This contribution provides a transcription and translation of, and a comment- ary on, a letter of the German-Dutch-Japanese polymath Peter Hartzing (1637–1680) to Gerhard Wolter Molanus (1633–1722), abbot of Loccum and famous collector of coins and medals. The archaeological site of Riacho das Reliquias is located in Serido potiguar´s microregion, in the city of Carnauba dos Dantas, whose archaeological researches have been developed since the beginning of the twentieth century´s eighties. The archaeological sites under protection were object of study to several researchers that worked or still work in this area. Though, the researches with open pit sites started and a new approach is being drawn for this region. The site Riacho das Reliquias has 380 m of middle height and is located in a valleys´ area, cutted by the brook that named it. The erosion process caused disturbance in the site, due to the brook´s temporary water stream. The sites located in fluvial terraces are described and inserted in a pre-defined rating in the braziliang archeology as encampment sites, based on natural periods of rivers´ floodand drought. Thus, this work features the archaeological material disposed in the site in according to his techno-typology. Once he site Riacho das Reliquias suffers natural disturbance every year, it was not possible to set up functional areas and chronology. The Serido´s cultural historical reconstruction continues with the systematic aim of list the data from researches developed in the region. This register could broaden the cultural horizon of the pictorial traditions, setting up chronological data. Then, it is believed that is possible to dispose from one more recent study about other areas of activity from primitive groups in this region.

This written report deals with the elaboration and applicability of a Public Archeology Program associated to Patrimonial Education actions in the communities that are in the surroundings of the Seridó Parelhas / Carnaúba dos Dantas RN adductor system. The Seridó Area has high archaeological potential, although the region is the second in the Northeast in terms of the number of sites with paintings and rock engravings, the category of National Park of permanent preservation has not yet been elevated. Thus, the Applied Project intends to recognize the belonging of the local community in relation to that Patrimony, since its valorization is one of the guarantees of safeguard of the sites. The activities were carried out in Elementary and Middle schools of the respective localities, as well as in the Quilombola Community of Boa Vista dos Negros, having as a guiding thread the valuation and identification of the students with the local patrimony. It was possible to verify that the sense of belonging and appreciation of the local patrimony was emphasized in the students, professors and members of the communities, through lectures, workshops and exhibition of archaeological artifacts, where an interaction was verified between the target public and the multidisciplinary team. The result of Patrimonial Education was obtained through its continuity, permeated by an exchange of knowledge between the spectators and their relatives, in order to become guardians in the protection of the local cultural patrimony.

Rock art records have been an important evidence of human groups in Prehistory. Brazil, today, it’s considered the country with the greater concentration of archaeological sites with rock art records in the whole world. Thus, in the Northeastern region, there is a significant recurrence of sites with rock art in the archaeological complex of Paulo Afonso, located in the municipality of Paulo Afonso, Bahia. This paper aims to characterize the archaeological potential take into account the geoenvironment context of the region. The archaeological potential analysis is settled methodologically, in the state of art of the mainly researches developed in that region, once that the primarily motivation for this study is concentrated in the lack of data over the Paulo Afonso area and the heritage archaeological preservation inserted in that archaeological complex. In general, the intention of this study is to generate subsides for futures researches to seek to fill the lack of discussion about the prehistoric human occupation process in the São Francisco valley.

This article aims to develop an archaeotourism circuit of the Vapor Pirapama, using a methodology of museum curation that emphasizes the tourist, historical, archaeological and cultural biases, with emphasis on some aspects of Naval Art of shipwreck. The methodological procedures involved are: bibliographical research, materials and images pertinent to the subject. There are great possibilities for success in the adoption of this system by the tourism sector, without ceasing to fulfill its role for entertainment and still add value to the underwater cultural heritage of the city of Recife.
