Routing Different Traffic in Deep Space Networks 在深空网络中路由不同的流量

The unique characteristics of deep space networks lead to different research approaches from those in terrestrial networks. In this paper, two different routing mechanisms are proposed to addresses the delivery of remote control messages and scientific data in deep space networks. The location-predicted directional broadcast (LPDB) is proposed for the fast delivery of remote control messages and automatic data delivery. For controlled data delivery, the receiver-initiated on-demand routing (RIOR) is proposed. In RIOR, the route discovery is initiated on-demand by the receiver, and routing tables are maintained in soft state at intermediate nodes. The simulation results show that LPDB and RIOR address the service requirements of different types of traffic, and are efficient in both message delivery and power consumption.

A Novel Tracking Scheme for Band-Limited GNSS 一种新的带限GNSS跟踪方案

The tracking bias is caused by two reasons: one is the distortion in symmetry of correlation values and the other is the shift of the point of time of the maximum correlation value. In band-limited multipath environments, the latter one is a more dominant error factor than the former one. This paper will mention about the characteristics of the coherent correlation values in band-limited multipath environments, and present the novel tracking bias mitigation scheme for a global navigation satellite system (GNSS) which is one of the location determination technologies (LDT) for positioning.

Implementation of Spreading Techniques in Mobile DVB-S2/DVB-RCS systems 移动DVB-S2/DVB-RCS系统中扩展技术的实现

In this paper we address the emerging application of mobility to DVB-S2/DVB-RCS systems, sometimes also referred to as Satellite-On-The Move (SOTM) communications. Satellite communications have great commercial success in digital audio and video broadcasting as they exploit the inherent wide area coverage for distribution content. It was a natural consequence to extend its use to multimedia applications; DVB-S2/DVBRCS standards offer a commercially proven solution for fixed terminals in that sense. This paper presents techniques of spectrum spreading for DVB-S2/DVB-RCS systems detailing which solutions were envisaged and presenting some performance results.

Efficient utilization of the satellite radio resource is of paramount importance to a satellite system's performance and economic competitiveness. The likely use of Ka band and above frequencies for future satellite systems and the need for a better quality of service (QoS) complicate the radio resource management process especially in the return link of a satellite system, one that connects the user to the Gateway or Hub. This paper discusses the research themes that are part of the PhD research, carried out at SUPAERO, aimed at developing radio resource management algorithms that will ultimately improve the resource utilization and the QoS for the return link of interactive broadband satellite systems employing fade mitigation techniques at Ka/Q/V band frequencies. The inputs and optimization criteria for the resource management process are identified. Various physical layer issues that confront the process are also identified. The duration of the research is about 3 years from March 2007 to end of 2009.

Soft Demapping and Turbo Decoding for Satellite Broadcasting Communications 卫星广播通信的软脱模和Turbo译码

In this paper an original detection strategy for satellite digital broadcasting communications is defined; particularly, we consider a system derived from the DVB-S2 standard, which has been proposed as a development of the DVB-S system and exploits an iterative decoding and higher order modulations. The proposed approach relies on the use of the information which can be obtained by proper soft demapping schemes and on the use of the turbo codes instead of the LDPC (low density parity check) codes required by the standard. Moreover, an original receiver which is based on iterative demapping and decoding, is introduced. The adoption of this strategy can permit a remarkable performance gain and an improvement of the system throughput.

Robust detectors for code acquisition with BOC modulation for GNSS receivers 用于GNSS接收机的BOC调制码采集的鲁棒检测器

This paper focuses on the problem of code acquisition for Binary Offset Carrier (BOC) modulated signals in the presence of fractional timing misalignment. An efficient and robust detector, identified as the Quadribranch detector, is compared with state-of-the-art solutions for the Galileo signal in E1 band, in order to evaluate the effects of timing error and to evaluate the possible countermeasures. The comparison shows that, for code acquisition purposes, the Quadribranch guarantees a considerable performance improvement.

Capacity Dimensioning for Air Traffic Management (ATM) Services in a Spot Beam Satellite System 点波束卫星系统中空中交通管理(ATM)业务的容量尺寸

Eurocontrol and FAA have jointly produced a roadmap document for future development of Air Traffic Management (ATM) systems, which is called the Communications Operating Concepts and Requirements (COCR) for Future Radio Systems (FRS) [1]. The document (COCR) is written as a general guideline, without taking into account any technological implementation. In this work we are interested in estimating the capacity requirements for a satellite system for ATM. The bit rate requirement per spot beam is determined using the same approach as in the COCR, with some parameters adjusted to fit in a satellite system scenario. Furthermore, the criticality of one particular service message, the A-EXEC, is verified by comparing the required bit rate when it is excluded from the computation. A condition when this criticality applies is also determined.

Experimental Evaluation of PDU Concatenation in ULE with IP Telephony IP电话ULE中PDU连接的实验评价

Efficient encapsulation of IP and other network packets is an important issue for wireless links. The Unidirectional Lightweight Encapsulation has been designed to be efficient, yet flexible in providing means to add new header extensions for developing requirements. One of the recently proposed extensions allows for wrapping several network packets into one SubNetwork Data Unit, the PDU-Concat mode. In this paper we give some first results on both the efficiency of this mode, but also critically analyze impacts of the concatenation on real-time audio traffic for IP telephony. For the tests a combination of a laboratory set-up with a DVB-C chain for the PDU-Concat processing and the Astra2connect network for the real satellite networking part has been utilized.

Utilisation of LDPC Decoder Parameters in DVB-S2 ACM Procedures DVB-S2 ACM程序中LDPC解码器参数的利用

The provision of broadband satellite services depends on the utilisation of efficient and reliable radio interface, which has the ability to adapt to variable propagation channel conditions. In order to use the available spectrum more efficiently and to maximise the link reliability this paper presents the analysis of possible utilisation of LDPC decoder parameters to improve the performance of the DVB-S2 standard adaptive coding and modulation (ACM) procedures. A switching algorithm is proposed for selecting between the adjacent transmission schemes that is assisted by the information on the number of iterations and the number of violated parity checks in previous frames obtained from the iterative LDPC decoder. The simulation results are given in terms of BER curves and the belonging LDPC decoder's average number of iterations and average number of violated parity checks. These results, in particular the LDPC decoder's probability density function of the number of required iterations, are further compared with results obtained with a SNR estimation algorithm proposed in the literature for the use in DVB-S2. The comparison confirms that the LDPC decoder information can be efficiently utilised in ACM procedures.

Saratoga: a Delay-Tolerant Networking convergence layer with efficient link utilization Saratoga:具有高效链路利用率的延迟容忍网络收敛层

Saratoga is a lightweight transport protocol based on the user datagram protocol (UDP/IP). Saratoga was developed by Surrey Satellite Technology Ltd (SSTL) for file transfers of imaging data recorded onboard the Internet-Protocol-Based Disaster Monitoring Constellation (DMC) satellites, and has been in operational use from low Earth orbit since 2004. Saratoga focuses only on efficient communication to the next hop when link connectivity is available, by filling the link with packets sent at line rate. This ensures that as much data as possible is transferred to the peering node during a twelve-minutes-or-less pass over a satellite ground station. Saratoga uses a minimal bandwidth-efficient negative acknowledgement mechanism to ensure reliable data transfer. We examine how Saratoga can be adapted to serve as an efficient convergence layer for delay-tolerant networking (DTN), by transferring DTN bundles as well as files. This will allow DTN networks to increase efficiency of communication across briefly-available disrupted links -for long-distance deep space links as well as for short-distance terrestrial mobile ad-hoc networks.
