AbstractThis article explores camming practices in India where performers like Oasi Das utilize platforms such as Instagram to invite subscription to their OnlyFans profiles. Focusing on the intersection between Instagram reels, OnlyFans, and escort services, the article locates the varied entrepreneurial modes used by such adult performers. This article investigates the affective encounters between heterosexuality and homosexuality within gay pornography. Looking at three examples – Fraternity X’s Trump Pump, Men.Com’s Fuck the Phony, and Icon Male’s The Therapist – affective resonances of disgust, amusement, and sadness (respectively) are uncovered. Academic writing on straightness in gay pornography has often emphasized either its oppressive effects or its subversive effects. While these three case studies are widely different in tone, style, and content, they all incorporate a more ambivalent affective relationship between gayness and the heteromasculine power represented by straight men than previously discussed. All three films mix the erotic adoration of straight men with derision and mockery, allowing heteromasculinity to remain an object of desire while still maintaining an affirmative gay identity.

ABSTRACTAdapted (without permission) from Kenneth Anger’s notorious book about early Hollywood scandals, the 1972 sexploitation version of Hollywood Babylon is a quasi-documentary that alternates between public-domain footage from silent-era films and softcore re-enactments of some of Anger’s most lurid anecdotes. The film’s generic reframing of his dubious stories as late-period sexploitation fodder participates in the book’s mission of desacralizing the stars, but its reticence to include unsimulated sex softens the punch of its scandalous subject matter, while inadvertently flaunting Anger’s fictionalization of history. ABSTRACTWakefield Poole’s 1971 pornographic arthouse film Boys in the Sand stages a lavish cruising encounter in Fire Island’s Meat Rack, a globally rare ecosystem now threatened by rising sea levels and erosion. Shadowing Glyn Davis – who maps the erotic convergences between the Situationist dérive and practices of homosexual cruising – I locate the Meat Rack’s sexual and cinematic appeal in its knotted spatiality as both passage and destination. This article glances back and forth between the verdant gay Brigadoon mythologized in Poole’s film and the erosive terrain of the Island’s precarious future, in order to test Sarah Ensor’s theorization of cruising as ‘an unexpected model for a new ecological ethic’. Ultimately, this article underscores the ambivalence of Boys in the Sand as a pornographic requiem for an Island at risk, and a nature trampled by the steps we take to satiate our ‘natural’ desires.
