Strategies of pathogenic bacteria against host pyroptosis: the shield-spear debate 病原菌对抗宿主热解的策略:盾矛之争

Pyroptosis, a form of programmed cell death, is characterized by cell lysis and the release of cytokines, damage-and pathogen-associated molecular patterns. It plays an important role during bacterial infection, which can promote inflammatory and immune responses to eliminate intracellular bacterial pathogens. In the long arms race, pathogens have evolved mechanisms to inhibit host pyroptosis, enhancing their survival and pathogenicity in the host. In this paper, we reviewed the molecular mechanism of pyroptosis and its role in host defense, as well as the strategies of pathogenic bacteria to resist host pyroptosis, which will help us understand and explore the mechanisms of interaction between pyroptosis and bacterial pathogens, and provide ideas for the development of new drugs based on pyroptosis against pathogen infection in the future.
细胞裂解是一种程序性细胞死亡,其特点是细胞裂解并释放细胞因子、损伤和病原体相关分子模式。它在细菌感染过程中发挥着重要作用,可促进炎症和免疫反应,从而消灭细胞内的细菌病原体。在长期的军备竞赛中,病原体进化出了抑制宿主热蛋白变性的机制,从而提高了它们在宿主体内的存活率和致病性。本文综述了热蛋白变性的分子机制及其在宿主防御中的作用,以及病原菌抵抗宿主热蛋白变性的策略,有助于我们理解和探索热蛋白变性与细菌病原体之间的相互作用机制,为今后开发基于热蛋白变性抗病原体感染的新药提供思路。
