Great progress has been made in recent years on taxonomy of brown rot polypores based on phylogenetical evidence, mainly Daeadalea within Fomitopsidaceae. However, the relations within the Fomitopsidaceae family remain unresolved. Some neotropical species of Daedalea were never included in molecular phylogenetic analyses, such as D. aethalodes, D. ryvardeniana, and south American specimens of D. modesta. To clarify the relationships of those species within Daedalea we carried out molecular phylogenetic analyses based on five molecular markers (ITS, nLSU, nSSU, RPB2, and TEF-1). Daedalea s. s. was recovered as a strongly supported clade including most species, however, Daedalea radiata grouped with Rodofomitopsis. A new neotropical species, Daedalea rajchenbergiana sp. nov., was described based on molecular phylogeny, morphology, and distribution evidence. The placement of Daedalea aethalodes, D. ryvardeniana, and D. rajchenbergiana sp. nov. within Daedalea s. s. was confirmed.

The diversity of lignicolous agaric fungi is poorly known in Mexico. This group of fungi is responsible for the primary decomposition of wood, providing mineral elements that allow the nutrient cycles. The objective of this work was to reveal and confirm some lignicolous species present in Mexico with both morphological and molecular data. Thirteen species of eight genera, belonging to six families of lignicolous agaricoid fungi of the Agaricales were recorded, discussed, and illustrated, of which 11 are new records for Mexico. Considering our results, we confirm that Mexico is a Nearctic and Neotropical convergence zone of fungal taxa from both regions.

New Species and Combinations in the Cerrenaceae (Polyporales, Basidiomycota)

The classification and taxonomy of the Polyporales have undergone tremendous change and made significant progress in the last ten years. A case in point is the Cerrenaceae that was created just five years earlier. This is one of the smaller, lesser-known families with just five recognized genera and is well-defined and supported by phylogenetic analyses but difficult to characterize by morphology. Some genera and species in the Cerrenaceae display a range in basidiome habit, hymenophore configuration, and hyphal system that overlap with species from other families in the Polyporales and Agaricales. In this study, we clarify the morphological features that distinguish genera in the Cerrenaceae by conducting taxonomic studies in Irpiciporus, Pseudolagarobasidium, Pseudospongipellis, and Radulodon and presenting keys to the accepted species. Generic descriptions for Irpiciporus and Radulodon are revised. Two new taxa are described and illustrated, namely, Irpiciporus rajchenbergii from Brazil and Pseudospongipellis tomsovskyi from southwestern United States. In addition, four new combinations are proposed — Irpiciporus africanus, I. decolorans, I. revolubilis, and Pseudolagarobasidium cirrhatinum. Radulodon acacia, from India, is placed in synonymy under Pseudolagarobasidium acaciicola, and Irpiciporus noharae, from Japan, is confirmed to be a synonym of Lopharia mirabilis.
此外,还提出了四种新的组合:非洲Irpiciporus africanus,脱色I. decolorans,革命I. revolutionis和cirrhatinum Pseudolagarobasidium。

Fungi are the main decomposers of lignocellulose in temperate forests, and are classified as either white- or brown-rot, based on the ability to degrade lignin along with cellulose and hemicellulose. In this work, decomposition of Nothofagus pumilio wood by different wood-inhabiting fungal species was investigated through in vitro assays. Sapwood and heartwood blocks were individually exposed to 11 fungal species; mass loss was determined after 75, 135, and 195 days of exposure, comparatively analyzing the fungal ability to colonize and degrade this lignocellulosic substrate corresponding to both parts of the wood. Transverse section slices of the blocks were cut and separately stained with two types of dyes, Congo red and phloroglucinol, that are specifically associated with cellulose and lignin, respectively. Most of the species showed a different performance in sapwood and heartwood. Rhizochaete brunnea, Aurantiporus albidus and Phanerochaete velutina produced the greatest mass losses in sapwood. The latter two and Laetiporus portentosus produced the highest mass losses in heartwood, whereas Rh. brunnea was among the worst decomposers of this substrate. White rotters generally showed a higher ability to degrade the sapwood and brown rotters the heartwood. The fungal species that produced greater mass losses in heartwood than in sapwood grow on heartwood of living trees. Among white-rot fungi, two modes of action were identified: a) localized degradation, with zones of advanced decay in a less deteriorated matrix, and b) homogeneous degradation, with an even decay. Our results showed that many species have different performances in different substrates, reinforcing the importance of analyzing sapwood and heartwood decomposition separately, usually not done in this kind of studies.

Phylloporia species are characterized by having annual to perennial, with resupinate, pileate-sessile to pileate-stipitate basidiomata, and duplex context. They have monomitic to dimitic hyphal system, basidiospores are globose to cylindrical, thick-walled, yellowish to pale brown in KOH. The genus includes 72 species described worldwide, and only eight taxa have been recorded in Mexico, five of which have been molecularly characterized. The objective of this study is to describe and illustrate two new stipitate species of Phylloporia from the Chamela Biology Station located in the municipality of La Huerta in the state of Jalisco, Mexico: P. rajchenbergii and P. ryvardenii. For this, the specimens were reviewed in detail in order to describe their macroscopic and microscopic characteristics, DNA extraction was performed and the 28S rDNA (LSU) was amplified by PCR. Phylogenetic analyzes were performed using Bayesian Inference and Maximum Likelihood methods. It is corroborated that Phylloporia rajchenbergii and P. ryvardenii differ from the species described in the genus due to the color of the pileus, the size of the pores, the type of context (homogeneous in P. ryvardenii) and the size of the basidiospores; in addition, both species form different clades in the phylogenetic analyzes carried out.
