Analysis of work characteristics based on work probe system 基于工作探测系统的工作特性分析

This paper describes two experiments in two warehouses, performance evaluation of a work element estimation method, and a cloud server for analysis of work characteristics. This paper measures seven employees in an apparel warehouse and a warehouse that stocks pet health products. Results of performance evaluation show that the average error of the work element estimation is about 3%. Next, the cloud server is implemented. A user can download an Excel file that visualizes analysis results. The file shows productivities related to pick of goods, walks, and finds of goods or location. Using the file, operations managers can intuitively understand productivity problem. Because the file also helps the managers in coming up with appropriate strategy, which may involve developing new competitive advantages or optimizing existing ones, the cloud server is useful in practice.

Wearable Wireless Multiparameter Monitoring Systems (WEMUMS) for Resource Constrained Settings 用于资源受限设置的可穿戴无线多参数监测系统(WEMUMS

Continuous monitoring of physiological parameters using wearable devices have created a huge impact on the critical health care system as well as towards reducing the mortality rate. Most of the developing and under developing countries including resource constrained settings rely on the low-cost healthcare facilities without sacrificing the required clinical diagnosis. This research study suggests the development of first level prototype WEMUMS for resource constrained settings. The framework comprises of master and slave node that consists of chest based dry ECG sensors with accelerometer and wrist-based PPG sensor respectively. All the vital parameter were recorded and transmitted wirelessly to the real-time processor through a blue tooth mode, the vitals are displayed in a mobile app for assessing the patient at cardiac critical care units in the hospital. The designed WEMUMS was evaluated quantitatively using fidelity metrics and qualitatively through clinician’s visual inspection. It was observed from the initial clinical evaluation, the developed prototype still needs to be validated with more patients for clinical assessments before translation of the designed prototype for commercialization.

Detecting COVID-19 from Chest X-Ray Images using a Lightweight Deep Transfer Learning Model with Improved Contrast Enhancement Technique 基于改进对比度增强技术的轻量级深度迁移学习模型从胸部x射线图像中检测COVID-19

Despite the vaccinations, the emergence of new and more contagious variants of the COVID-19 disease has continued to pose threats and challenges to our lives. Until herd immunity is achieved, it is important to continuously perform screening tests to control and minimize the transmissions. Due to the reported shortcomings of the RT-PCR, the utilization of deep learning for detecting COVID-19 from Chest X-Ray (CXR) images has gathered a lot of interest from researchers. As a contribution to the field, this study proposes a deep learning pipeline that utilizes transfer learning and image enhancement techniques to classify whether a given CXR image exhibits characteristics of COVID-19 infection, pneumonia infection, or normal/healthy lungs. For a lighter approach, the small pre-trained model named EfficientNetB0 is used as the base model for the transfer learning method. To improve the network’s performance, a sequence of contrast enhancement techniques namely the Multi-Scale Retinex (MSR) and Contrast Limited Adaptive Histogram Equalization (CLAHE) is introduced in the pipeline and employed as a pre-processing step. Gathered from a 10-fold cross-validation method in a dataset with 3729 images per class, results show that the proposed approach achieves an average overall accuracy of 92.089% with 98.431% average precision, 95.119% average recall, and 96.741% average f1-score for the COVID-19 class.

A Continuous-Time Quadrature Bandpass Sigma-Delta Modulator with Capacitive Feedforward Chip Design for Phase Locked Loop Controllers 锁相环控制器的电容前馈连续正交带通Sigma-Delta调制器设计

A continuous-time quadrature bandpass sigma-delta (ΣΔ) modulator consisting of a chain of integrators with weighted capacitive feedforward summation (CICFF) topology is presented for LTE-A wireless controllers. The main advantage of the proposed modulator adopts the weighted capacitor technology to save a feedforward summation amplifier, hence reduces power consumption from QVCO. The phase locked loop was implemented in tsmc 0.18 μm CMOS process. With 1.8 V supply voltage and 160 M-samples/s and - 1.0 dBm 1 MHz sinusoid, measured results have achieved a dynamic range of 56 dB, a peak SNDR of 52.8 dB, a SFDR of 59 dB, an ENOB of 8.49-bit over 2.5 MHz signal bandwidth and a power dissipation of 18.5 mW. Including pads, the chip area is 1.3×1.5 mm2.

