Evaluation of Lingual Arch form among Angle Class I, Class Iiand Class III Malocclusions in Chinese Orthodontic Patients 中国正畸患者角1类、角2类、角3类错颌舌弓形态的评价

page no: 30/37 www.ommegaonline.org Vol:4 Issue: 2 Abstract: Introduction: The aim of this study was to analyze and compare the dental lingual arch widths and lengths, alveolar arch within patients with Angle’s Class I (ACI), Class IIdivision1 (ACII) and Class III (ACIII) malocclusions in Chinese patients. Methods: This study was performed using measurements on ninety dental casts with ACI (age: 22.2 ± 3.6), ACII (age: 23.0 ± 3.8), and ACIII (age: 22.0 ± 2.8) malocclusion subjects. Two-way ANOVA post-hoc and nonparametric tests were applied for comparisons in groups and genders. Results: Maxillary canineand premolar alveolar widths and all maxillary lingual lengths were significantly narrower in ACIII (p < 0.05). The mandibular intercanine andintermolar widths were wider and the maxillary intermolar width measurement was larger in ACIII (p < 0.05). Male’s palate height in ACIII was greater than ACII (p < 0.05). Gender differences were also significant in these measurements. Conclusions: Our data showed undergrowth of the maxilla and overgrowth of the mandible and incisor inclined lingual in ACIII; mandibular growth retrusion and maxillary incisor inclined in ACII. Alveolar width was greater in males than females.

Influence of Surrounding Conditions on Visual Determination of Tooth Shade 环境条件对牙影视觉测定的影响

Material and methods: Dental students (N=37) at the Universities in Dresden, Leipzig, Berlin, Olomuc and Greifswald participated in this research. A standardized lecture, followed by the web-based Toothguide-Trainer tool (www.toothguide.de) prepares the students for templates matching with the computer aided “Tooth guide-Training-Box” (TTB, VITA Zahnfabrik).After color matching in neutral grey surrounding (reference), the participants repeated the matching on modified TTBs (red, yellow and blue). Color distance to the selected templates (∆E) was calculated confounded by gender and age. The mean and standard deviation (SD), median and the 95 % confidence interval (95% CI) were calculated using Mann-WhitneyU test (α=.05).

Primary Intraosseous Squamous Cell Carcinoma 原发性骨内鳞状细胞癌

Case 1 A 65-year-oldman was referredto Oral and Maxillofacial medicinedepartment of Dental School ofShiraz University of Medical Science with a complaint of swelling on the right side of the mandible. The medical and family history was unremarkable. On careful history evaluation, the patient proposed that he was treated for right posterior mandibular pus discharge by a dentist 3 months ago by tooth 45 and 46 extraction. On intraoral examination, a tender, diffuse swelling (4cm × 5 cm) was presented involving the buccal and lingual aspects of the edentulous ridge of 45, 46 region extending from mesial side of right mandibular first premolar to right mandibular second molar. Ulcer with fibrino leukocytic membrane was seen on the surface, partly was normal in color and partly was red,firm in consistency, 43 and 44 had 3rd grade mobility, 47 and 48 had 2nd grade mobility, with no associated sinus tract or discharge. The right submandibular lymph node was palpable.
