Mobile multi-service smart room client: Initial study for multi-platform development 移动多业务智能房间客户端:多平台开发初步研究

Smart Room provides a service set to automate such research and educational activity as conferences, lectures, and meetings. For human participants the services are accessible via mobile personal end-user devices. A mobile device hosts a smart room client, which registers the participant in the smart room space, shares her/his personal data and context, and accesses available services in the room. This paper reports recent progress of the smart room client development. Our key objectives are (1) development unification for various mobile platforms, where Windows Phone and Symbian are our reference cases; (2) support in the user interface of personalized access to the important services from a large set. Our initial study shows that objective (1) is an architecture design issue and our multi-platform development is based on tradeoffs between native mechanisms and portable solutions. We achieve objective (2) using HTML5 features, supported by many modern mobile platforms.

Toolset for SystemC code generation of heterogeneous platforms 异构平台的SystemC代码生成工具集

This paper considers the toolset for code generation of system model of the platform and automatic code generation test bench for generated components of the platform. Description of platform architecture as input data for tools and a described list of possible component types are provided. The work-flow description, SystemC platform opportunities and SystemC test bench code generator are demonstrated.

Since children learn work at the computer an early age, children's protection from inappropriate content becomes more urgent. User authentication is required to the personified system for information filtering. Today, almost every child has a ticket for public transport, which is a RFID-tag. That is why it was decided to use it as an identifier in authorization module. So this article is a detailed description of the system's authorization module which uses Mifare RFID-cards, as well as its advantages and disadvantages.

Preface of the 13th FRUCT conference proceeding 第十三届果会会议论文集前言

We welcome you to the 13th Conference of Open Innovations Association FRUCT. This is second time when our conference returns to the beautiful capital of Republic of Karelia — Petrozavodsk. The conference is hosted by Petrozavodsk State University, which has long positive history of pioneering and running long-term cross-border cooperation between Russia and Finland. The university teams have strong connections with other members of FRUCT Association and play the key role in many projects and working groups. The conference is organized by FRUCT in partnership and with financial support of ENPI Karelia CBC Programme 2007–2013 (projects KA-179 and KA-322), FRUCT and IEEE Russia (NorthWest) Section. The conference organization and travelling of the selected participants was supported by funding of Nokia University Cooperation Program in Russia, EMC2 Corporation sponsorship and EIT ICT Labs. Following FRUCT traditions, program of this conference includes 4 trainings, 1 workshop, 1 seminar, more than 10 conference sessions plus a special demo section combined with the conference social event. The events are packed into a number of intensive training modules and parallel presentation sessions that are scheduled into parallel tracks on April 22–26, 2013.

Intelligent tourist guiding service based on Smart-M3 platform 基于Smart-M3平台的智能导游服务

The paper proposes an intelligent tourist guiding service based on the Smart-M3 information platform and context management technology. It suggests attractions that are better to attend based on the tourist preferences and current situation in the region. The Smart-M3 platform implements a concept of the smart space providing the information sharing infrastructure in the intelligent tourist guiding service. The smart space is a decentralized infrastructure that allows different devices to share required information between them. The main benefit of the presented approach is to assist tourists in the region using their personal mobile devices. Such mobile devices need only Internet connection and capability to show appropriate information to tourists.

Towards Semantic Web: Seamless integration of services and devices for the FRUCT community 迈向语义网:为FRUCT社区无缝集成服务和设备

Semantic Web presents a generalized approach of applications and services integration that enables direct communication between different entities without any user interaction. Besides obvious advantages of Semantic Web usage, not all of proposed methods can work in a highly-diverse heterogeneous environment, the community or company intranet system usually looks like. In this paper we focus on FRUCT community online services integration under Semantic Web paradigm, aiming to provide an applicability assessment of particular service-to-service communication methods. Also we investigate the Semantic Web usefulness for Machine-to-Machine and Machine-to-Service communications, aiming to proceed with secure and convenient way of user authentication to a number of services. Finally, we conclude and highlight possible research issues that have to be solved during the evolution of Semantic Web.

Smart-M3 security: Authentification anc authorization mechanisms Smart-M3安全性:认证和授权机制

Smart spaces are dynamic environments for sharing device information. Key challenges for smart spaces include security and interoperability between heterogeneous devices. Thus, smart spaces and its environments must provide feasible solutions for authentication, access control and privacy. Open source Smart Space platform Smart-M3 is actively developed but does not have a sufficient security mechanism yet. The main focus of this paper is analysis and development of security mechanisms for Smart-M3 platform.

Event recording in Smart Room 智能房间事件记录

Activity tracking in smart space applications allows extending the applications with new features, such as automated generation of activity reports. In this paper we present a generic system — Event Recorder — that potentially can be used with any smart space application. We consider a particular case for Event Recorder: tracking events and producing summary reports of the activity held in Smart Room. The contribution of this study includes use case scenario and ontological representation model of Event Recorder, integration scheme of Event Recorder into the Smart Room system, and evaluation of appropriate visual formats for summary reports.

Roles of Smart TV in IoT-environments: A survey 智能电视在物联网环境中的作用:调查

In this paper we analyze the applicability of Smart TV in Internet of Things (IoT) environments. First, we list possible roles of TV in IoT-infrastructure and features that a platform should possess in order to act in the respective role. Then we evaluate existing Smart TV platforms according to presented requirements to figure out suitability of various platforms for usage in IoT.

Minimum battery draining rate aware optimized link state routing in wireless mesh network 无线网状网络中最小电池损耗率感知优化的链路状态路由

Wireless mesh network is a flexible, low cost and multi-purpose networking platform with wired infrastructure connected to the internet. In WMN nodes often have a limited battery supply to use for the sending and reception of transmissions. Routing protocols over WMN are an important issue and many proposals have been addressed to efficiently manage topology information, to offer network scalability and to prolong network lifetime. Optimized Link State Routing (OLSR) is a proactive type of routing which presents the advantage of finding a route between two nodes in the network in a very short time. It can consume lot of energy resources in selecting the Multi-point Relays (MPRs) and exchanging Topology Control information. To overcome this, we present a mechanisms for the OLSR routing protocol to improve its energy performance in Wireless Mesh Networks. We propose a Minimum Battery Draining Rate Aware (MDRA-OLSR) algorithm which utilizes the information collected by OLSR at every node in providing better network connectivity. We propose a modification in the MPR selection mechanism of OLSR protocol, based on the Willingness concept, in order to increase the network lifetime without losses of performance such as PDR, throughput etc. We consider both available energy and battery draining rate metric as a key criteria to select MPR in a set of MPRs. A comparison of an OLSR and MDRA-OLSR protocol is performed. The experiments are simulated using NS3 simulator by considering various situations such as changing speed of nodes, data rate and packet size by keeping the nodes position static and moving nodes dynamically. In this paper, we present the related works on utilization of energy as metric in routing, proposed model, simulation and discussions of the model in Wireless Mesh Networks.
