Resumo Objectives: to determine the prevalence of pathological findings according to the type of chorionicity in pregnancies in two institutions in Bogotá, Colombia. Methods: descriptive, retrospective, cohort study. Biometric variables were calculated, and pathological findings were evaluated according to the type of chorionicity in multiple pregnancies. Statistical characterization was performed with absolute frequencies, calculation of relative frequencies in qualitative variables, standard deviation measures, median and interquartile range. In addition, a descriptive analysis of the information was carried out. Results: 528 studies were carried out in 141 pregnant women, 98.5% (n = 139) twins and 1.4% (n = 2) triplets. A prevalence of 35.4% of fetal complications was calculated. The most frequent was fetal growth restriction (p=0.37). According to each type of chorionicity, fetal growth restriction was presented in 50% (1/2) of the trichorionics, 16.6% (7/42) of the monochorionics, and 11.3% (11/97) of the dichorionics. Conclusion: fetal growth restriction was the most common finding, both in trichorionics, monochorionics and dichorionics pregnancies.

Abstract Objectives: to analyze the nutritional status and temporal trend of the coverage of Brazilian adolescents monitored in the Food and Nutritional Surveillance System in the period 2008-2019. Methods: ecological study of temporal series with SISVAN data collected from 2008 to 2019 with 45,869.266 registration. Body mass index data were collected and the registration coverage of adolescents monitored by the system was calculated. The percentage of annual variation in coverage and nutritional status was estimated using Prais-Winsten regression, with a significance level of 5%. Results: an increase in the prevalence of obesity was observed between 2008 and 2019, during this period thinness remained stable in Brazil. National coverage evolved from 9.3% in 2008 to 19.6% in 2019, with an annual variation of 9% and a statistically significant increase trend. In Brazil, obesity in this age group increased between 2008 and 2019, with an annual variation of 8.7% (CI95% = 7.8-9.6). Conclusion: modifications were observed in nutritional status suggest the occurrence of nutritional transition in the adolescents’ population. The percentage of coverage available in the system has growth potential, however, the current scenario impacts on a possible insufficient analysis to support the elaboration and reorientation of public policies.

Abstract Objectives: to determine and characterize the prevalence of congenital malformations among live births in Rondônia, from 2015 to 2019. Methods: an ecological study was conducted using publicly available data at Sistema de Informações sobre Nascidos Vivos collected in January 2021. The prevalence of congenital malformation and possible associations were calculated. The strength of the association between variables was measured using the odds ratio. Variables that were statistically significant at the 5% level were selected for adjusted odds ratio calculation using logistic regression models. The R programming language was used for all analyses and interactions with the database. A 95% confidence interval was considered. Results: a total of 1,110 records were analyzed. The overall prevalence of congenital malformation was 8.36, with higher rates observed among mothers over 35 years, those with low educational levels, unmarried status, and preterm birth. Infants with low birth weight and low Apgar scores also had higher prevalence rates of congenital malformations. Conclusion: the prevalence of congenital malformations in the state was similar to the national average, but regional disparities were observed and warrant further investigation.

Abstract Objectives: to analyze the donation of human milk at the Banco de Incentivo e Apoio a Amamentação (BIAMA) (Breastfeeding Incentive and Support Bank) from 2018 to 2020. Methods: normative assessment, descriptive and exploratory character, with a quantitative approach and focus on the Donabedian Model. Study with a locus at BIAMA at Dom Malan Hospital, in the city of Petrolina-PE, based on registrations from the online platform of the Rede Brasileira de Bancos de Leite Humano (Brazilian Network of Human Milk Banks), with data from BIAMA from 2018 to 2020 and field activities. Results: in 2020, there was a decrease in the number of group assistance and medical consultations, in contrast to the increase in nursing consultations. Most of the milk supply comes from the external public, and in 2020 there was a reduction number of donors and in the volume of human milk collected. Conclusions: COVID-19 pandemic had a negative impact on BIAMA activities and on milk donation, however, the use of new means of communication for patient care was observed. Even so, new donor recruitment strategies must be implemented. Regarding the main norms that regulate the operation of Human Milk Banks, most of the items listed are obeyed by BIAMA.

Abstract Objectives: to analyze the impact of the covid-19 pandemic on screening, diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer in Pernambuco, Northeastern Brazil. Method: cross-sectional study, based on secondary data from consultations with a mastologist, ultrasound, mammogram, biopsies, new cases, chemotherapy, radiotherapy and surgery, carried out in women for the screening, diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer, from January to December of the years 2019 to 2021. Results: the covid-19 pandemic reduced consultations with mastology (46.3%), ultrasounds (34.8%), mammogram (41.5%), biopsy (49.6%), new cases 45.7 % and surgery 34.6% in 2020 compared to 2019. On the other hand, with the exception of consultations with a mastologist and surgeries, all services where a significant reduction was observed in 2020, increased significantly in 2021 and returned to the same level of production in the pre-pandemic period. The pandemic did not negatively affect the supply of chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Conclusions: the findings of this study indicate negative impacts on breast cancer care, due to covid-19, during the first year of the pandemic, especially in consultations with a mastologist and surgery, which continued with low production in 2021. It is reasonable to assume that the reduction observed in procedures may reflect an increase in late diagnoses and a higher mortality rate in the coming years

