Abstract Even so, no country in sub-Saharan Africa before 2000 had national control programs for any of the seven programs, with the exception of cervical cancer. Onchocerciasis is the target of the Africa Program for Onchocerciasis Control (APOC) with the help of many NGOs organisation using the drug mectizan (ivermectin). The use of drug financing at APOC is revolutionary. They had, for the first time, established as a viable concept with leprosy control programs, and now, with APOC, demonstrated that pharmaceutical companies can and will reuse a drug and treat it as part of a humanitarian response. This book chapter focused on repurposing drugs against schistosomiasis.

Abstract This book chapter focuses on seven areas to consider for the implementation to be success: (1) Who gets sick and who will provide the community/section in? How to diagnose and measure and what tools do they use? (2) What do we offer? (praziquantel and albendazole) How can they measure dosage and ensure supplies? (The drug should be given or inexpensive, still safe and effective, and easy to use) (3) Why deploy praziquantel to prevent transmission but not a vaccine? How? or what can they do if they just use medicine? (4) Who will deliver it? How to sign up and retain people get on the train? (5) Have they raised enough funds for drugs, labor and maintenance program in the next few years? How does the program sustainable? (6) How will they measure success, creating evidence of what works and publish it for others to benefit, bring in sponsors and to increase more? and finally, (7) Is governance intended to help us be honest and true to the goal?

Abstract This book chapter is intended to measure egg counts, disease incidence (damage to organs, anemia, growth retardation) and affect cognition. Epidemiologists and mathematical modelers agree that it is unlikely that schistosomiasis and HRT will be eradicated in a very long time, and certainly not until socio-economic recovery with better sanitation and provide potable water introduced in all endemic areas. However, the locals thought that elimination is certainly possible and is the current goal in many countries (WHO has made the plan available to program managers), acknowledging that some hot spots of infection will likely stay with these requiring more regularity of processing. Already in some regions, the MDA has greatly reduced popularity measured by structured monitoring and evaluation.

Abstract In Sudan, almost every town has a small hospital, described as a 'one-doctor hospital', and traditionally, the newly graduated doctors are assigned to a hospital for two years, where they learned a trade and lived there. The wards are quite sparse in the hospital. While this is good for male graduates, it is not well received by parents of female graduates because Sudanese tradition expects women to marry and give birth in finish their study. To meet the demand for doctors in rural communities, Some changes were needed, and the School of Medicine solved this problem somewhat. problem by limiting consumption to 50% of men and 50% of men. This book chapter describes a physician's experience with schistosomiasis research and testing.
