this to clarify the mechanical characteristics of “Tataki”, or artificial stone, made from waste of the siliceous tuff, a series of laboratory tests are carried out. The experiments involve unconfined compression test, bending test and needle penetration test. From the experimental results, the in-situ applicability of Tataki as geomaterials or civil engineering materials is discussed. EVALUATING INFLUENCE OF CEMENTATION ON SWELLING PROPERTIES OF BENTONITE BUFFER MATERIAL BASED ON THE RESULTS OF BENTONITE ORES 基于膨润土矿石试验结果,评价胶结对膨润土缓冲材料溶胀性能的影响

In the high-level radioactive waste geological disposal, bentonite buffer material will be keeping exposed to complex environmental of high pressure and high temperature. Therefore, bentonite buffer material will be consolidated and its physical properties such as swelling and permeability will be changed. In this study, the authors thought that bentonite raw ore, consolidated in the natural ground, will have similar properties of consolidated buffer material. Three sodium type bentonite ore were choosen whose mined places and age were different. For experimental evaluation of influence of cementation on swelling properties, the authors made undisturbed and reconstituted specimens, and conducted swelling pressure and one-dimen-sional swelling deformation tests. As a result, for the undisturbed specimens, it was tended to have lower swelling properties than the reconstituted specimens by the effect of cementation. Also, the swelling properties tended to decline as the geological age of the ores was older.

ESTIMATION OF GYPSUM HEMIHYDRATE CONTENT ON RECLAIMED GYPSUMS DERIVED FROM WASTE PLASTERBOARDS BY HEATING METHODS 用加热法测定从废石膏板中提取的再生石膏中石膏半水含量

In order to utilize reclaimed gypsums derived from waste plasterboards as ground improvement materials, thermal behaviors of reclaimed gypsums and reagent gypsums are investigated in this paper. Furthermore, simple heating method of judging quality of reclaimed gypsums was examined to determine gypsum hemihydrate content. As the results, it was found that gypsum dihydrate is changed into gypsum hemihydrate under thermal condition of 90°C and gypsum hemihydrate is changed into anhydrite under that of 120°C with heating of 24 hours. And determining by calculating gypsum hemihydrate content and gypsum dihydrate content with the decrease in mass under the thermal condition of 90°C from 70°C, effectiveness of the estimation of gypsum hemihydrate content by using heating method was shown. Therefore comparing gypsum hemihydrate content determined by both methods of the heating method and the density measuring method, both results were in substantial agreement.
