Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma (NHL) presents a group of histologically and biologically inhomogeneous B and T cell neoplasms of lymphoid tissue with a completely unidentified etiology. Antiphospholipid antibodies (aPL) are antibodies produced as a result of misinterpretation of platelet membrane phospholipids. It is well known that antiphospholipid antibodies are general risk factors that induce the disorder of the physiological process of hemostasis. Respectively, it is interesting to appreciate the incidence of antiphospholipid antibodies in new non-Hodgkin lymphomas patients depending on age, sex, type of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, the peculiarities of the onset of the disease, the degree of disease spread. According to the results of our study, we found a 14.8% incidence of aPL in primary patients with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, more frequently in men and people older than 50 years. The positivity of aPL antibodies depended on the immunohistochemical type of malignant lymphoma, the degree of dissemination of the tumor process and independent of the location of the tumor focus (nodal or extranodal) of NHL. The incidence of aPL antibody types was uneven with the obvious predominance of lupus anticoagulant. Th is study allowed the evaluation of the incidence of antiphospholipid antibodies in primary patients with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.

Covid-19 infection is a challenge for the medical system. The development of programs and strategies for the rehabilitation of people in different stages of the disease is relevant and current. The study is a bibliographic synthesis that aimed to analyze the methods and strategies of medical rehabilitation of patients with the new “coronavirus infection”. Data were collected from the academic databases PubMed, PubMed Central, Google, collecting relevant articles from 2019-2021, using the keywords: [“Covid-19” or “Covid 19” or “2019- CoV” or “SARS- CoV” or“ new coronavirus” or “SARS-CoV-2”] and [“rehabilitation ”or“ physical medicine”]. Th e aim of the study was to estimate the consequences of COVID-19 and to identify methods of recovery treatment. Because Covid-19 severely affects the respiratory system, pulmonary rehabilitation interventions with respiratory techniques and postural drainage combined with other physiotherapeutic methods may be used for a patient with COVID-19. The wide range of clinical manifestations in COVID-19 reveals the importance of adapting the rehabilitation program to functional deficits and patient needs. Multifactorial programs combined with active and supportive methods (physical therapy, exercise, occupational therapy, reflex therapy) are effective and can be used in the complex care of patients with COVID-19 at all stages of treatment.

The development of efficient, high-quality, harmless and affordable pharmaceutical forms for drug treatment in pediatrics is a current task of contemporary pharmacy. Currently, psychiatrists and neurologists from various curative-prophylactic institutions prescribe for children and adolescents nootropic preparations in the form of tablets, powders and syrups, in various neurological diseases, the share of which, according to national and international statistics, is constantly increasing. Currently, the prescription of hopanthenic acid is gaining popularity, thanks to its neuroprotective, neurotrophic, neurometabolic, antidepressant, anxiolytic and analgesic effects. The presented paper has as starting point the analysis of the structural-molecular properties of hopanthenic acid, exposed by biopharmaceutical study, pharmacokinetic parameters and strategies for optimizing pharmaceutical formulations with gastric release.

Over the years, time has given us a whole series of novelties in the fi eld of natural medicine, which have managed to truly prove their value and keep up to date. Th e application of apitherapy has been known since ancient times and today the interest in this branch of natural medicine is growing worldwide. Among bee products, with an indisputable value is also propolis, which is currently widely studied, and as a result is the subject of multiple therapeutic uses based on evidence. Research in the fi eld of propolis preparations has expanded considerably and is of major medical and pharmaceutical interest. Propolis is an excellent anti-infl ammatory, healing and epithelializing, hepatoprotective, immuno-biostimulator, capillary tonic and tissue regenerator. It is remarkable that, due to its complexity and compositional variability, propolis retains its full antimicrobial capacity, unlike synthetic antibiotics, which bacteria develop resistance over time, requiring the periodic introduction of new antibiotics. Th e study on obtaining and analyzing propolis extracts, by determining the total polyphenolic and antioxidant activity, by scavenging method of the free radical DPPH, is an important premise for the use and development of new pharmaceutical forms containing propolis for multiple curative-prophylactic uses based on local raw materials.

Nutrition is an important factor for health, physical and cognitive function, vitality, quality of life and longevity. Elderly people oft en have low food intake, induced by multifactorial causes, as a result, malnutrition is an independent risk factor for increased morbidity and mortality, regardless of the underlying pathologies (chronic organ failure, cognitive impairment, cancer, cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes etc.) including overweight or obese subjects.The prevalence of malnutrition varies from 4% to 10% in the elderly population from the community, from 15% to 38% for institutionalized elderly people and from 30% to 70% for hospitalized ones. The purpose of this study was to assess the nutritional status of institutionalized elderly people and establish correlations between the determinants of malnutrition and fragility syndrome.Th e epidemiological study is part of the project 20.80009.8007.25 “Fragility: diagnosis and prophylaxis in relation to medicopsychosocial problems of the vulnerable elderly”, included 50 patients institutionalized in the Republican Asylum for the Disabled and Retired in Chisinau.All persons were examined by the complex geriatric evaluation, approved by the order of the Ministry of Health no. 619 of 07.09.2010. According to the results, both malnutrition and the risk of malnutrition were high in institutionalized elderly people.Among the determinants of malnutrition, the highest association had the number of concomitant diseases, decreased functionality of the elderly, the presence of depression syndrome and cognitive disorders. At the same time, the malnutrition syndrome correlated with the fragility criteria but also with the degree of severity of frailty of the institutionalized elderly people.

