— Nutrition is one of the factors that influence the achievement of North Sumatra sportsmen, so it needs to be considered and adjusted for nutritional needs with physical activity during the training program. This study aims to obtain models of sports nutrition development that can improve achievement. The research method used is qualitative methods with a descriptive approach. The study population was all North Sumatra sports that competed in the 2016 National Sports Week in West Java. The research sample is the 3 sports that won the most gold medals, namely Wushu, Karate, and Pencak Silat. The technique of obtaining data is by using questionnaires, interviews, documentation, and group discussion forums (FGD). Test the validity of the data, namely with credibility, transferability, dependability, and confirmability. The results showed that the model of sports nutrition development was carried out with balanced nutrition techniques consisting of carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins, minerals, and water. The guidance model is applied based on the calorie needs of athletes with the right source of nutrition. Athletes' calories are measured by Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR).

Archery athletes train physically and technically to be able to make a full series of bow-pulls, but athletes who can make good movements during training may not be able to do it perfectly during matches. The athlete’s concentration can be disturbed by various things when competing and affect the athlete’s performance and achievement. The ability to concentrate is something that can be trained through mental training. This study aims to examine whether there is an effect of progressive muscle relaxation, as one method of mental training, on the concentration of archery athletes. This study uses an experimental method with a pretest-posttest control group design. The subjects of this study were 12 UNIMED Archery Club athletes who were divided into experimental and control groups. The instrument used to measure an athlete’s concentration is the Grid Concentration Exercise. Data obtained by doing pretest and posttest in both groups. The Progressive Muscle Relation Treatment was given only to the experimental group. Wilcoxon Test analysis results showed there were differences in concentration scores between after and before treatment in the experimental group, meaning that the hypothesis “there is an effect of progressive muscle relaxation on concentration in Archery athletes” was accepted. The experimental group had an average gain score higher than the control group, it showed that progressive muscle relaxation had an effect on increasing the concentration of Archery athletes.

This research aims to develop a model of basic skill test for talent scouting soccer athlete candidates of age group of 10-11 years which is valid and reliable. This research is research and development adapting research measures proposed by Borg and Gall (2007, p.590) including: (1) introductory study and data collection, (2) planning and conducting research, (3) product validation, (4) trying out of the product, (5) revisions of the product, and (6) product implementation. The try out of the initial product was conducted to 30 students. The try out of the main product was conducted to 416 students from various elementary schools (SD) sampled using the cluster sampling technique. The data validity is calculated using with Pearson’s Product Moment correlation and the reliability was calculated using the test-retest of Cronbach's Alpha. The Z score was used to equalize the form of units. The results of this research and development include a model of basic skill test for talent scouting soccer athlete candidates of age group of 10-11 years. The talent test model is fit for use, because it is valid and reliable, with the raccount score bigger than rtabel score. The model of basic skill test for talent scouting soccer athlete candidates of age group of 10-11 years includes the assessment scales (norms) that are packed in the effective and efficient guidebook (module) and visualization/tutorial tests (CD) that can be used as a manual of the soccer academy coaches in the process of scouting prospective athletes with different levels of talent.

— Learning with a multilateral approach presents the basics of sports movements in children through adjusting children's abilities to the movement techniques, equipment and rules used as well as with pleasant variations. Movement technique means that children are not required to make technical movements like in real sports, but what is important is the basic aspects of simple biomechanics. Multilateral development is a comprehensive development in the phase of children (Childhood) associated with the development of various physical conditions and sports skills as a foundation towards special development (specialization) and high achievement, but that in Indonesia there are still many physical education educators who have not seen children as children both in terms of size and physical and mental abilities. The objectives to be achieved in this study are to improve the quality of learning in aquatic sports on an ongoing basis. Targets to be achieved are produced in the form of a standard model of aquatic sports learning through a multilateral approach, model procedure manuals and work instructions can be used as targets or references for each variable in the development of aquatic sports for all sport stakeholders. The method used is Research and Dependovment (Borg and Gall: 1989) or development research which is grouped in 3 stages, namely (1) Pre-Development Phase includes; analysis of needs and preparation of model documents, (2) Development Phase includes, development of aquatic sports learning models through multilateral approaches and their evaluation instruments through FGD, followed by small sample trials, large group trials and (3) implementation stages include; implementation of aquatic sports learning models to the object of research, namely schools or associations of fostered aquatic sports.

— This study aims to determine the increase in chest pass learning outcomes in basketball through the application of a problem based learning model with a scientific approach. The subjects in this study were 32 students of class X-1 of SMA Negeri 5 Tanjung Balai. This type of research is classroom action research. To obtain the data in this study, a learning achievement test I and a learning achievement test II took the form of the application of the basic technique of a Basketball chest pass as much as two meetings. After the data is collected and analyzed, the results of the analysis are obtained: (1) In the first cycle after the first learning achievement test, it can be seen that from 32 students who were the subjects in this study, only 19 students (59.38%) already had mastery learning, while the remaining 13 students (40.62%) do not have mastery learning. The average value obtained only reached 73.34. (2) In the second cycle it can be seen that apparently of 32 students, there were 27 students who completed (84.38%) who had mastery learning, while the rest 5 students (15.62%) did not have mastery learning. The average value obtained reached 80.09. Based on that, it can be concluded that using a problem based learning model with a scientific approach can improve learning outcomes of Chest pass in the basketball game for grade X students of SMA Negeri 5 Tanjung Balai in the 2014/2015 academic year.

This study aims to simplify the implementation of the reaction speed test where the tools developed are simplified because remembering the measurement tool of the reaction speed test that was previously very minimal procurement for the tool is also a high price in the financing of the tool, so that with this research can help trainers in carrying out physical conditions tests specifically in the reaction speed test instrument in the Tarung Derajat sport. The research method is a development research method. This research was conducted through 3 stages of research, namely pre-development, development and application in different groups. The study population was Tarung Derajat athletes from POPNAS, POMNAS, Pra-PON North Sumatra. The sampling technique uses purposive sampling and there are 20 people. The control group was 20 Pra-PON athletes. The instrument used was the data analysis technique of the Hand & Foot Speed Reaction tool using the T test. The results of the study concluded: with the development of a tool simplified to the hand and foot reaction speed test it is expected that there will be the same results as the developed instrument so that the tool can later used by trainers and KONI district cities in terms of physical condition tests specifically on the test of the reaction speed of the hands and feet of Tarung Derajat Athletes.
