Загрязнение внутривакуумных компонентов реактора ИТЭР в ходе аварий, связанных с попаданием в рабочую камеру воды из системы водяного охлаждения установки, представляет опасность для последующей работы как всей установки, так и отдельных диагностических систем. В настоящей статье рассмотрен процесс деградации оптических свойств монокристаллических молибденовых зеркал, используемых в ряде оптических диагностик, при их взаимодействии с водой и паром. Экспериментально исследована динамика изменения коэффициентов зеркального отражения и диффузного рассеяния зеркал в зависимости от времени и режима воздействия. Показано, что наихудший сценарий, представленный в документах ИТЭР под названием steam event, хорошо моделируется воздействием дистиллированной воды при температуре ≈97 oС. Полученные в ходе данных экспериментов образцы молибденовых зеркал с имитационным загрязнением были использованы для тестирования работы плазменной системы очистки зеркал на основе аномального тлеющего разряда в сеточном полом катоде с использованием постоянного или импульсного тока. Показано, что очистка молибденовых зеркал от загрязнений, полученных в ходе моделирования аварийных ситуаций с попаданием воды в рабочую камеру реактора, с использованием аргона в качестве плазмообразующего газа способна восстановить оптическое качество зеркала практически до исходного уровня.
