Frequency offset tolerant demodulation for low data rate and narrowband wireless sensor node 低数据速率窄带无线传感器节点的容频偏解调

The issue of frequency offset in low data rate, narrowband and low power communication nodes is considered in this paper. To avoid power hungry precise frequency generation, offset tolerant demodulation and detection schemes are investigated. A Short-Time DFT (ST-DFT) based detection for BFSK is introduced which improves the BER performance of an existing design by almost 1dB. Its BER performance and complexity are also compared to frequency offset tolerant DDBPSK demodulation. Additionally, the effect of wider filter required to capture signal in presence of frequency offset is considered. The trade-off between performance and complexity for different offset values and filter bandwidths is discussed. Both methods work independent of frequency offset; however, it is shown that wider filters do not affect ST-DFT BER performance in contrast with DDBPSK. This robustness is obtained at the expense of increased computational load.

Tracker for sleepy drivers at the wheel 为昏昏欲睡的司机准备的追踪器

Sleepiness behind the wheel is the major contribution to fatal accidents. Recognizing the drowsiness of the driver is one of the surest methods for measuring driver drowsiness. In this paper a tracker has been created which plans to evaluate driver's fatigue, exhaustion, and diversion throughout driving. The framework composed is a non-intrusive constant checking framework and it consists of camera which keeps a vigilant eye on driver's movements to detect drowsiness. The algorithm developed is unique to any currently published papers, which was a primary objective of the project. The system deals with detecting eyes in an extracted image from video input. All the possible actions have been considered and output is generated accordingly. Drowsiness is determined by observing the eye blinking patterns of the driver. If eyes are found to be closed for a particular time period given by threshold value, the framework reaches the determination that the driver is nodding off and issues a notice flag. The system is implemented using Haar cascade object detector using OpenCV (Open Source Computer Vision Library), which detects eyes from the input image. The system is also able to work under low lighting conditions.

A closed-form of cooperative detection probability using EGC-based soft decision under Suzuki fading 铃木衰落下基于egc的软决策合作检测概率的封闭形式

In cooperative spectrum sensing based on energy detection, several researchers have concluded that Soft Decision has better detection performance than Hard Decision. In this paper, we focus on Equal Gain Combining (EGC)-based soft decision under Suzuki fading which is a composite Rayleigh-lognormal fading. We use Moment-Generating function (MGF) to approximate Probability Density Function (PDF) of power sum of received signals at Fusion Center. Then we propose a novel method to evaluate cooperative detection performance under the effect of i.i.d Suzuki fading by using Gauss-Hermite approximation and MGF matching. Finally, we compare the results of EGC-based Soft Decision with those of Hard Decision.

Dual window selective median switching filter 双窗口选择性中值开关滤波器

A simple and efficient nonlinear image filtering technique, called the dual window selective median switching (DWSMS) filter, for the removal of both additive and impulse noise from corrupted images, is proposed. Two moving concentric windows are employed to determine the luminance value for replacing that of the center pixel. Three steps are involved in this filtering technique. First, the usual median filtering is applied to the smaller window. Second, the median filtering is applied to the larger window. Third, the two median filtered values are then compared to the original center pixel, and the median-filtered value closer to the center pixel is chosen to be the pixel's filtering output. Tests to the standard image corrupted with different amounts of additive and impulse noise show that the proposed algorithm consistently provides improved performance to the original median filtering of both window sizes.

New MU-MIMO random access employing THP with correlation based user scheduling 基于相关用户调度的基于THP的MU-MIMO随机接入

This paper proposes a novel random access scheme with multiuser multiple-input multiple-output (MU-MIMO) employing Tomlinson-Harashima precoding (THP) for distributed wireless systems. An efficient user scheduling based on correlation is introduced for the proposed random access with MU-MIMO. Because the proposed scheduling does not need all channel state information from all terminals, the proposed random access enables simultaneous multiple packets transmission by using THP with small overhead. We evaluate the performance by computer simulation that the proposed access achieves about 7.8 bits/Hz at Eb/N0 = 1.3 dB when 4 antennas are installed on the access point and quadrature phase shift keying (QPSK) is applied.