Machine Failure Diagnosis by Combining Software Log and Sensor Data 结合软件日志和传感器数据的机器故障诊断

Many studies have been conducted in the manufacturing industry to support the cause analysis and early recovery of production line shutdowns caused by machine failures. However, methods such as simple anomaly detection are not effective against large machines with complex behavior. In this study, we propose a method for such machines to show the estimated causes of failure by combining log text files and sensor data, which record software behavior and hardware status, respectively. The proposed method is twice as accurate as methods with only software logs or sensor data, and achieves explainability of the results.

The Effect of Single Tuned Filter on Coordinated Planning in Increasing Power Quality in Radial Distribution System 单调谐滤波器对协同规划提高径向配电系统电能质量的影响

The use of nonlinear loads in the distribution system becomes a separate problem in increasing the spread of harmonics which can reduce power quality. The effect of placing a single tuned filter was investigated to minimize total active power losses and minimum %THDv against coordinated planning that had been carried out previously using the particle swarm optimization method by considering the distribution of validated harmonics on the IEEE 69 bus Test Standard System with the constrain specified. The effectiveness of the proposed plan can reduce total active power losses up to 59.61% and reduce the value of %THDv in each bus up to 55.18%.

Harmonic Mitigation Through Enhancement Network Reconfiguration Technique on Coordinated Planning Using Hybrid Particle Swarm Optimization in Radial Distribution System 基于混合粒子群优化的径向配电网协调规划增强网络重构技术

Spread of current and voltage wave harmonic distortion due to the use of nonlinear loads. Effect of network reconfiguration technique on coordinated planning to improving power quality issue of radial distribution system has been investigated. Optimization a combination the optimal techniques such as DG placement, capacitor placement and network reconfiguration simultaneously to minimal total power losses, %THDv and voltage deviation validated on IEEE 33-bus Standard Test System using Hybrid Particle Swarm Optimization (H-PSO). It is found that enhancement of network reconfiguration technique that is used from the combination of the proposed techniques and compared with the previous research provided a more effective and efficient impact to improve the power quality on mitigated spread of harmonic in radial distribution system.

Renewable energy technologies are gaining momentum for power generation in grid connected as well as off-grid applications. Extending a traditional grid for rural electrification programs and islands could be quite expensive and this is motivating load centers to evaluate microgrid applications. Several smaller size (less than 1 MW) capacity micro grids are currently powering remote villages and use a mix of renewable technologies depending on the availability of the renewable energy resources. Large size micro grids (more than 1 MW) are expected to be developed in certain locations, particularly the islands as the islands developed for tourism have a huge power requirement. This paper aims at presenting a potential approach for developing large scale microgrid utilizing renewable energy resources for an island network. Various combinations of renewable generation technologies have been assessed and techno-economic analysis for AC grid is presented.

Wrist Based Wireless Vital Monitoring System for Continuous Assessment of Pre-term Neonates in NICU Environment 基于腕部无线生命监测系统的新生儿重症监护病房环境下早产儿持续评估

Continuous vital monitoring at neonatal intensive care unit (NICU)is inevitable to know the risk status of the pre-term neonates being admitted. Though various vital monitoring system are existing, there is still a huge demand towards meetings the requirements for resource constrained settings. This study suggests development of wrist based designed with medical grade plastic enclosure and an ankle based fabricated using medical grade textile and Velcro strap wireless vital monitoring system for continuous assessment of preterm neonates that can measure SPO2, heartrate and temperature. Two variant of prototype one for ankle band and another wrist based have been developed and its performance were compared with the standard portable wire-based patient monitoring system. The prototypes were tested with 123 preterm neonates over a period of 10 months after due ethical clearance. It was observed that the developed prototypes yield comparable to that of clinical standard system in terms of vital parameters and the designed prototype needs to be validated with neonates before introduction to the more clinical routine for assessment.

AGC of Hydro-Thermal Power Systems Using Sine Cosine Optimization Algorithm 基于正弦余弦优化算法的火电系统AGC

This work presents new and efficient optimization technique known as the Sine Cosine Algorithm (SCA) is proposed for Automatic Generation Control (AGC) of multi area power systems. At first two areas single unit of hydro-thermal and four areas hydro-thermal power system are implemented by using MATLAB Simulink program. the gains of PID controller are optimized employing by (SCA) and Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) with using a fitness function based on integral time Square error (ITSE). The superiority of the proposed (SCA) controller has been shown by comparing the results with (PSO) and conventional PID. Finally, simulation results validate the faculty and utility of the suggested (SCA) approach over the (PSO) algorithm and traditional ways to s to damp the transient deviations (frequency and power) and to provide zero steady-state error of these variables in a very short time.
