A 3D printed dual GSM band near isotropic on-package antenna 3D打印双GSM波段近各向同性包上天线

In this paper, we propose an on-package dual band monopole antenna with near-isotropic radiation pattern for GSM mobile applications. The proposed antenna is well matched for both GSM 900 and 1800 bands and provides decent gain for both the bands (1.67 and 3.27 dBi at 900 MHz and 1800 MHz respectively). The antenna is printed with silver ink on a 3D printed polymer based package. The package houses the GSM electronics and the battery. By optimizing the antenna arms width and length, a near-isotropic radiation pattern is achieved. Unlike the published isotropic antennas which are either single band or large in size, the proposed antenna covers both GSM bands with required bandwidth and is only half wavelength long. The design is low cost and highly suitable for various GSM applications such as localization, in additional to conventional communication applications.

A miniaturized frequency selective surface by using vias to connect spiral lines and square patches 用过孔连接螺旋线和方片的一种小型化的频率选择表面

In this paper, a new miniaturized frequency selective surface (FSS) structure is proposed. Compared with previous FSSs, the proposed structure has promising miniaturization features. The array element is implemented by using vias to connect structures on two surface layers. The dimensions of the proposed array element are only 0.035λ×0.035λ. The top layer is constructed by four spiral-shaped structures; the bottom is made of four square-shaped patches. They are connected in series by vias. In so doing, the values of the resonant component values are increased; thus the resonant frequency is shifted downwards. The frequency response is insensitive to the oblique incidence angle. Also, the proposed design is symmetric rotationally on the xy (the surface) plane and can be applied for circular polarization applications.

Design of monopole antennas for uwb applications 超宽带应用的单极天线设计

Presented are the design method, equations, and results of a broadband monopole antenna for UWB applications. The antenna is a fat monopole; made of rectangular and circular patches. Measured results show a passband of 2.8–11.97 GHz. Parametric studies of the effects of the ground plane and the gap between the radiating element and the ground plane were done and their results given. The gain and efficiency are also provided; with average values of 4.34 dBi and 96% respectively. The obtained radiation patterns show bi-directional patterns in the E-plane and omni-directional patterns in the H-plane.

Effect of tumor tissue on implant antenna performance at 2.38 GHz 肿瘤组织对2.38 GHz植入天线性能的影响

This paper demonstrates the detrimental effect a tumor can have on the performance of an antenna implanted in close proximity to said tumor. It was shown through simulation and measurement that a high water content tumor in the immediacy of an antenna implanted in a low water content tissue, such as breast tissue, will cause resonant frequency and bandwidth changes alongside a reduction in radiation efficiency. These effects were shown to increase as the tumor increased in volume with a maximum resonant frequency shift of 3.2% and a reduction in measured radiation efficiency relative to the diameter of the tumor of 0.1 dB/mm. Antennas with dual resonance are shown to mitigate resonant frequency variation effects.

The importance of antenna near-field losses in intra-body UHF communication applications 天线近场损耗在体内超高频通信中的重要性

The gain of the intra-body propagation channel between tissue implanted antennas is largely dependent on the lossy tissue structures on the direct path between the nodes. Nonetheless, intra-body link performance may be improved through careful antenna design to minimize the near-field losses which are doubly important in this application. In an initial study we consider the effect of insulation on an implanted dipole antenna at the MedRadio band (2.36–2.40 GHz) and placed within a muscle tissue phantom. Simulated electric field and radiation efficiency results are discussed for the single antenna case.

Design and full-wave characterization of supershaped printed monopole antennas 超形印刷单极天线的设计与全波特性

Novel printed monopole antennas having supershaped profile are studied. The proposed class of radiating structures shows ultrawideband behavior in terms of input impedance matching, radiation patterns, and polarization. The considered antennas can potentially find application in multi-protocol wireless communication systems with demanding requirements in terms of high data rate, reduced power consumption, and low cost.

A modified square loop antenna radiating a circularly polarized conical beam: Its application to tilted beam formation with enhanced gain 一种辐射圆极化圆锥波束的改进方环形天线:在增强增益的倾斜波束形成中的应用

A square loop antenna is newly analyzed to radiate a conical beam, using the moment method. The loop has a single feed and two corners are truncated for circularly polarized (CP) radiation. It is revealed that the antenna shows a gain of 9 dB, which is higher than that of a conventional loop by 2 dB. This leads to further analysis of a modified square double-loop antenna that radiates a CP tilted beam. It is found that an enhanced gain can be obtained in comparison with that of a conventional double-loop antenna by 1 dB.

An MPI-accelerated multi-solver algorithm for electromagnetic modeling of complex objects 复杂物体电磁建模的mpi加速多求解算法

A multi-solver (MS) algorithm is accelerated on distributed computing systems to simulate the electromagnetic scattering from large and complex objects. In this algorithm, the targeted object with its background is decomposed into multiple subdomains which are modeled by either the finite element method or the method of moments. Different from conventional parallelized domain decomposition methods, where the subdomains are handled in parallel, the MS algorithm is parallelized by applying the parallelization to individual subdomains. The employed multilevel fast multipole algorithm is also parallelized to enable computation on many processors. Numerical examples are given to show the parallel efficiency of the proposed strategy.

A surface plasmon polariton inspired patch antenna 表面等离子体激元激发贴片天线

A patch antenna augmented with a magnetic surface plasmon polariton (SPP) spiral is proposed. It is fed by a small loop antenna. The final prototype of the optimized antenna has an overall size of 80 mm × 80 mm × 1 mm. Simulation results show that it has three working frequency bands; the −10 dB impedance bandwidth of each is: 1.99–2.52 GHz, 3.22–4.26 GHz and 4.71–5.16 GHz. These three working frequency bands all have field distributions characteristic of a scatterer with an excited, localized SPP mode. The peak gain achieved by this antenna is 6.5 dB.

In this paper, a T-shaped feed structure is presented that enhances the performance of a polarization diversity antenna. It is a four-port network that consists of two input ports and two output ports. The −10 dB relative impedance bandwidth is 6.64 GHz from 2.31GHz to 8.95 GHz, i.e., 117.9% and the isolation is at least 29.7 dB within the same band. Furthermore, the insertion loss is less than 0.5 dB in that band between 2.33GHz to 8.93 GHz.