Infrastructure-free indoor pedestrian tracking based on foot mounted UWB/IMU sensor fusion 基于足部UWB/IMU传感器融合的无基础设施室内行人跟踪

Accurate indoor human localization without requiring any pre-installed infrastructure is essential for many applications, such as search and rescue in fire disaster areas or human social interaction. Ultra-wideband (UWB) is a very promising technology for accurate indoor positioning with pre-installed receivers. An infrastructure-free methodology, called Pedestrian Dead-Reckoning (PDR), which uses an inertial measurement unit (IMU), can also be used for position estimation. In this approach, the drift errors of IMU in each step length estimation are compensated based on zero-velocity update (ZUPT), zero angular rate update (ZARU) and heuristic heading drift reduction (HDR) algorithms. An accurate step detection can be achieved by relying on the data provided by accelerometers and gyroscopes. In order to further improve the accuracy, a novel approach, which combines IMU PDR and UWB ranging measurements by Extended Kalman filter (EKF) without any pre-installed infrastructure, is proposed. All the components in this approach, the IMU, the mobile station (MS) and the receiver of the UWB are mounted on the feet. The biases in the IMU measurements, which cause inaccurate step length estimation, can be compensated by range measurements provided by UWB. The performance of the normal PDR with EKF is evaluated as comparison to the proposed approach. The real test results show that the proposed approach with EKF is the most effective way to reduce the error.

Fast extrapolation of band-limited signals on the 2-sphere 在2球上快速外推带限制信号

In this work, we develop a fast conjugate gradient based method for the extrapolation of band-limited signals. The problem of signal extrapolation on the sphere finds applications in many fields including acoustics, cosmology and geophysics. In comparison to the existing extrapolation methods of computationally complexity O(L6), the complexity of the proposed method is O(L3). We also provide analysis of the computational complexity of the proposed method and review the considerations which are required to be taken into account during the implementation of the proposed extrapolation method in practice. We finally conduct numerical experiments to analyse the extrapolation accuracy and demonstrate the convergence of the proposed method.

Finite-blocklength linear superposition coding for the Gaussian MAC with quantized feedback 基于量化反馈的高斯MAC有限块长线性叠加编码

We propose a linear transceiver scheme for the asymmetric two-user Gaussian multiple access channel with quantized feedback in the practically important regime of finite blocklength. Our scheme is an extension of results obtained for the asymptotic (infinite blocklength) regime. The quantized feedback link is modeled via the information bottleneck method. Our block-feedback superposition coding scheme splits the transmit power between an Ozarow-like linear feedback code and a conventional code that ignores the feedback. We study the achievable sum rate for fixed error probabilities as a function of the blocklength. We use asymptotically optimal power allocation and further optimize the superposition via finding the optimal trade-off in the blocklengths that maximizes the achievable sum rate of the constituent schemes of the superposition.

In this paper, we present a mathematical framework for the interpolation (approximation) of signals defined on the sphere using the notion of reproducing-kernel Hilbert spaces (RKHS) and evaluate the performance of different isotropic kernels. Using the reproducing kernel and kernel inclusion properties of RKHS, we first present the formulation for the interpolation (approximation) of a signal on the sphere from its measurements. Later, we analyse the performance of different isotropic univariate kernels: Abel Poisson kernel, Von Mises-Fisher kernel, Legendre generating function and Lebedev kernel, by evaluating the signal interpolation accuracy.

Printed Yagi-Uda antenna array on CubeSat 立方体卫星上打印的八木uda天线阵列

CubeSats are now becoming increasingly popular for space programs. This is because of their affordability. Moreover, CubeSats can be built using commercial Off-the Shelf (COTS) components. They are cost effective compared with traditional satellites. CubeSats can communicate with each other within a swarm, and with ground station. These capabilities require CubeSats to be equipped with small antennas to facilitate cross-link or downlink communications. Therefore, in this paper, we present a novel design of high gain printed Yagi-Uda antenna and a two element Yagi-Uda antenna array which can be perfectly attached on 3U CubeSat's aluminum bodies to avoid deployment. We have shown a numerical analysis of Yagi antenna array and simulated the antenna using the High Frequency Simulator Structure (HFSS). The simulation model is completed with the existing of CubeSat mental body. Our results show that the antenna array achieves good impedance matching with a return loss of − 26.47 dB at the desired frequency of 2.47 GHz, a −10dB impedance bandwidth of 134 MHz (2.396–2.530 GHz) and has a total gain of 6.41dB.
