The aim of this paper is to analyze the Mexican implementation strategy of trade policy openness due to the globalization trend, urging the country to create a series of trade agreements and treaties on free movement of goods and regional integration, becoming the country with the network of the world's largest trade agreements, increasing its presence and Mexican companies in international markets. Similarly, a spatial analysis of the last five governmental periods, comprising 26 years of foreign trade policy and its impact on foreign investors, foreign trade and main multinationals in Mexico, forcing them to centering in competitive productive processes and improving their internal organization, innovation and development.

Since the pro-market reforms were launched, the Indian economy has grown from 5% in the 1980s to around 10% in 2011 before slowing down dramatically to less than half that rate in recent years. From launching of reforms until 2011, it did manifest some vivid and impressive signs of India moving towards high growth and increase in living conditions of its population. The purpose of this article is to access the likely effects of the reform measures on economic growth and poverty. Because the mainstream approach suggests that the reforms can be expected to increase economic growth and incomes. It seems that India’s growth has been led by the services sector, which includes real estates, IT, telecommunications, and banking, which contributes nearly 50% to the GDP in 2012. Manufacturing, which experienced remarkable growth and transformation in the East Asian economies, had rather grown much slower. The agriculture sector, which still employs nearly two-third of the India’s workforce, remains stagnant. The study suggests that education and health have been neglected in India and this will compromise productivity and growth.

The paper presents the analysis of technical equipment of Polish agriculture in spatial aspect. The investigation was carried out on voivodeship level with the application of classical and fuzzy methods of linear ordering and classiϐication of objects. The research was based on the data from Agricultural Census conducted in 2010 and on the data from the Central Ofϐice of Geodesy and Cartography. As a result of application of the statistical procedures ranking of voivodeships was obtained and in consequence the division of voivodeships into three groups of high, moderate and low level of technical equipment of agriculture.

This is an academic article. The introductory part presents the definition of the creative economy, on which theories of a creative city are based. The second part concerns the most common in the literature representations of a creative city. The third part describes basic theories about the society characteristic for creative cities (creative class theory, 3T theory, creative milieu). The whole is summed up by the overview of key issues which currently stand against the development of creative cities.

The article examines sources of obtaining a competitive advantage by regions. Such an examination is an indispensable element of creating region’s strategic development, including the shaping of the area’s own image. In a market economy all actions including those of local governments, are based on marketing principles. The conscious recognition of that approach is increasingly common as much as the frequent demonstration of various undertaken actions. The article reviews regional development strategies in Poland and presents information about competitive advantage sources included in individual strategies in the context of the undertaken marketing efforts, including the shaping of a territorial administrative entity.

A nonparametric stochastic kernel and Markov transition probability matrixes are used in this paper to investigate the per capita personal income distribution and how it evolved over the period 1950 - 2000 across the 59 provinces and states in the U.S. and Canada. Empirical evidence confirms club convergence (multi-modality) of the per capita personal income levels across the provinces and states in the U.S. and Canada over the entire study period.
