The increasing number of smart phones is leveraging changes of business landscapes in the Internet. This demonstrates the importance of business model engineering in the post-PC era. The author proposes the hypothesis of mobile persuasive strength. Using this hypothesis, the author provides a strength analysis of the Mobile Gang of Four: Apple, Google, Amazon, and Facebook. The analysis provides a systematic trend analysis of the key mobile business players. The author then presents the implications of the hypothesis of mobile persuasive strength for today's business model engineering.

Understanding of damage information in disaster situation is the most important role for emergency response headquarters in order to provide relief action. Although responder in actual large-scale disaster situation could not deal damage situation easily that is ascribable to difficulty for understanding of spatiotemporally damage information. This paper proposes a GIS based disaster situation displaying and sharing approach system for represent disaster damage information at emergency response headquarters in large-scale disaster, to provide association between geolocation and multimedia content which is taken into disaster affected area. Our approach presents images of damage situation upon digital map on a high resolution single and large sized display, allows helping of damage by detail of damage situation in specific area not only showing it. We designed system architecture, use case of system and human computer interaction under operation for damage situation collection on large scale tiled display system. This system can be connected multiple counter disaster sites each other with disaster controlling network in an effort to share digital pictures and/or videos of disaster situation. We also discuss task oriented intuitive input method for our disaster information GIS. We will use some tablet devices in each site to make considerations interaction of system with multiple users.

Extracting and understanding of emotion is of high importance for the interaction among human and machine communication systems. The most expressive way to display the human's emotion is through facial expression analysis. This paper presents and implements an automatic extraction and recognition method of facial expression and emotion from still image. To evaluate the performance of the proposed algorithm, we assess the ratio of success with emotionally expressive facial image database. Experimental results shows average 66% of success to analyze and recognize the facial expression and emotion. The obtained result indicates the good performance and enough to applicable to mobile environments.

A web-based tool for creating web sites is presented where clients and designers work together toward their goal. It is similar to gomockingbird.com with respect to being fully online and capable of sharing half-cooked web pages among the clients and designers. The present tool is different from mockingbird with respect to the way the clients interact with the designers. We allow for dynamic components built on the web pages so that the clients can check how they dynamically look to the users. Feedback from the clients can be placed as comments on the pages so that the clients operation may not destroy the pages. This tool is written in JavaScript and HTML5.

Supporting end-to-end quality of service (QoS) for video applications requires the network to select optimum path among multiple paths to improve application performance. Multiple network paths from source to destination may be available but due to the current network high coupling design identifying alternate paths is difficult. Network architecture, like Integrated services (IntServ), installs a single path from source to destination which may not be the optimum path for the application. Furthermore, it is an arduous task for video application developers to request service from IntServ. This paper provides three contributions to research on providing end-to-end QoS for video applications. First, it presents video over software defined networking (VSDN) - an architecture that is capable of making optimum path selection utilizing a global network view. Second, it describes the VSDN protocol used by video application developers to request service from VSDN enabled networks. Third, it presents the results of implementing a prototype of VSDN and quantitatively evaluates its behavior. The prototype illustrates that requesting video service from VSDN is simple for the video application developer. The results show that VSDN has a linear-message complexity.

By the rapid adoption of information terminals such as tablets and smart phones, people having multiple wireless communication terminals are expected to increase the access and traffic amount. In public facilities, hot spots, and university campuses, the coverage area of the wireless Access Points (APs) is limited because of high cost. Therefore, it is difficult to provide stable network connectivity. In this paper, we focus on the improvement of the coverage in our university campus using network simulation and site survey for wireless APs. Based on simulation results, we also propose an optimized AP placement for the improvement of connectivity in our campus. Based on experimental results, we noticed that the received power is non-uniform during some situations.

This research has declared the constructs of smart mobile application (below app) assessment and developed mobile app assessment model accordingly, providing a theoretical foundation for the smart mobile app assessment. The majority of existing assessment models are developed according to the web sites and generally the researches on the assessment models are preceded under the premise of web sites. Researches about the mobile app on it are the interface, usability and acceptance factors were the majority whilst researches on the mobile app assessment model are significantly inadequate. Thus we develop SMAPL, analyzing the constructs of mobile app and expressed in hierarchical order, to investigate that the constructs of mobile app for the first time is memorable.

One of the key advantages of Wireless Mesh Networks (WMNs) is their importance for providing cost-efficient broadband connectivity. There are issues for achieving the network connectivity and user coverage, which are related with the node placement problem. In this paper, we use a Simulated Annealing (SA) system for mesh router node placement in Wireless Mesh Networks (WMNs). We compare the system performance for Exponential and Weibull distributions of mesh clients. Simulation results show that best results are obtained where the value of temperature is 1 and for Weibull distribution of mesh clients. While, when we increase temperature value there are oscillations and the optimal solution is not reached.

In recent years, we have witnessed the influx of data driven by the exponential use of digital video, music, and mobile applications. The combination of the internet, mobile technologies and social media applications has been the most influential factor in the emergence of Big Data paradigm. Given that online activities of mobile users constitute the major contributors to the Big Data analytics, which significantly benefit various business enterprises, it is also interesting to look at how the information derived may also be useful for mobile users, and how it can be delivered in the most effective, and efficient manner. These will be the key points of discussion in this paper.
