The investigation o f the large engraving production in the Netherlands of the 16th, century, it is to say of the efflorescence of the engraving, unique phenomenon in the history of art, is envisaged in: the framework of the relation Michelangelo - Netherlands, Would Buonarroti have plaid a major roles Michelangelo being specialist in the human representation, in particular for what concerns the nude, whould the Netherlandish engraving have inherited absolutely of his art? Vasari,. DoIce and many others have set the master at the top of the hierarchy of the masters of his time. However, the Netherlandish engraving seems not to be totally solidary o f the Sixtine Chapel or of the statues of the master.
