As we bid farewell to another busy year, we take a look back at the numerous events our students par8cipated in throughout 2014: primary school performances, Music Brunch, Bicton Primary School Fete, WACE Rehearsal Performance Day, Performing Arts Variety Show, WA Schools’ Jazz Fes8val, WA Schools’ Band Fes8val, WA Classical Guitar Fes8val, WA Schools’ Choral Fes8val, Soloist Night, Year 12 Farewell Assembly, Valedictory Evening, Year 6 and 7 Transi8on Days, Music By Night Concert, numerous in class solo and group performances and numerous performances at assemblies. ! The first event in which music students par8cipated this term was the Valedictory Evening on 27th October. Sophia Sunthang and Elissa Grubelich performed an acous8c version of the song Free by Rudimental and Emeli Sande on the night. They did a great job represen8ng the Music in Focus Program. ! The last event for the year was the Music By Night Concert, which was held on 1st December in the Carly Smith Studio. We wanted to change up the format of the event to give it a more authen8c feel, as if punters were aXending a gig at a music !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! venue and not at a high school. Half of the room was seated and half was leZ clear for people to stand. The audience members were free to walk in and out and buy a sausage sizzle that was running outside. The talent must have been excellent, as most chose to stay and listen to all performances. !
