The study analyses the preferences and usage of different types of information resources in the Ph.D. theses submitted in the discipline of Library and Information Science (LIS). The citations examined types of cited literature such as journal articles, books, and chapters in books, databases, theses and reference sources. The subject coverage of cited references and the number of Indian and foreign citations were also analyzed. Authorship patterns of cited references were also examined. The study will be useful for the university libraries and other types of libraries having library science department in planning for collection development in library and information science. The results indicate that researchers have cited more foreign publications as compared to Indian resources. High use of Internet resources was observed as access to Internet has become easy in India now.

The current study aimed to evaluate the quality levels of the Central Library services at Kharazmi University of Tehran through LibQUAL. The analytic method was used. The statistical population consisted of all the members of the Central Library including BA, MA, and PhD students. It was found that the quality level of the received services in all three factors including “services effectiveness”, “information control” and “library as a place” lagged behind the minimum level of the users’ expectations. Among the three factors, “services effectiveness” met the users’ expectations to a lower extent whereas “library as a place” met them to a greater one. The Central Library at Kharazmi University of Tehran suffers from an undesirable status.

Bibliometric analysis of 539 articles published in the journal titled “Dental Clinics of North America” during 2004 to 2014 has been carried out. The paper analysed yearwise distribution of paper, average length of paper, authorship pattern, bibliographic form of documents, distribution of citations and subject trends of articles. The result shows that the journal on an average has published 49 research articles per year and most of the papers were contributed by two authors. Most of the articles dealt with general dentistry. The average length of the paper is 17 pages per article and journals are the most predominant form of citations.

The present study analyses 17, 266 publications records on different aspects of climate change published during 2009–2013. The highest (4788) publications were produced in the year 2013 and the lowest (2238) was in the year 2009. The highest number of publications was produced by USA followed by England. Thuiller, W followed by Smith, P. were the most prolific authors in the field of climate change. The journal articles were the most widely used document forms followed by reviews. The prolific journals were ‘Climatic change’ and ‘Global change biology’. The study also assessed the citation patterns including the country's citations, citations of affiliated institutes, and average, self and unique citations received of select years.
