Left Handed Metamaterial Design for Microstrip Antenna Application 用于微带天线应用的左手超材料设计

The speculation and invention of Left-Handed Meta Material (LH MTM) had sparked the interest of many researchers globally and was said to help increase the gain and directivity of the microstrip antenna. This paper discusses the design, simulation, fabrication and measurement of LH MTM in order to proof the claims. As of the structure design, the combination of the Square Rectangular Split Ring and the Thin Wire Structure was used for fabrication purposes on an FR-4 Board using the Wet Etching Technique. From the simulation, the gain of the antenna had increased to 1.2 dB while in the measurement, 2 dB and 4 dB of increment were observed in the maximum power received of the antenna for the E-Field and H- Field respectively. This had proven that the focusing effect of the LH MTM really enhance the gain of the antenna. On the other hand, the Return Loss (S11) had improved by 9.62 dB and 12.29 dB in the simulation and measurement results respectively. Therefore, we could also conclude that LH MTM also contributed to the betterment of the matching of the antenna.

Investigation of Multilayer Probe-Fed Microstrip Antenna for Ultra Wideband Operation 用于超宽带工作的多层探针馈电微带天线研究

In this paper a multilayer multi-resonator probe-fed microstrip antenna is numerically investigated using Method of Moments (MoM). The antenna structure includes a feed patch and two parasitic patches located on the bottom layer while another parasitic patch is placed on the top layer and the two layers are separated by an air gap. The effect of feed-point location and distance between parasitic patches with feed patch on the radiation performance of the antenna are investigated. The results show that impedance bandwidth of 7.6 GHz (53.9%) for VSWR<2 and gain of 7.53 dB is obtained.

A Wideband Circularly Polarized Patch Array for V-band Low-Cost Applications 用于v波段低成本应用的宽带圆极化贴片阵列

In this paper, we present a 60 GHz low-cost circularly polarized patch array antenna which exhibits excellent axial ratio performances. The 3 dB axial ratio bandwidth has been measured to be about 11.25%. The 10 dB return loss bandwidth is up to 17% while the gain is about 10.2 dBi at 60 GHz. These results have been obtained by applying a sequential feeding array to an aperture-coupled truncated corner patch. To the best knowledge of the authors, this work is the first report of a 60 GHz low-cost microstrip aperture-coupled patch antenna which presents such performances.

Cryogenic front end (CRFE) receivers consisting of a high temperature superconducting filter and a cooled low noise amplifier placed between a base station antenna and a receiver electronics can significantly increase coverage and capacity in the presence of interference. In this paper the development of a family of CDMA CRFEs (D 6-9 and M1) by Cryoelectra GmbH and their performance are presented.

Electromagnetic band gap millimeter and sub-millimeter 3D resonators manufactured by ceramic stereolithography 用陶瓷立体光刻技术制造的电磁带隙毫米和亚毫米三维谐振器

Innovative resonant cavities based on 2D and 3D Electromagnetic Band Gap crystal properties are presented in this paper. Their geometrical sizes and shapes have been designed and optimized in order to obtain satisfying electrical performances concerning the resonant frequency and the unloaded Q factor. A particular attention has been paid to the Input/Ouput feeding of the structures. The EBG crystals have been designed, optimized and manufactured in one monolithic piece with zirconia or alumina materials. Two specific 3D ceramic stereolithography processes have been developed. Experimental structures have been manufactured and successfully tested compared to the theoretical results.

Phase Range Analysis of Patch Antenna Reflectarray Based on Nematic Liquid Crystal Substrate With Dynamic RCS Variation 动态RCS变化的向列液晶基板贴片天线反射阵相程分析

In this paper, the phase agility of the patch antenna periodic array using K15 nematic liquid crystal as the dielectric medium is presented. Numerical and experimental results at X-band are used to compare the plane wave scattering parameter from a two patch antenna reflectarray cell of 500 mum. The dependence of reflection phase versus frequency and gradient on loss tangent is characterized. A tunable dynamic phase range of 221deg is achieved over a bandwidth of 170 MHz with dielectric anisotropy of 0.17. The simulated results are validated by experimental measurements. Furthermore the measured results demonstrate that within a certain frequency band, at any frequency, the RCS of the reflectarray can be dynamically controlled using DC bias voltage and hence its RCS signature can be reduced electronically.

Compact GaInP/GaAs HBT Gilbert Mixers With On-Chip Active LO Balun 紧凑型GaInP/GaAs HBT吉尔伯特混频器片上有源LO Balun

A Gilbert micromixer is demonstrated in this paper using GalnP/GaAs HBT technology. The RF, LO, and IF ports of the micromixer are all single-ended using the on-chip active LO balun. The port-to-port isolation has its best performance when the LO signal is balanced. The stand-along micromixer is suitable for hybrid RF system applications. The fully matched high linearity micromixer has the conversion gain of 12 dB, IPIdB of-9 dBm, IIP3 of 1 dBm when input IF=300 MHz, LO=3.5 GHz and output RF=3.8 GHz.

Analysis and Design of the Cavity Loaded slot Array 空腔槽阵的分析与设计

This paper applies the method of equivalent magnetic current to the field-solve problem of slot antenna which is backed by a single cavity and excited by a waveguide discrete, then it gets the boundary integral equations above the surfaces of the slots .Next uses the method of moment to solve the equations and gets the field structure of the particular antenna. Through using the theory of array antenna, it gets the directivity pattern of the slot array antenna. This directivity pattern is compared to the measured directivity pattern, and gets a nice result.

High-Tc Superconducting Dual-mode Disk Resonators with Attenuation Poles using Ground-slot 利用地槽衰减极点的高tc超导双模圆盘谐振器

In order to meet stringent requirements on transmit filters, high-Tc superconducting dual-mode disk resonators with attenuation poles have been designed, fabricated, and measured. Using a ground-slot perturbation along the asymmetric plane from the feeder lines, the resonator fabricated with YBCO superconducting double-sided films showed high performance with attenuation poles at the both sides of the passband resulting in higher selectivity. From the experimental results, a design concept focusing on phase responses was found to be applicable to the appearance method of the attenuation poles.
