Identification of adapted genotypes in sesame lines based on multi-trait selection 基于多性状选择的芝麻品种适应基因型鉴定

Identification of genotypes adapted to a particular region is of special interest to breeders and plant geneticists. In order to identify adapted genotypes in sesame lines based on multi-trait selection, an experiment was conducted in a completely randomized block design with four replications at Moghan Agricultural Research Station of Ardabil Agricultural and Natural Resources Research and Education Center during the years 2017 and 2018. The genetic materials evaluated in this study were consisted of 14 superior lines from preliminary yield trails of the three different regions evaluated in 2016 (Derived from the management of segregated generations in a pedigree way) and Oltan cultivar as a check. Combined analysis of variance showed that the genotype and genotype × year interaction effects were significant for all of the studied traits. Biplot analysis of sesame genotypes showed that the first two components explained the 55.3% of the total variations of traits. Which-won-where/what polygon pattern based on different traits of sesame genotypes showed that G3 and G8 had the highest yield and yield components such as plant height, number of capsules per plant and oil content, respectively. Based on comparing of genotypes with ideal genotypes biplot, Shukla stability index, superiority index and heat map analysis, genotypes G3, G8 and G9 were better than Oltan cultivar, thus identified as the best genotypes. These genotypes have the potential to be used in research-extension trials for introduction as a new cultivar for cultivation in Moghan region.

Effect of Harvest Time, Non-Toxic Treatments and Storage Temperature on Postharvest Life of Mexican Lime (Citrus aurantifolia L.) 采收时间、无毒性处理和贮藏温度对墨西哥酸橙采后寿命的影响

In order to evaluate the effect of harvesting time, storage temperature and non-toxic treatments of Putrescine (Pu), salicylic acid (SA) and thyme and cloves essential oils (TEO and CEO) on qualitative and quantitative characteristics of Mexican lime fruit, a factorial completely randomized design experiment was performed. This experiment was conducted with three storage temperature levels including ambient temperature (22±3°C), 4±1 and 8±1°C, and the treatments including Pu (1, 2 and 3 mmol), SA (200, 400 and 600 mg/l), TEO and CEO (150, 300 and 450 mg/l) and distilled water as control treatment. The fruits were harvested in two stages including the maturity stage (early color change) and the ripening stage (yellow color) in four replications and 10 fruits in each replication. Effects of harvesting time, storage temperature and treatment type on fruit quality attributes were significant (p<0.01). It was found that the green harvesting stage is the best time for harvesting. It was further found that storing at temperatures above 4°C is the most effective temperature in increasing the postharvest life of Mexican lime fruits. It was also found that the 2 and 3 mmol Pu applications can be used to preserve and maintain the Mexican lime fruits.

Effect of Light Intensity and Foliar Application of Calcium Chloride and Naphthalene Acetic Acid on Growth and Yield of Strawberry cv. Paros 光照强度及叶面施用氯化钙和萘乙酸对草莓生长和产量的影响。帕罗斯岛

The role of calcium in the growth, fruiting and preservation of the quality of strawberries, has been well known. In this research, effect of calcium chloride along with naphthalene acetic acid (NAA) under shade conditions on growth, yield and quality of Paros strawberry was investigated. The experiment was a factorial with two factors of light intensity (normal light and shade condition) and calcium chloride and NAA treatment (control, 0.75% calcium chloride, 25 mg/L NAA, and 0.75% calcium chloride + 25 mg/L NAA). The results showed that spraying NAA and calcium chloride under shade conditions increased plant growth when compared with light conditions. Under normal light conditions, calcium chloride treatment increased the fruit diameter and yield in comparison with control treatment under light and shade conditions. The highest fruit firmness (342.0 N/cm 2 ) was observed in the treatment of calcium chloride under light and shade conditions. NAA treatment under shade conditions resulted in higher anthocyanin. The treatment of calcium chloride + NAA in normal light condition showed higher total phenol (1.12 mg/g FW) and antioxidant activity (72.12%). Calcium chloride treatment increased the amount of calcium in the fruits by nearly 50%. Moreover, calcium chloride treatment in shade condition led to a 12% increase in calcium content of petiole, in comparison to those of control in shade condition. Calcium chloride along with NAA treatment increased leaf calcium compared to control treatment in light conditions. From the present results, it can be concluded that treatment of plant by calcium chloride alone in both light and shade conditions can increase the qualitative and quantitative characteristics of fruits of Paros cultivar of strawberry. Similarly, in some conditions, the use of NAA can, increase the absorption of calcium by the leaves.

This research was carried out to study the grain yield, yield components and NDVI (normalized difference vegetation index) responses of four wheat cultivars to growth retardant cycocel under terminal drought stress conditions. The experiment was laid out as a split split plot with three replicates at the experimental farm of the School of Agriculture, Shiraz University, Shiraz, Iran in 2016-2017 and 2017-2018 growing seasons. The treatments consisted of two levels of water stress (full irrigation and irrigation cut off at the beginning of flowering), exogenous cycocel in two levels (4 g ha - 1 and 0) and four wheat cultivars (Sirvan, Baharan, Varedati and Ofogh). Water stress reduced the measured traits including, grain number per ear (19%), 1000-grain weight (14%), biological yield (22%), grain yield (29%), and NDVI (17%). Exogenously-applied cycocel compensated for some of such reductions including, number of spikes per square meter (18%) , grain number per ear (29%), 1000-grain weight (6%), biological yield (11%), grain yield (17%), and NDVI (5%). Ofogh and Sirvan cultivars showed a better response for most of the measured traits to water stress conditions when cyclocel was used. Regarding the ameliorating role of cycocel in reducing negative impacts of terminal water stress, application of this growth regulator could be recommended for similar conditions.