Abstract Objectives: to investigate the association between sociodemographic, gestational/puerperal factors and postpartum weight retention (PPWR) after 12 months in Brazilian women at a university hospital. Methods: prospective cohort with puerperal women recruited at the maternity ward of a university hospital in a Brazilian metropolis. At baseline (n=260), sociodemographic and anthropometric information on the mother-child binomial and data related to the gestational period were collected. Maternal dietary patterns were measured using a food frequency questionnaire and subsequently determined by Principal Component Analysis. Results: 75 women, with a mean age of 28.4 years (CI95%= 27.0-29.7), 25.3% with excessive PPPR, with an average of 3.6 kg (CI95%= 1.7) continued in the follow-up. -5.4). Higher gestational weight gain (GWG) (ß= 0.36; CI95%= 0.18-0.70) and lower maternal age (ß= -0.41; CI95%= -0.92–-0.22) were PRPP predictors (p=0.001) (adjusted for per capita income, parity, type of delivery, number of prenatal visits, baby’s birth weight, breastfeeding and physical activity). Conclusion: there was a high occurrence of excessive PPPR, favored by higher GPG and lower maternal age. This highlights the importance of monitoring women’s health during the reproductive period, with guidance on ways of life (diet and physical activity), to favor better outcomes for mother-child.

Abstract Objectives: to describe behavioral changes related to mental health in children and adolescents with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder during social isolation due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: this is a systematic review conducted under the PRISMA protocol (2020) in the PubMed, SciELO and VHL databases, with a period of 2019-2022. Results: 3,735 studies were screened and ten were selected, according to the eligibility criteria. The sample had 4,688 participants. There was evidence of a worsening of signs and symptoms regarding the mental health of this population, expressed mainly through changes in mood, with increased anxiety, sadness or depressed symptoms, in addition to increased hyperactivity. Behavioral changes also included reduced sleep quality and physical activity, and increased use of digital technologies and screen time. Conclusions: it was described that children and youth groups, especially those with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, had increased emotional symptoms and conduct problems when compared to before the pandemic, making it possible to recognize the negative repercussions of the changes imposed by it. These factors are important for planning more effective care strategies.

Abstract Objectives: to evaluate the reliability of information available on popular websites, in other words, websites aimed lay pregnant women, about absolute and relative indications for cesarean sections. Methods: this was a descriptive/comparative study based on the popular websites most likely to be visited by lay pregnant women and that contained information about indications for absolute and relative cesarean sections. Cohen’s Kappa index of agreement was used to analyze the reliability degree on the indications for cesarean sections presented on the websites and the scientific evidence. Results: there was a higher prevalence (62.63%) of information on the indications for cesarean sections that did not mention whether the indication was absolute or relative, and of these indications, 40.74% were not indications for cesarean sections. Low agreement was also observed among websites and the scientific evidence when the website mentioned the indication for cesarean section was absolute or relative. Conclusion: this study showed that the reliability of the information on absolute and relative indications for cesarean sections available in popular websites is questionable.

Low agreement was also observed among websites and the scientific evidence when the website mentioned the indication for cesarean section was absolute or relative. Conclusion: this study showed that the reliability of the information on absolute and relative indications for cesarean sections available in popular websites is questionable.","PeriodicalId":35416,"journal":{"name":"Revista Brasileira de Saude Materno Infantil","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"67142595","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Abstract Objectives: to analyze the trend and correlation of obesity and the increase in continued breastfeeding in children aged six to 23 months in Brazil, from 2015-2019. Methods: ecological time series study with data from the Sistema de Vigilância Alimentar e Nutricional (Food and Nutritional Surveillance System). The dependent variable was the prevalence of obesity. Prais-Winsten linear regression was used to verify the trend. Spearman’s correlation was used to verify the relationship between the prevalence of obesity and the increase in continued breastfeeding. Results: there was a trend towards a reduction in the prevalence of obesity in all regions in Brazil (Annual Percentage Variation [APV]: -4.14; CI95%=-4.50; -3.79). The prevalence of continued breastfeeding showed an upward trend in the North (APV=4.89; CI95%=2.92; 6.90), Southeast (APV=3.36; CI95%=2.32; 4 .41) and South (APV=2.67; CI95%=0.98; 4.38). There was a negative and significant correlation between obesity and continued breastfeeding in the North, Northeast, Southeast and South regions. Conclusion: the reduction in the prevalence of obesity and the increase in continued breastfeeding occurred only in some regions, requiring the implementation of effective strategies to be present throughout the country. Actions to promote, protect and support continued breastfeeding and healthy eating should be more prioritized to promote the child’s healthy growth.

Abstract Objectives: to evaluate the relationship between the ductus venosus (DV) and the variables of fetal growth in the first trimester in a Colombian pregnant population. Methods: a descriptive cross-sectional study was carried out with secondary data obtained from a multicenter study.526 patients were included between weeks 11 and 14 for gestational ultrasound follow-up attended in three health care institutions in Bogotá, Colombia, between May 2014 and October 2018. A bivariate descriptive analysis was carried out where the relationship between the characteristics of the DV in the first trimester and ultrasound findings. Results: the flow wave of the DV in the first trimester was normal in the entire sample, with a pulsatility index of the ductus venosus (DVPI) of 0.96±0.18. In addition, a negative correlation was found between the crown-rump length (CRL) and the DVPI (p<0.05). Conclusion: there is a relationship between the DVPI regarding the CRL, indicating an interest in this early marker in relation to fetal growth alterations; however, more studies are required to determine the usefulness of this variable with respect to fetal growth.
