The next generation of mobile systems must provide a balancing strategy towards M2M (Machine-to-Machine) traffic, while maintaining a sustainable Quality of Service (QoS) for H2H (Human-to-Human) traffic, especially with the expected exponential growth of the number of M2M devices in the coming years carried by the advance of the IoT (Internet of Things) technology. In normal situations, it is obvious that using a 1.4 MHz bandwidth in Long Term Evolution for Machines (LTE-M), helps in improving M2M device complexity, cost and battery life effectively. However, in emergency scenarios, an expected M2M storm will lead inevitably to a fast resource depletion accompanied by an eNodeB congestion in a split second. In this manuscript, we propose a novel scheme ”LTE-M Adaptive eNodeB”, which gradually solves the eNodeB overload problem, while keeping the H2H traffic QoS not to be affected badly. Moreover, We adaptively manage network resources to allow both traffic to efficiently access the LTE network via SimuLTE open-source modeler. Eventually, an evaluation of the mutual impact of M2M and H2H coexistence is also presented.

In this paper, we consider a method to detect digital modulated symbols from compressively sampled measurements in digital communication system. We describe a method to build a dictionary matrix considering signal modulations, and propose a template matching based algorithm which is effective to recover the information symbols using the dictionary. We implement the algorithm as a GPGPU program, and our experiments show that the proposed recovery method works well.

IoT (Internet of Things) has a large portion of our life. This is manifested by the large number of connected devices. With the exponential growth of IoT devices, IoT security is becoming important. In particular, Smart Door Lock system is extremely important because it is closely related to the safety of the user. However, the data sent and received of existing Smart Door Lock system is vulnerable to forgery and hacking. To improve these security issues, we propose a Smart Door Lock system based on blockchain. Also, this provides data integrity and non-repudiation. Lastly, we propose an algorithm that the Smart Door Lock system judge some situations around itself and operates based on data sent from sensors.

The Internet was designed to support host-oriented services. However, users are typically interested in the content itself rather than the location of the content. As the usage of the Internet for content retrieval is increasing rapidly, some intelligent methods have to be employed in the base stations to provide faster and seamless content delivery. In this paper, we propose a CCN-based fast content delivery mechanism using an enhanced base station called smart base station (SBS) which incorporates advanced features such as content-oriented communication, a learning module, prediction-based mobility support, and an efficient storage management scheme. Simulation results are also provided to show the feasibility of the proposed mechanism.

Due to climate change and its impact on agriculture, accurate estimate of future crops yield is very critical for low-lying countries like Bangladesh. Rice is the most consumed crop for Bangladesh with an annual production of more than 40 million tons per year. Despite being gifted with multiple seasons suitable for cultivating variety of rice, its productivity in Bangladesh has been changing following climatic variationsin this region over the last decades. In this paper, we present an approach, called WPSRY (Weather-based Prediction System for Rice Yield), for forecasting rice yield in different regions of Bangladesh. The proposed approach (WPSRY) firstly builds a model to predict the weather parameters applying Neural Networks (NN), and then estimates the rice yields applying Support Vector Regression (SVR) that uses as inputs predicted weather from NN as well as current agricultural data. Simulation demonstrates that WPSRY approach achieves promising prediction accuracy.

MPEG has released a standard of the DASH(Dynamic Adaptive Streaming over HTTP) specification to support QoS(Quality of Service) for multimedia streaming service. Several quality adaptation schemes have been proposed for improving the quality of DASH. However, previous adaptation schemes do not guarantee smooth and seamless playback because they do not considers the VBR characteristics of the contents. Furthermore, HTTP streaming clients receive a manifest file, download the referred video segments over HTTP, and play them back seamlessly emulating video streaming. This introduces latency of at least one segment duration which decreasing the quality of the user experience. In this paper, we propose a EQASH(Enhanced Quality Adaptation Scheme for DASH). The proposed scheme adjusts the quality of the segments not only based on the network and playback buffer status, but also based on the VBR characteristics of the contents. The proposed scheme also reduces the latency by employing the new server push feature in HTTP 2.0. In order to evaluate the performance, we implemented proposed scheme in the DASH reference player. Through the simulation results, we have proven that our scheme improves the QoE(Quality of Experience) of multimedia streaming over DASH.
MPEG发布了DASH(Dynamic Adaptive Streaming over HTTP)规范标准,以支持多媒体流媒体服务的QoS(Quality of Service)。 在本文中,我们提出了一个EQASH(Enhanced Quality Adaptation Scheme for DASH)。

Wireless network users are increasing vastly in present days and the data traffic in mobile communications systems is increasing explosively too. To cover maximum user with limited radio resources and to provide high quality of service (QoS) to the user, a fractional frequency reuse (FFR) techniques have been proposed for hybrid cellular wireless network. A femtocell can provide high-quality services to indoor users with less power consumption while a macro cell can serve the mobile user of a network. However, the FFR can cause huge interferences to the mobile station and the base station of same frequency. In this paper, we proposed an efficient dynamic FFR scheme that ensures high-quality of service with interference reduction. We propose that if channels are borrowed from adjacent cells, femtocell bifurcation will be introduced that ensures interference reduction when the borrowed channels have same frequency band. We also propose a scheme that inactivates the interfering channels of adjacent cells. The simulation outcomes show acceptable performances in terms of signal to interference ratio (SIR) level, system capacity, and outage probability compared to conventional scheme which does not include any interference reduction technique.

Container-based virtualization offers several advantages such as high performance, resource efficiency, and agile environment, which can make IoT device management easy. Though previous studies introduce container-based virtualization to IoT devices, they do not address different network modes of containers and the performance issues. Because the network performance is an important factor in IoT, analysis on the network performance of containers is essential. In this paper, we analyze the network performance of containers by deploying container-based virtualization on an actual IoT device, Raspberry pi3.

In distributed network function virtualization (NFV) environments, the latency can be significantly increased as the length of service function chain (SFC) increases. To reduce the latency, the order dependency allowing parallel processing of service functions (SFs) can be exploited. In this paper, we propose an order dependency-aware SF placement scheme and analyze its advantages and challenges compared with conventional ones.
