such as providing either improved spectral confinement or no frequency overlap between adjacent subcarriers. They also benefit from robustness in front of narrowband interferences, and reduced out-of-band power emission, among others. However, the advantages of FBMC schemes are often obscured when it comes to the implementation point of view. This is particularly true for the flexible FBMC systems, where on top of incorporating band-limited shaping pulses, no restrictions are imposed on the signal parameters (i.e. symbol rate, carrier spacing or sampling frequency). In this context, the present paper will provide a unified framework to describe flexible FBMC signals when both signal design and implementation criteria are combined.

Two-step resource sharing and uplink power control optimization in LTE-Advanced relay networks LTE-Advanced中继网络中的两步资源共享与上行功率控制优化

Relay enhanced networks are expected to fulfill the demanding coverage and capacity requirements in a cost-efficient way. Type 1 inband relaying is now being standardized as an integral part of 3GPP LTE-Advanced. This type of relay nodes supports a relaying mode where the relay link transmission is time-division multiplexed with the access link transmission, whereas macro users share the same resources with the relays. Hence, system performance depends strongly on the resource sharing strategy among and within the links. Besides, in order to fully exploit the benefits of relaying, the inter-cell interference, which is increased due to the presence of relay nodes, should be limited via a proper power control scheme on each link. Therefore, an optimization of both the resource sharing and power control strategy is required to enhance the overall performance of relay networks. In this paper, performance evaluation of two-step resource sharing and power control optimization is carried out within the LTE-Advanced uplink framework in urban and suburban scenarios. Furthermore, we propose a combination of scheduling based on the number of relay-served users and throughput throttling achieving max-min fairness. Results show that the proposed scheme achieves significant throughput gains and high system fairness.

This paper gives an introduction to a generic OFDM based testbed for positioning using time difference of arrival (TDoA) measurements. An overview of the transmitter system and receiver system is given. Furthermore an inital access algorithm with interference mitigation for subsample delay estimation is presented and simulation results are shown. The influence of the geographic base station mapping and the used synchronization codes is discussed. First measurement results reveal perliminary figures for the expected performance leading to further algorithm investigations.

An initial ranging scheme for IEEE 802.16 based OFDMA systems 基于IEEE 802.16的OFDMA系统的初始测距方案

The IEEE 802.16 family of standards for nomadic wireless metropolitan area networks adopts orthogonal frequency-division multiple-access as an air interface. In these systems, timing errors between the uplink signals and the base station time scale reference give rise to interchannel interference as well as multiple-access interference, which severely degrade the error-rate performance. In this work, we present a novel ranging scheme for initial uplink synchronization in an IEEE 802.16 based system. In contrast to existing alternative methods, our approach provides better results by properly taking into account the effects of multipath distortions on the received waveform. Numerical simulations are used to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed solution.

Outage capacity based link adaptation for BICM-OFDM with imperfect CSI 不完全CSI下基于中断容量的BICM-OFDM链路自适应

Adapting the modulation, power and channel code to the current channel state for OFDM systems is an important topic for future wireless data transmission to fully utilize the given channel conditions. The consideration of practical channel codes in Link Adaptation schemes is still under investigation, especially if imperfect knowledge of the channel conditions is assumed. In this paper, the ramifications of imperfect channel knowledge on capacity based Link Adaptation will be discussed and a solution will be proposed. In particular, robustly adapting the LTE turbo code employed in this paper was found to be extremely important for the overall performance of the system.

Constrained indoor distributed cooperative positioning 受限室内分布式协同定位

The indoor environment offers different constrains that stimulate cooperative methods to improve positioning accuracy. An important constraint indoors is the high density of potentially cooperating devices compared to outdoors. Indoor could also make use of outdoor positioned mobile nodes by using or exploiting peer-2-peer (P2P) connectivity. The P2P connectivity indoors only supports the ubiquitous indoor positioning experience itself. In this paper we investigate cooperative positioning with distributed algorithms to improve the accuracy indoors.

A hybrid mode user-location-aware network MIMO with limited feedback for cellular downlink 基于蜂窝下行链路的有限反馈混合模式用户位置感知网络MIMO

MIMO downlink with base station coordination in a cellular network is considered. In centralized coordinated transmission from a cluster of base stations, the channel state information (CSI) of users needs to be sent to a central processor for precoding and resource allocation. Real time CSI feedback from the users to their home base station and from the base stations to the central processor is a serious challenge from a practical point of view. A hybrid mode transmission scheme with reduced feedback requirement exploiting user location information and cell sectorization is proposed, in which some users are served using single-cell multiuser MIMO (MU-MIMO) approach and some using the network MIMO approach. Using a virtual MIMO downlink channel model the feedback requirement, complexity of user scheduling and precoding/power allocation with most multiuser MIMO precoding techniques is substantially reduced compared to the corresponding case using full CSI. Dirty paper coding (DPC) and zero forcing beamforming (ZFBF) precoding techniques are used to demonstrate the performance of the hybrid mode network MIMO technique.
