The study of the gyroscope method, facial expressions and mental commands using the Emotiv Epoc+ headset for driving indicator led is presented. The analog electrical signal provided by the inertial gyroscope located in the Emotiv headset, with the XY angular displacement and PITCH and JAW rotation, as well as the electrical pulses of cranial nerve VII associated with facial expressions and finally the extraction of the EEG signal acquired from the user's brain, are used to activate the output of indicator leds by developing a control program using Xavier Control Panel, Xavier Emokey and Visual Studio software. The electrical activation by means of the Emotiv Epoc+ headset favors several applications that can be explained with the leds and Arduino nano board interface.

Spiders produce a wide range of multipurpose silk fibers that are composed of Fibroin (Xiaonan et.al., 2016) with hydrophilic, biodegradable, biocompatible and high-strength properties. On the other hand, silver nanoparticles have remarkable properties, and their morphology can be controlled and strongly influenced by the experimental conditions, generating an effect on their antimicrobial capacity. The present work proposes a successful experimental sequence for the incorporation process of Silver Nanoparticles synthesized from Aloe Vera extract in Spider (Paraphidippus aurantius) silk. Once the spider web is clean and sanitized, it is submerged in a solution of Silver Nanoparticles (Solomon et al., 2007), to be subjected to sonication in order to achieve incorporation.

Lactuca sativa commonly known as lettuce is a food that provides few calories due to its high water content and fewer carbohydrates, proteins and fats. The main problem with this crop is that during its cycle it is attacked by a range of fungi (Fusarium spp., Pythium sp., Alternaria alternata., among others) and bacteria (Erwinia sp, Burkholderia sp, among others); this leads to excess use of pesticides, economic losses and damage to the environment. Therefore, sustainable control strategies are sought to mitigate the spread of diseases and stimulate the optimal development of the plant. Ecofungicides were made based in: Ricinus communis “higuerilla”; Chamaemelum nobile “manzanilla” with Allium sativum “ajo”; Ruta graveolens “ruda”; as well as Bordeaux broth as a craft product and a synthetic product. The randomized complete block experimental design and the Tukey multiple means comparison (p≤0.05) showed tha in Ricinus communis based ecofungicide favors, on average, the height per plant (18.89 cm), the diameter per plant (36.29 cm); the number of leaves per plant (15.50 cm), the leaf width (19.85), the leaf length (17.76 cm) and therefore, a final weight of 1.43 kg per healthy plant was reported. It´s concluded that higuerilla treatment at a dose of 0.33 ml in 1 liter of water increases the productivity of Lactuca sativa L. and decreases the incidence of phytopathogenic fungi.

Motion difficulties, specifically the walk and displacement, are very common afflictions, mainly caused by some type of injury. The recurrent kind of rehabilitation treatments involve exercises of active and passive mobility. The success in the treatment and the early return to sports activity depends largely on the rehabilitation process. This should begin immediately after the production of the wound or the surgical process to repair the damage. The objective of this work is to develop a low-cost, easy manufacturing and assembly device, capable of providing exercises of active mobility. We designed an affordable and adaptable six-bar Watt linkage, coupled to a conventional leg extension machine. Structural and dynamic studies determine its safeness and its efficiency. The results of the kinematic and dynamic studies showed that the available range of motion for the different configurations goes from 24° to 109°. Its structural integrity was analyzed, pointing out that the weakest link had a Factor of Safety of 1.3, while the highest presents a value of 14.7, so that, the material overpasses the load needs. Based on the obtained results, a six-bar linkage is a viable option for the development of low-cost, therapeutic active devices.

There are several models that emulate the mechanical behavior of biological tissues. Its automation, new materials and manufacturing techniques will enable its use in the near future. This research is based on the use of compressed air in pneumatic muscles that actuate the phalanges. The research is important because it proposes a system that adapts to the needs and economic accessibility or people with limited resources. The problem to solve is that it meets certain standards such as: stable grip and pressure and that it adapts to irregularly shaped objects with more natural movements. The principle of communicating vessels and the force exerted by a fluid on the walls of the container that is used. Consequently, the fluid exerts pressure in all directions. The prosthesis with the design of the Flexy Hand 2 is manufactured by inserting pneumatic muscles to each of the fingers connecting them by means of nylon ropes that are attached to the homemade pneumatic muscles connected to a common manifold, regulating the pressure by means of a valve and a degree of freedom. As a result of the above, it can be concluded that the prototype worked favorably.

