Indonesia's scientific publications in recent years have experienced a significant increase, both at the ASEAN and international levels. However, this achievement has not been evenly distributed, especially in the Islamic Religious Higher Education (PTKI) environment. This paper examines research productivity at PTKI qualitatively through two indicators. First, the quality and quantity of PTKI scientific journals. Second, the writing productivity of the PTKI academic community. Data is collected through various sources; Sinta, Moraref, SCImago, Ministry of Religion's Diktis data and several other secondary sources. The results of the study show, First, the number of PTKI journals ranked Sinta 1 (S1) is 8% or 7 of the total S1 journals. While the PTKI journals ranked Sinta 2 (S2) approximately 19% or 139 of the total journals at the S2 rank. Second, the productivity of writers who are included in the list of 500 productive researchers based on Sinta's data is 10 people from PTKI. In terms of journals and the productivity of researchers in the PTKI scope, the State Islamic Higher Education (PTKIN) and Private Islamic Higher Education (PTKIS) have not been evenly distributed. The results of this study indicate that aspects of equity and collaboration, both between PTKIN and PTKIS as well as PTKI with public universities and other research institutions, are important points in increasing research productivity within the PTKI scope.

The favorable growth of monthly scientific journals in Indonesia over the last three years has prompted them to improve the quality of their published papers, including the use of reference managers in manuscripts. The goal of this study is to provide a broad picture of how to reference managers are used in periodic scientific articles. A descriptive study using a cross-sectional technique was conducted. This study included 51 editors as subjects, including 27 editors in chief and 24 editors who manage Indonesian periodical scientific publications. Kobotoolbox and STATA were used to collect and analyze data. According to the report, 51.8 percent of original submission papers in recognized journals use reference managers, compared to 42.7 percent in unaccredited journals. Conclusion: Overall, only 48.0 percent of manuscripts employ reference managers when submitting them for the first time. The fact that 76.5 percent of journal editors are willing to give training on the use of reference managers is encouraging.

Nowadays a person's competence can be seen from how many writings he makes according to his competency. Likewise with the teaching profession, namely teachers. The teacher not only teaches students in class but is also required to be able to write their ideas through writing published in books and scientific journals both national and international accredited. One of the various activities in the framework of developing the teaching profession can be seen from how many of the number of teacher publications published in the form of books and mass media, moreover scientific journals, but in reality scientific publications from teachers are still considered minimal. Whereas, basically writing this kind of scientific writing is believed to be able to improve the professionalism of the teacher while improving the quality of the learning it conveys. More than that also scientific publications for teachers as a prerequisite for promotion and position so as to provide more motivation for them to make higher quality scientific work. This research method uses library research or library research. The conclusion in this study is that scientific publications for teachers besides being considered important because of the following, namely one of the conditions for promotion and position of the teacher, the existence of the competency of the teacher concerned and also developing and disseminating knowledge.

This research aims to find out the strategies that can be done to support the increase in scientific publications of lecturers and the academic community in STIBA Makassar. This research uses a descriptive-qualitative research approach. The object of this research is the internal and external environment of STIBA Makassar in the form of strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats analyzed using SWOT techniques. The results showed that the activities and research programs in STIBA Makassar environment can run well are strongly influenced or determined by internal and external aspects. Internal aspects can support the improvement of scientific publications when all the components involved can support the policies and roadmaps that are drawn up. External aspects can support the improvement of scientific publications when communication and partnership are established in an ongoing and reciprocity in developing programs that can benefit the community and the development of STIBA Makassar. Based on the results of SWOT analysis, strategic programs to support the improvement of scientific publications of lecturers and academic community in STIBA Makassar can be focused on three areas of development strategy, namely: (1) research development; (2) provision of institutional services, and (3) management support and implementation of other technical tasks.

Plagiarisme akademik di Indonesia memiliki berbagai bentuk kejadian dan kasus. Mulai dari kalangan pelajar hingga pendidik, memiliki catatan terpublikasi tentang kasus plagiarisme. Di era digital, variasi perilaku plagiarisme semakin beragam dikarenakan teknologi yang mempermudah proses penyalinan (copy) dan menempel (paste) sebuah tulisan. Tanpa adanya pengetahuan tentang makna mendalam, plagiarisme akan dianggap hal receh dan sebuah kesalahan yang ringan. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini akan menguraikan tentang makna, bentuk, dan juga rekomendasi implementasi pencegahan plagiarisme akademik yang dapat ditempuh dari berbagai pihak yang berkaitan. Untuk menjawab rumusan permasalahan, penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif yang berasal dari hasil observasi, analisis dokumen, dan analisis konten dari audio visual dan digital material (termasuk media sosial). Wawancara secara mendalam juga dilakukan kepada informan yang dipilih secara purposif. Hasil wawancara menjelaskan tentang alasan mahasiswa melakukan tindakan plagiarisme dalam pengerjaan tugas kuliah. Hasil analisis isi memberikan ringkasan tentang cara mencegah plagiarisme yang efektif serta cara mencegah plagiarisme yang tidak dianjurkan untuk diikuti. Penelitian juga menyajikan paparan sanksi-sanksi yang dapat dilakukan akibat dari perilaku plagiarisme. Penelitian ini menyajikan implikasi rekomendasi melalui dua pendekatan dalam mengupayakan pencegahan plagiarisme. yaitu pendekatan upaya mendasar dan pendekatan pencegahan khusus oleh lembaga pendidikan.

