The quality of business education dwindles at a complex rapidity in the world. This phenomenon forces academician, researchers, think reservoir and policy maker’s en-route for scrutinize and review business education. India’s Management Education Institutions are expected to deliver quality out comes to employers, society and higher educational organizations. There are various concerns which require to be addressed for restructuring of management education which will be helpful to create an employment opportunities. Our paper discusses the management education’s various issues, challenges, position, student’s welfare and competitions in global mindsets which are needed to reduce the gap among the institutions, students, industry and academia. Paper examines the educational concerns that need to be tackled and find the possible directions so that management education can be recharged and make innovations in educational entrepreneurship along with business. With the above possessions paper has carried three objectives and to meet those objectives a couple of hypotheses are too set. Both qualitative and quantitative methods were used in the study. Finally, it revises the various involvement strategies related to the student core management education in addition to their emerging issues to the need of our inhabitants to achieve the sustainable development for an education system.

Learning Financial Analysis in MBA with R 用R学习MBA中的财务分析
Pub Date : 2015-04-29 DOI: 10.2139/SSRN.2600664

MBA students frequently learn financial analysis without being able to visualize the intricacies of financial algorithms; this changed with the availability of R, the free statistical data analysis language. In this paper we show how R can be used in selecting a portfolio based on the dynamic market. The selection of portfolio is crucial for an investor to get the desired return. The use of statistical tools for the selection of stocks in the portfolio is helpful in hedging the risk or to decide the level of risk the investor wants to be exposed to. Using the R language, an investor can visualize the performance of his/her portfolio by graphing the projected returns. It is a decision making tool in the selection and evaluation of the portfolio.

In this paper we analyse a survey of MBA students for gender sensitivity and its correlation to learning traits in MBA students. We find the survey data from 78 South Karnataka MBA students support the commonly accepted hypothesis that a well adjusted student is also gender sensitive; there are 58 questions in the study which define the notion of well adjusted student and 4 questions that define gender sensitiveness. We also find the MBA students in South Karnataka are well adjusted and not the typical stereotypes portrayed in the Indian media. We use R to correlate four gender related answers to other learning trait answers and present it with our insights. We also use Welch’s t-test to identify differences in opinion between the genders. Although correlation is not causation, it is our best statistical indicator of the student psyche. Using this study as a basis, we suggest ways to improve gender sensitivity in higher education to meet the demand for a well balanced gender sensitive global workforce.

Employability: Short Term and Long Term 就业能力:短期和长期

In a competitive, culturally diverse and increasingly internationalized workplace students cannot any longer assume that possession of a tertiary degree will naturally lead to employment. There has been a shift in the mindset of employers, who now seek to employ graduates with “employability” skills and attributes in addition to traditional expertise within their discipline. At first glance this appears to have placed an additional burden on universities in preparing students to be active citizens and engaged leaders, both within their chosen field. This paper discusses the project we embarked upon to compare the skills and attributes that employers consider most desirable with those traditionally required for academic success. We sought to determine to what degree these two skill sets can co-exist in units of study and found that have the same underlying principles as, traditional academic skills. By considering these principles we believe it is possible to design learning experiences that support the development of both sets of skills and to embed such learning experiences in the content and teaching of discipline-specific courses, thus developing employability skills while maintaining academic rigor. This will help students meet the twin goals of obtaining a tertiary degree and maximizing their employability potential

Mathematics is a subject on which many business and management courses rely. In this paper the researcher reports on the processes involved in the design of itemised genetic decompositions for certain mathematics tasks. The manner by which this is done may be extended to teaching and learning in management courses in higher education. The researcher used two tasks, one in a high school context from a previously published study and another from a qualitative case study which explored the development of mental constructions of a group of fourth-year pre-service teachers during definition making of certain mathematical concepts in real analysis, at a South African higher education institution. Questionnaires based on two items involving the concept of infinity were administered to those participating pre-service teachers. The pre-service teachers were allowed to respond to these items without lecturer involvement so that a learner-centred learning environment was created. Their mental constructions of these concepts were analysed by using an APOS (Action-Process-Object-Schema) framework. Forty six pre-service teachers, specialising in the teaching of mathematics in the FET school curriculum, participated in the project. It was found that the APOS designed questionnaire generated thick data that led to a modification of the initial genetic decomposition formulated. This modified genetic decomposition has didactical implication for business and management courses taught in higher education. This is illustrated in the recommendations section of this paper.
使用APOS(动作-过程-对象-图式)框架分析了他们对这些概念的心理结构。
