Variety trials under two sowing dates were carried out in five State Variety Fields of Omsk region from 1996 to 2000. In most experiments significant differences were observed for grain productivity between the first and second sowing dates, though, if a variety field and a growing season taken into account, the differences in grain yields between the two sowing dates were not great. Over the total five years, at the second sowing date and for the five variety fields the average yielding capacity went down by 5,7% vs. the first sowing date, the decline varying from 2,4% in the Russian-Polyansk to 14,0 % in Pavlograd variety fields
