Linguistic globalization in the 21st century: anglicisation from idiolect to higher education 21世纪的语言全球化:从习语到高等教育的英语化

The paper considers the phenomenon of Anglicization as a being related to the impact of English as a Lingua Franca on the lexical layers of other languages from the standpoint of the need of unification and standardization of terminological layers (necessary borrowings) and on the other hand by the stylistic enrichment of the vocabulary (luxury borrowings). Therefore, linguistic globalization is regarded as a global intensive lexical borrowing from English by languages whose speakers use English as a foreign language. Politically and socially, it concerns the status of English as a "language of globalization", proven by scientific, political, statistical and sociolinguistic arguments. Furthermore, higher education has also been impacted by the process of Anglicization as one of the main tasks is to prepare students for effective intercultural communication in a global, intercultural environment. The present paper aims to provide an analysis of the process of Anglicisation in its transition from an individual phenomenon (idiolect) to the national and international system of higher education, highlighting its advantages and disadvantages.

Globe - assessment tool of the impact of national culture on management in the context of globalization 全球化背景下国家文化对管理影响的全球评估工具

Globalization has generated a complex vision on the process of interaction of representatives of different cultures in different fields: political, social, economic, etc. Thus, multicultural complexity can be dealt with by knowing the specific cultural characteristics of the nation we deal with and development of synergistic approach of differences in inter and transcultural processes. The grids, comprising dimensions (specific cultural characteristics) in the most important cultural theories, such as Hofstede and GLOBE, help to understand the differences between cultures and solve intercultural problems. The article below contains a detailed description of the GLOBE 2020 project carried out in the Republic of Moldova: stages, research methodology, sample, proposed survey and problems related to questionnaire translation. This segment of the project is an integral part of the GLOBE (Global Leadership and Organizational Behaviour Effectiveness) that, during 20 years, focuses on the study of national culture, the factors generating trust in the analysed countries and their specific and preferred leadership.

Incorporating global citizenship education into business english lessons 将全球公民教育融入商务英语课程

Teaching English nowadays is not an easy task, as English teachers, including those teaching Business English, are constantly under pressure, because they have got to do more than just teaching the language. Taking into account the changes and challenges occurring in the modern world, they have got to prepare the people who are ready to live, study or/and work in a globalised environment, where the basic language of international communication is English. The knowledge of the English language is not the only necessary thing on the way of becoming a global citizen. Some skills are also necessary, which are often named the 21st century skills. There are some practical ways to implement global citizenship education both at the institutional level and in the classrooms. Business English lessons prove to be particularly effective in this respect.

The role of extracurricular activities in foreign languages for intercultural competence aquisition 外语课外活动对跨文化能力习得的作用

It is known that the EU's motto is "United in diversity" - of cultures, traditions, beliefs, and, last but not least, of languages. Therefore, an efficient and productive interaction between various cultures and languages, in an environment of acceptance, tolerance, equality, flexibility, understanding, respect and affirmation, requires a multicultural training and appropriate intercultural competences. Moreover, the existence of many intercultural barriers, the urgent need to interact with people, regardless of their origin, to live in a world marked by pronounced cultural and linguistic differences, confirms the importance of developing such competences by studying cultural diversity and capitalizing its strengths, but in the same time maintaining its own identity and contributing to its development. Therefore, the local higher education system, foreign language teachers, in particular, have the complex mission to form and develop intercultural competences and/ or elements of competences, necessary for today's young people, for both, personal and professional development and in order to integrate into a multicultural environment. The approached subject reveals the fact that in the academic environment, intercultural competence can be successfully acquired with the help of traditional or modern extracurricular activities.

Diversity of identity, bilingualism and pluriculturalism in western and eastern cultures 东西方文化中的身份多样性、双语和多元文化

In a culturally diverse and globalized society, where half of the world’s population is estimated to be bilingual, the concept of cultural identity appears to be constantly influenced in ways it has never been before. The number of people suffering from a crisis of cultural identity is rapidly increasing. This can be explained by the fact that as members of two or more cultures, many do their hardest to integrate into the dominant culture, even if it means sacrificing the values of the culture in which their parents were raised, only to have a sense of belonging in the dominant culture’s society. In this article we try to identify the specific features of bilingualism and pluriculturalism in social and family context in Western and Eastern cultures. Using France in the West and South Korea in the East as examples, we examined from various perspectives how immigrants who are fluent in the dominant culture’s language, have adopted its values into their lifestyle, yet even after spending in this country the most of their lives they feel alienated and discriminated. Based on documentary, analytical, historical, descriptive, and juxtaposed comparative methods of research we reached to the conclusion that while we advocate for equality regardless of ethnicity, gender, colour, or religion, equality remains an ideal that we have failed to achieve because we are still reluctant to fully accept cultural diversity of Identity.

