The Effects of Intergenerational Ministry on the Transmission of Christian Faith in Korean Immigrant Churches in the United States 代际事工对美国韩裔移民教会基督教信仰传播的影响

Given the challenges of young people leaving the Christian faith, this research sought to explore the effects of intergenerational ministry on the transmission of the Christian faith to the next generation of Korean immigrant churches in the United States. A total of 35 participants (primary sample: 17 young adults; subsamples: nine parents and nine pastors) participated in semi-structured in-depth interviews. Results from this study generated nine themes revealing factors and effects of intergenerational ministry.

A Metacognitive Analysis of Conceptual Thinking in Spiritual Formation Utilizing Vygotsky's Concept Theory 运用维果茨基概念理论对精神形成过程中概念思维的元认知分析

Many works have enriched the historical body of Christ by advancing the need for Christians to become better theologians so that they may, in turn, disciple others unto maturity. While Bible studies are crucial for Christian growth, Christians must employ systematic doctrines of the Scripture to learn to think theologically. This article introduces the Theological Concept Formation model, which can help mature Christians better understand how to connect different concepts in the Scriptures to disciple others and educate them toward maturity in Christ. The proposed model is based on the Vygotskian concept formation model, which provides a suitable framework for Christian scholars and educators to teach theological cognition using theological concepts. Firstly, this article proposes that Scripture is the purposive language of the imago Dei. Secondly, Scripture purports an analogous association with human development and Christian maturity.

This article suggests an integration of Barbara Rogoff's sociocultural development theories into Christian faith transmission. Drawing from Confessional Anglican Churches in Sydney, it examines prevailing models of children's ministry influenced by Western schooling principles. Highlighting Rogoff's intent community participation and cultural learning theories, it argues for their applicability in fostering meaningful children's ministry practices among children and the alignment with Confessional Anglican theology. It concludes with suggestions for application in children's ministry practice.

This article posits a way forward for church-based Christian Education following the Covid-19 pandemic lockdowns. Drawing on the writings of Kierkegaard, it is proposed that both a “leap of faith” and an “interruption” of linear learning might establish a more authentic way of relating to children's spirituality. Including examples from practice, the icon is visited as a pedagogical tool that inspires possibility and wrestles with fixed ideas to inspire new meanings for children today.