During the twentieth century life expectancy has increased significantly and it was estimated that by 2030, 21% of the world’s population will be >65 years. According to observations, fragility syndrome and nutritional status problems are very common among the elderly population, especially in old age. Fragility syndrome has a multifactorial origin and is a fundamental risk factor for deteriorating health and the installation of disability in the elderly. The purpose of the study was to establish the interrelationship of nutritional status with fragility syndrome and the impact on the functionality of the elderly. The information was searched in the PubMed, Hinari, Cochrane, Elsevier, Springer databases, including the offi cial pages of the European Geriatric Society, European Society for Clinical Nutrition and Metabolism, to identify scientifi c journals dedicated to nutrition in the elderly with fragility syndrome. Studies published in the period 2010-2020, in romanian and english, were selected. Th e specialized literature, scientifi c journals, clinical studies were researched, from which the most relevant 34 were selected. Elderly malnutrition is currently a global problem, its prevalence in people is 10-40%. Th e diagnosis of malnutrition aims to identify it and elucidate the causes. Weight loss is a criterion of the development of fragility, and nutrition-focused interventions can prevent the progression of fragility syndrome and loss of autonomy with the onset of dependence. Fragility is a geriatric syndrome that aff ects several areas of physical status, and malnutrition is one of the risk factors for this syndrome.

Treatment of SARS CoV-2 infection is a major problem in contemporary medicine caused by the absence of specifi c antiviral drugs. Attempts to use many groups of drugs have had some successes and failures. Th e pathophysiological approach to the rationality of drug use is the basis of the eff ectiveness and safety of treatment. Glucocorticoids are a group of drugs capable of solving health problems in serious and critical situations. Physicians, despite the absence of evidence-based data, continue to use corticosteroids in critical situations based on pharmacological properties and experience. In SARS CoV-2 infection initially, at the beginning of the pandemic, the use of glucocorticoids was not recommended, and later, based on clinical studies, the World Health Organization issued a series of recommendations regarding the rationality of their use through an individualized approach. Th e latter involves determining the timing of initiation, selection of the drug, doses and duration of treatment. Th e key moment in this context is the time of the onset of the cytokine storm (the second week aft er the onset of symptoms) on which the administration of glucocorticoids is directed.

As a case presentation, the present paper aims to present a patient with pure embryonal carcinoma, which is rarely seen, together with the relevant literature. Th e case is a 36-year-old male patient, who applied to the clinic with complaints of pain and swelling in the left testis. In the scrotal doppler ultrasonography, hypoechoic solid lesion contoured to the lobule almost fi lling the left testis and having the size of 25x60 mm were observed. Histopathological and immunohistochemical analysis of the this case was diagnosed with pure embryonal carcinoma. All the patients with complaint of pain-free mass in testis should be investigated. Although the pure embryonal carcinoma is rarely seen, it is one of the tumors that can be clinically and histopathologically confused with other testis tumors and should be considered for the patients applying to the clinic with complaints of pain-free mass in testis.

Medical services in Moldova remain behind the minimum European standards, which exposes workers in the fi eld and hospitalized patients to the risk of transmitting nosocomial infections in medical institutions. In this respect, the hygiene conditions related to the management and destruction of waste from medical activity are not good enough: the health and environmental risks persist. Th e Moldovan health authorities, aware of this issue, have recently taken some real steps to standardize medical waste management procedures by publishing a 2018 Sanitary Regulation on Waste Management in order to strengthen waste legislation. However, the standardized practices of medical waste management, which are to be applied at the moment in various medical institutions in the country, remain only at the level of normative acts, without identifying the real mechanisms to implement them. Th e problem is not «what to do», but «how to do it».

Th e problem is not «what to do», but «how to do it».","PeriodicalId":269453,"journal":{"name":"Public Health, Economy and Management in Medicine","volume":"33 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114348998","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Studies about the potential eff ects of the electromagnetic fi eld on the human body are increasing day by day. In this study; new investigations on this fi eld were tried to be explained by the help of literature. It is shown in many studies that electromagnetic waves as well as the electromagnetic field that is given out by some of the equipment we use, create negative eff ects on biological systems of humans. Moreover; it had concluded that there are roles of molecular pathways such as oxidative stress on electromagnetic fi eld induced diseases. Th ese eff ects are the short term eff ects and long term eff ects. Preventitive measures should be high priority and risks should be minimized.
