In this study, the e ff ects in terms of electric stress of composite voltages on a high-voltage disconnector were investigated. The main purpose of this study is to determine and evaluate the e ff ects of the conditions that may occur in real working conditions but out of the type tests. As for the disconnector model, one phase of a center-break disconnector was considered. In order to examine the e ff ects of composite voltages on high-voltage disconnectors, a model is de fi ned in the Comsol Multiphysics program. Di ff erent types of voltages such as operating voltage, 50 Hz test voltage, lightning impulse voltage, and composite voltage, were applied to the 170 kV disconnector model separately. After applying a composite voltage consisting of power frequency voltage and lightning impulse voltage to the disconnector, electric potential and electric fi eld distributions were obtained. It has been observed that the maximum electric potential and the maximum electric fi eld strength values on the disconnector are higher when composite voltage is applied than when non-composite voltage is applied to the disconnector. It is observed that the intensity of the electric fi eld lines increases near the contacts of the current-carrying arm and the main contacts of the disconnector.

An approach to obtain e ff ective control of insertion loss (IL) in wideband substrateintegrated waveguide (SIW) band-pass fi lter with several tapered Iris con fi gurations is presented in this paper. Several iris con fi gurations and iris parameters have been minutely studied and e ff ective postulates have been provided for accurate design of fi lters with low IL throughout the transmission bandwidth. Basic structure is designed over a substrate with dielectric constant 3.2 and material thickness of 30 mils. The structures are then successfully modi fi ed into a band-pass fi lter with its pass band in Ku bands with minimal IL using waveguide iris method. The technique e ff ectively serves the purpose to achieve greater control over the IL and isolation. Maximum IL of 2 dB is reduced by 1.5 dB and close to 0.5 dB IL is obtained in the fi nal con fi guration using the tapering technique. Proposed techniques are supported with theoretical explanations. All designs are fabricated, and measured results are found to validate the concept produced in this paper. The study provides a direct solution to the SIW Iris fi lter design engineers considering all major parameters necessary foriI ndust rial/ scien ti fi c productions.

In this paper, an adaptive predictive control for controlling and stabilizing fractional order chaotic systems around the equilibrium point is provided. The stability of fractional order chaotic systems around equilibrium points in the presence of parameter uncertainty has been demonstrated using Lyapunov's stability theorem. In addition, the uncertain parameters of fractional order chaotic systems are calculated using appropriate adaptive methods based on the proposed predictive controller structure. Rossler and Chen systems were considered to numerical simulations. The results demonstrated the adaptive predictive control method's usefulness and performance
