Modern methods of information modeling of organizational-business and production-technological processes are considered. It is shown that the main problem is the lack of subject content in the symbols that are used in graphic notations. A method for constructing a formal-semantic alphabet of processes (functional units) is proposed, the elements of which, first, satisfy all of the requirements for formal systems and, second, have subject-oriented content as intersections of material, energy and information links. It is shown that the set of elements of the proposed alphabet is an algebraic group and also corresponds to the definition of a generator, as the main initial concept of pattern theory. At the same time, the example of a specific generator as a universal operator noted in the theory is clarified. The correspondence between some concepts and procedures of pattern theory and the concepts and procedures of the information modeling of processes is analyzed. This allowed to substantiate the possibility and expediency of using the formal apparatus of pattern theory (image algebra) for the formalization of information-modeling procedures.

This article presents comments on the cognitive interface of an intelligent system (IS) implementing the JSM method of automated research support (JSM method ARS). The IS consists of an information environment, a Solver, and a cognitive interface. One component of the cognitive interface is a metatheoretical study (metatheoretical analysis) applied to the results generated by the Solver of IS. New procedures are proposed that expand the existing set of procedures in metatheoretical research: determining the type of the cause context (determining the influence of other causes in a situation of multiple causes) and recognizing the ternary of the cause (satisfaction with the ternary relation “object-set of obstacles (brakes)-effect”) for empirical preregularities (EPRs) and, accordingly, empirical regularities (ERs), a superposition of EPRs. An example from a study of type 3c diabetes is given.

The possibilities of using a mathematical apparatus for solving current applied problems related to finding extreme values in areas such as process optimization, data analysis, and technical calculations are shown. Attention is focused on the development of the binary tree concept as a basis for finding extremes and solving problems that require fast and efficient information processing. The development of a software implementation of the proposed mathematical apparatus in the C++ programming language is presented; how the methods and algorithms can be integrated into existing software environments is described; and the advantages of using C++ for working with large amounts of data and high performance requirements are demonstrated.

This paper describes models of knowledge representation in intelligent systems, namely frames, that allow a knowledge hierarchy to be organized. Basic information on random and pseudorandom sequences and their use, obtainment, and testing in knowledge bases is presented. Particular attention is paid to different types of generators, the quality control of the output sequences, and the potential for their use in the cryptographic protection of knowledge bases. Frames extend the potential of intelligent systems, holding entities as structured objects that have named cells and associated values. This article examines the peculiarities of the functioning of intelligent systems using frames.

The results of a reliability study of digital management software for multiloop objects, information processes, and systems are presented. Mathematical models of the control object, control program, and processes of the occurrence of malfunctions and failures under digital control are developed. Expressions for calculating the estimates of software development time to malfunction and to failure are obtained. Poisson flows of malfunctions and failures of software and a digital control system in general are described. It is shown that the synthesized mathematical models enable correct prediction of software failures in digital control systems.

A new approach to the development of a tool to simplify the workflow of a game designer has been presented. The requirements have been elaborated, the work scenario has been developed, and the main parameters for the developed tool have been specified. The main objective of the tool is to speed up and facilitate the selection of suitable game mechanics without the need to spend valuable time on lengthy analysis of other video game projects. To ensure the more efficient work of game designers when selecting game mechanics, various approaches to classifying game mechanics have been analyzed. In this study, various methods of classifying game mechanics have been considered, and their analysis and review have shown which classifications are most suitable for decomposing the game mechanics. The results of this study make it possible to identify key aspects of game mechanics to serve as the foundation for developing the tool. This study is an important stage in the creation of a tool that when are implemented will optimize the game design process and speed up the development of video games.