Praxeological approaches to consecutive interpreting in the academic environment. Multilingual perspectives 学术环境下交替传译的行为学研究。多语言的角度

The article presents an overview on the practices of consecutive interpreting in the higher-education institutions. It emphasises teaching and learning approaches from a multilingual perspective with an aim to compare the realities in different academic environments and namely Department of Translation, Interpretation and Applied Linguistics from Moldova State University (Republic of Moldova), Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures from “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University of Iasi (Romania), Institute of Translation Studies (IT) from Charles University in Prague (Czech Republic) and Department of Translation Studies (DT) from “Constantin the Philosopher” University of Nitra (Slovakia), where I carried out research stays for my PhD studies from 2017 to 2019. This is a case-study based on personal reflections and conclusions regarding the educational process. The training practices of future interpreters at the mentioned institutions are described with regard to the curricular contents and teaching strategies used in the organisation of the teaching-learning activity: materials, methods, means, timeline distribution of the stages of the lesson, monitoring of students’ activity, degree of student involvement during the lessons and other resources aimed at achieving the set objectives.

Globalization is the process whose aim is to eliminate different artificial barriers to the movement of goods, services, capital, knowledge and people in global world. At the same time globalization affect all areas of people's life such as politic, economic, business or cultural one. As a matter of fact, the importance of interculturality is crucial for social wellbeing in daily life. The aim of this paper is to show the key aspect of interculturality and it’s connection especially with modern business, when Multicultural Companies use creative, human factor for increasing their business strategies. Also, we will develop the idea that interculturality is an interdisciplinary human resources field concerned with facilitating management in organizational communities where is a deep understanding and respect off all cultures focusing on effective interactions, development of deep relationships and mutual exchange of cultural norms between customers and all the stakeholders across organizational borders. It will develop the processes within a culturally diverse team in order to achieve many goals. Moreover, developing intercultural management skills is essential not only for working with people across cultures more effectively, and thus getting better business results, but also for becoming more resilient and agile in dealing with the daily changes, the uncertainty and the complexity of modern life. This paper will analyze the main reasons of implementing Intercultural Management in start-ups, when company wants to enter a foreign market or in promoting democracy.

At the same time globalization affect all areas of people's life such as politic, economic, business or cultural one. As a matter of fact, the importance of interculturality is crucial for social wellbeing in daily life. The aim of this paper is to show the key aspect of interculturality and it’s connection especially with modern business, when Multicultural Companies use creative, human factor for increasing their business strategies. Also, we will develop the idea that interculturality is an interdisciplinary human resources field concerned with facilitating management in organizational communities where is a deep understanding and respect off all cultures focusing on effective interactions, development of deep relationships and mutual exchange of cultural norms between customers and all the stakeholders across organizational borders. It will develop the processes within a culturally diverse team in order to achieve many goals. Moreover, developing intercultural management skills is essential not only for working with people across cultures more effectively, and thus getting better business results, but also for becoming more resilient and agile in dealing with the daily changes, the uncertainty and the complexity of modern life. On the importance of the cultural component in foreign language learning 论外语学习中文化成分的重要性

In the process of learning a foreign language, gradually mastering its lexical and grammatical categories, individuals are faced with the fact that the language barrier is not the only obstacle to successful communication. Behind every word, behind every language structure there is a national consciousness-driven view of the world. The problems, which arise in situations of intercultural communication, are seen as the result of differences in behaviour and thinking between people from different cultures, which often leads to ineffective communication. The aim of this paper is to demonstrate and argue for the importance of the cultural component in the process of learning a foreign language on the example of figurative linguistic units as the deep cultural foundations of the conceptualisation of the world. These linguistic units are used as a means for interpreting the value aspect of conceptualisation. The research is conducted on the material of Russian, Romanian and German. The linguistic material of the study refers to idioms, similes and metaphors as models, correlated with a deeper conceptual layer, which are actively used by modern speakers of the respective languages.
在学习一门外语,逐渐掌握其词汇和语法类别的过程中,个体面临着这样一个事实,即语言障碍并不是成功交流的唯一障碍。在每一个词,每一种语言结构的背后,都有一种民族意识驱动的世界观。在跨文化交际中出现的问题被视为来自不同文化的人在行为和思维上的差异,这往往导致无效的交际。本文旨在以比喻语言单位作为世界概念化的深层文化基础为例,论证和论证文化成分在外语学习过程中的重要性。这些语言单位被用作解释概念化的价值方面的手段。本研究以俄语、罗马尼亚语和德语的材料为研究对象。该研究的语言材料是指习语、明喻和隐喻作为模型,与更深层次的概念层相关联,被各自语言的现代使用者积极使用。

After World War II, a new international system was established and it stimulated reduced Introduction: After World War II, a new international system was established and it stimulated reduced trade barriers and formed new international economy. Entrepreneurs asked for deeper analysis of culture as found multicultural communication an important part of business. This way, International tourism deserves deepened analysis as entire structure of it is multicultural communication and recent tourism trends warns against need to be prepared to revise existing organizational standards of international tourism enterprises. The aim of this article is literature review identifying issues of multicultural communication related to international tourism business in the discourse of globalized societies. Methods: It defines areas of further research to make evaluation of multicultural communication interaction to international tourism and propose issues for discussion related to new challenges of customer relations in the context of changing market situation and further growth of the importance of cultural communication in tourism.