In Mexico, according to data from the ENSANUT, 2012, 6.4 million of Mexicans were diagnosed with diabetes mellitus (DM). Currently, there are several reports in the scientific literature supporting the use of plants for the treatment of T2DM. Justicia spicigera (JS) is widely distributed in Huasteca Potosina and its ethanolic extract (EEJS) has recently been shown that it has a hypoglycemic effect in normoglycemic rats and streptozotocin-induced DM model; however only its acute toxicity has been evaluated. therefore, it is necessary to evaluate the toxicity for prolonged periods. Oral toxicity was evaluated by repeated dose administration model for 30 days. The results showed that administration of EEJS induced mild adverse effects, particularly related to behavioral abnormalities. Additional experiments are currently being carried out in our laboratory to evaluate its chronic toxocity.

The sistodiastolic dysfunction of the heart measured through global ejection of the left ventricle as systolic parameter and the ventricular rapid filling plus the time of ventricular total filling as parameters of function diastólica are informational facts of complementary examinations of high sensibility and specificity for this type of study. It was established a relationship between the fraction of left ventricular ejection global and segment, measured for ventriculografía radioisotópica of balance, with the disorders electrocardiográficos in chronic chagásic patients. It is possible to conclude that while major alteration exists in the fraction of ventricular ejection, major abnormal variations exist in the electrocardiography of the chronical chagasic patients. Those who presented complete block of right branch show the possible existence of association in the deterioration of the fraction of ejection apicoseptal, aspect that would allow to conclude that the complete blockade of right branch can be a variable predisposed. The statistical analysis of the fraction of ejection apical that was found shows that the decrease of this region has a statistical force with the electrocardiografic deterioration complete blockade of right branch more front left hemibloqueo, This scientific evidence is confirmed across the statistical and epidemiological evidence which indicators allow to observe a major prevalency in 66 % and a major association of 1.51 times of complete Blockade of Right Branch more front left hemibloqueo in relation to other segments.

The effect of cadmium in the root architecture of Cucumis sativus L. seedlings was determined. Primary root length and lateral root density of C. sativus L. seedlings exposed to 10, 20, 30, 50 and 100 ppm concentrations of Cd2+ was monitoring. The results show that at high concentrations of Cd occurs a lower growth in primary root length, where 50 and 100 ppm of Cd concentrations inhibit the primary root elongation. On the other hand, lateral root density formed increased when seedlings were exposed to higher concentrations of Cd2+. In 100 ppm treatment the highest lateral root density (19.2) was observed almost five times higher than control (4.0). The C. sativus L. root architecture is most affected at 50 and 100 ppm of Cd2+,

Currently in the country there are more than 27 thousand cases of annual amputations and more than 80% correspond to lower limbs, therefore, the demand for prosthetic equipment is greater than what the health sector institutions can provide. It should be noted that the equipment developed by these institutions is only passive equipment, so that only 10% of patients who receive a prosthetic equipment successfully complete their rehabilitation. The main problems that the patient faces when adapting to their prosthetic equipment is the response time and alignment vs the healthy limb, since it does not have an intelligent control system that allows them to respond in real time as the losted limb did. This causes gaps when performing your gait cycle, this over time can bring about abnormalities in your posture affecting the alignment of your motor system. This work allows us to analyze the range of motion of the ankles and knees, in addition to determining the angular velocity of both, it is essential information for the development of control systems necessary for active prosthetic equipment. The programming language where it was developed is the Python 3.7 software and additionally reproduce the simulation of the gait cycle.

In this days, the sensor system implemented in a robot is very important in his performance. It is required, a set of sensors that allow a robot to develop a more complex function interacting in dynamic form with his environment. In humanoid robot, the selection and programming of a sensor system are a key factor, because they need to have a quick response to situations that are presented. Otherwise, they can lose off balance in their movements or simply do not perform the task for the delay in their movements. This paper presents the application of a vision algorithm using a CMUCAM as a sensor for recognition of shapes and colors. The recognition system was implemented in a humanoid robot. It is required, a set of sensors that allow a robot to develop a more complex function interacting in dynamic form with his environment. In humanoid robot, the selection and programming of a sensor system are a key factor, because they need to have a quick response to situations that are presented. Otherwise, they can lose off balance in their movements or simply do not perform the task for the delay in their movements. This paper presents the application of a vision algorithm using a CMUCAM as a sensor for recognition of shapes and colors. The recognition system was implemented in a humanoid robot. The results show are fundamental to improve the control design of humanoid movements in non-structured environments.","PeriodicalId":264276,"journal":{"name":"Revista de Ingeniería Biomédica y Biotecnología","volume":"88 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115060109","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
