The Chinese petai plant (Leucaena leucocephala (Lam.) de Wit) has been used in various systems of traditional medicine for the treatment of various diseases in humans. The Chinese petai plant (Leucaena leucocephala (Lam.) de Wit) contains antioxidant secondary metabolites that can inhibit oxidation reactions by binding to free radicals and highly reactive molecules. The purpose of this study was to determine the class of chemical compounds contained in the ethanol extract of Chinese petai peel and the antioxidant activity of the ethanol extract of Chinese petai peel (EEKPC). The stages of this research included: collection and processing of simplicia; preparation of the extract by maceration with 70% ethanol; characterization test of simplicia powder; phytochemical screening of ethanol extract of petai cina; antioxidant activity test of EEKPC using the DPPH (1,1-diphenyl-2-pikrilhidrazyl) free radical scavenging method using UV-Vis spectrophotometry at a wavelength of 516 nm. The results of the phytochemical screening examination of Chinese Petai Peel Ethanol Extract (EEKPC) contained alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins, tannins, and triterpenoids. The results of measuring the antioxidant activity of EEKPC showed strength in the "strong" category with an IC50 value of 91.0189 μg/ml.

Diabetes mellitus is a chronic disease that can quickly increase the prevalence of complications in sufferers, such as liver damage. This study aims to examine the effect of methanol extract cinnamon bark (Cinnamomum burmanii Bl) in regenerating liver cell damage mice (Mus musculus) Diabetes Mellitus through the histological picture. 20 mice were divided into 5 groups which consisted of a negative control group, Positive control and a group of mice that were given methanol extract bark Cinnamomum burmannii dose of 125 mg/head/day, 250 mg/head/Day and 500 mg/head/day. In the positive control group and the group of mice that will be given extract streptozotocin injected dose of 0.2 ml and observed blood sugar levels if sugar levels have increased then given methanol extract bark Cinnamomum burmannii with a dose that has been determined and blood sugar levels were measured. On the last day, surgery is performed to remove the liver, after which histological preparations are made. The results showed that the administration of bark extract Cinnamomum burmanii can regenerate damaged liver cells of mice due to diabetes mellitus. This is due to the content of secondary metabolite compounds contained in the bark of Cinnamomum burmannii.

Bidara arab leaf (Ziziphus spina-christi (L.) Desf) is one of the plants that have the potential as an anti-acne. The content of secondary metabolites contained in bidara arab leaves include alkaloids, polyphenols, flavonoids, saponins, and tannins. These secondary metabolites can inhibit the growth of acne causing bacteria, namely Propionibacterium acnes. The purpose of this study was to create a good gel dosage form of the ethanol extract of bidara arab leaves and to test the antibacterial activity of the gel formulation against Propionibacterium acne. This research method was carried out experimentally on a laboratory scale, namely ethanol extract of bidara arab leaves made in the form of anti-acne gel preparations with several concentration, including F1(1%), F2 (3%), and F3 (5%). Then proceed with the evaluation of the preparation with organoleptic test, homogenity test, pH test, adhesion test, and dispersion test. Anti-acne gel preparations had antibacterial activity based on a concentration of 1% of 12.46 mm (strong), 3% of 13.66 mm (strong), and 5% of 14.71 mm (strong), negative control had no inhibition zone and positive control 20.92 mm (very strong). strong) So, it can be included that the formulation of anti-acne gel preparations able to inhibit the growth of Propionibacterium acnes.