Penelitian ini membahas bagaimana kebutuhan masyarakat akan informasi dan ilmu pengetahuan di era digital. Open Acces Journal merupakan gerakan yang muncul ditengah kemajuan teknologi saat ini yang bertujuan mempermudah masyarakat untuk mendapatkan informasi dan ilmu pengetahuan yang dibutuhkan. Open Access Journal yang marak saat ini dapat membantu peningkatan literasi digital masyarakat dan bagaimana perannya akan dibahas dalam penelitian ini. Penelitian deskriptif kualitatif ini memanfaatkan sumber-sumber pustaka. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa Open Access Journal memiliki peran yang signifikan terhadap kemampuan literasi digital masyarakat karena Open Access Journal mendukung kemudahan dan kebebasan terhadap sumber-sumber informasi dan ilmu pengetahuan. Literasi digital membutuhkan dukungan kemudahan akses terhadap sumber-sumber literasi yang merupakan tujuan dari Open Access Journal itu sendiri. Indonesia memiliki jumlah jurnal Open Access yang terdaftar di DOAJ tertinggi dan menempati posisi pertama. Akan tetapi, jumlah tersebut belum sejalan dengan kemampuan literasi yang masih menjadi salah satu target capaian pemerintah untuk membentuk masyarakat Indonesia yang berliterasi.

Indonesia is a country and has the largest population in the world, but in terms of education and scientific publications, Indonesia is still far behind other countries, such as Malaysia and Singapore. And if we look at PT in Indonesia, PTKI under the auspices of the Ministry of Religion of the Republic of Indonesia is far behind from PTU. So this study aims to provide information and motivation in increasing scientific publications at Islamic Religious Colleges. The methodology of this research is descriptive qualitative with a library research model. The technique of this research is to collect data from primary sources, such as books related to the discussion of motivation for scientific publications. While the secondary sources in this research, namely books, accounts of Ristekdikti, Sinta and scientific articles related to the discussion. The results of the study can be concluded, that to increase interest and publication of scientific works at Islamic Religious Colleges, there are three methods that must be carried out by the university, namely Training (Workshop), Rewards and binding rules, so that with this motivation can provide an increase to make Islamic religious universities that can compete with other universities in the form of scientific publications for their lecturers and students.

For new journals, choosing the right name is very important. Apart from attracting the interest of authors and readers, the journal's name also determines the accreditation and indexation process. In addition to using names in national and international languages, the use of a combination of more than one type of language is also commonly used as journal names. This short communication aims to describe the names of journals in Indonesia indexed by Science and Technology Index (SINTA) at rank 1 and 2 regarding the language used. The method used is identifying journal names one by one on the SINTA journal page https://sinta.ristekbrin.go.id/journals at rank 1 and 2, followed by identification of the language used as the journal name. The results obtained show that journals at SINTA 1 rank the most used English names with 74.39%, while in SINTA rank 2, the most use Indonesian names with 57.19%.

The method used is identifying journal names one by one on the SINTA journal page https://sinta.ristekbrin.go.id/journals at rank 1 and 2, followed by identification of the language used as the journal name. The research is focused on seeing the causes of the low performance of lecturers and students in Christian Religious Colleges (PTKK). The three main things that were discussed and analyzed as the root of the problem were the lack of publication awareness, lack of support for infrastructure and funds, and minimal research awareness. Therefore, if PTKK does not immediately present a solution for these three aspects, PTKK will be left behind and eliminated from global competition. PTKK is required to carry out restructuring and repositioning regarding policies and actions to overcome these three things. All of this research based on a literature review and is presented descriptively—data taken from secondary sources, i.e., web, research reports, and books, including data processed from Sinta and GARUDA.

Text-based content has become the type of content that is most accessed and disseminated by Internet users in Indonesia, including scientific article content. The method of how scientific copyrights are organized and content distributed has become a key factor in the development of scientific journal. This situation is supported by the presence of Creative Commons with its CC open licensing concept. By extracting data from the Directory of Open Access Journal (DOAJ) on 13 February 2020, this article presents the distribution of the use of copyright and licenses in journals in Indonesia. The 1578 journals observed show that copyright ownership in scientific articles in Indonesia tends to be held by publishers, while forty percent of journals apply CC BY open licenses in their management. The phenomenon of the emergence of openness amidst the possible illiteracy of journal managers about the licenses types, which become blessing in disguise, is explained as the contribution of Indonesian culture as part of Eastern society that contributes to the preference of applying copyright and open licenses in Indonesian scientific journals.
